Bella's POV:

I ignore the unrecognizable voice coming from behind me and lean forward a little, looking down from the great height at which I'm standing to the almost invisible figures that are walking around below me. The height makes my heartbeat accelerate a little at what I know I'm very capable of doing right now.

"Please." The voice behind me begs and it startles me as I forgot she was there. I decide for the first time since she's been present to look at her, and only turn my head a little to see her. My mouth drops as I find out who it is. Zayn's sister. I grip the railings tightly and continue to stare at her, keeping silent and waiting for her to say something more.

"Please don't jump. You know it's not the answer, please. Just climb back over and we can go back down there." She takes a step towards me and I turn away from her, looking back down at the sight below me.

"And why shouldn't I?" I sob, not looking at her. "What have I really got to live for? I've ruined Zayn's life, all of your lives. Why would you even not want me to jump? You could just leave right now and nobody would even find out that you saw me."

I hear her step closer to me. "You haven't." She breathes, "And you have everything to live for. You're young, you've made mistakes. We all do. But it's not your time to go. You're here for a reason and-"

"Didn't you hear your mom?" I cut her off, still not looking at her, "Zayn doesn't want to see me. Zayn never wants to see me again, and to be honest I don't blame him."

"That's not true." She sighs and my head snaps to look at her as I quizically stare at her. "That's why I came here. I saw you running from my mum and I knew she'd said something horrible to you. I came to see if you were okay and I didn't know what she had said to you but what I do know is that that is not true. As soon as Zayn woke you were the first person he wanted to see, even before his own family." I sigh a sigh of relief at the information being said to me, but can't help the hurt I feel that Zayn's mom would say such spiteful things and even go against her own son's happiness just to destroy mine.

After standing in silence for a couple of minutes, me still crying and Zayn's sister worriedly and sympathetically waiting for me I finally turn myself around and carefully begin to climb over the railing. My foot slips but Zayn's sister grabs my hand, yanking me over as we both bundle onto the hard roof of the hospital. She stands before helping me to my feet and pressing her hands on my shoulders as she looks at me.

"I'm so sorry you felt the way you were feeling and I'm even more sorry that my mum was the cause of that. I know she can be a nasty bitch but not to that extent, and for that, I'm so sorry."

I nod and sniffle and Zayn's sister jumps in suprise as I hug her. It takes her a few seconds to recover from her startle and she rubs my back sympathetically.

"Thank you for coming up here." I croak as I pull away from her hug and wipe a tear from underneath my eye. "Thank you for caring despite everything I put you and your family through." She shakes her head.

"You didn't put our family through anything. Like Justin said, it was Zayn who decided not to wear a seatbelt, and it was Zayn who decided to get on the plane. It's not your fault at all, and please don't ever blame yourself." She squeezes my hands in hers and I nod, sniffling a little. "Now then, do you want to go and see Zayn?" She grins and I feel butterflies in my stomach at his name. Seeing Zayn has been something I've wanted to do ever since the crash; seeing him awake and in person, that is.

I nod quickly and am through the door before she is and hear her chuckle behind me as we walk down the stairs, eventually reaching the ground floor. We make general conversation as we make our way to Zayn's room, and she seems keen to know more about me, seeming to know a lot already because of Zayn. Does he really talk about me that much?

We finally reach the hospital room and Zayn's mom jumps up as she spots the both of us.

"No way." She growls, pointing to me and disapprovingly scowling at Zayn's sister. "Have you gone mad? There is absolutely no way she is going in there." She gestures to me and rolls her eyes, I can't help but my eyes narrowing at her.

"She's going to see him." Zayn's sister hisses at her mother. "I don't care what you say, she's seeing him. You know how much Zayn wanted to see her and yet you put all of these disgusting thoughts in her head? Come on, Bella." She pulls me towards the door but Zayn's mom stands in front of it, her arms crossed in front of her as she protests in silence.

Zayn's sister sighs a deep sigh before speaking. "Do you want to know where I found Bella after you said all those spiteful things to her? Do you?" She asks and her mom rolls her eyes. I begin to panic. I don't want anyone to know about that, wouldn't Zayn's sister know that?

I tug at her arm to try to pull her away from her mother. "It's fine. I'll see him another time." I mumble before beginning to walk away but Zayn's sister stays put.

"She was going to kill herself." The words leave Zayn's sisters lips and I turn to see Zayn's mom's eyes widen as she gasps. "That's right, to kill herself. She felt so down and so low that she was about to jump from the roof. But I stopped her." Zayn's mom is speechless and her eyes remain focused on me as I shift uncomfortably in my spot and look down at my fingernails, praying for this moment to end.

"Come on, Bella." Zayn's sister huffs and pushes past her mother, gesturing for me to come with her. Zayn's mom willingly moves out of the way, still silent as I walk past the both of them and into the hospital room.

I gasp as I enter the room and my eyes quickly dart to the empty bed. Where the hell is Zayn?
