Chapter 14

~ARIANNA’S P.O.V. ~

I woke up and rested my hand on my aching torso. Do all pregnant women feel this way? My body is sore and all I wish to do is lay back down, but I told Gabriela that I’d go out with her, her boyfriend, and his friend. To say that I’m excited is a lie I shall not tell. I sit up in my bed and look towards the clock that says five thirty-seven o’clock. Gabriela told me to be ready by seven o’clock. I have enough time.

I take my shower that I desperately needed since I sweated some while I was in my deep slumber. The hot water steamed down my tension filled body instantly relaxing it. I washed my body, probably scraping off a layer of my tanned skin. I step out of the shower with my hair that has grown out so it stops at mid back, lays dripping wet and pressed against the white towel that I wrapped around my drenched petite body that was tired and took a lot to move.

As I walk to my room my eyes are wondering around for a reason I don’t know why. A mouthwatering smell fills my nostrils and I breathe it in and out, enjoying the joy it brings to my abdomen. I dried my hair that had the faint smell of strawberries and oranges, then I dripping body that left water on the brown carpet. I put on my fuchsia robe and blow-dried my hair. After that, I go to the box that I marked “ARIANNA’S CLOTHES”. I didn’t care to really unpack anything, this place never felt like home; let alone have a homier vibe to it.

I take a deep breath and put on my black leather jeans, gray long sweater that came just above my butt and had black and white stripes across the middle, gray ankle heel boots, and diamond studs. I’m going to wear heels while I can. I go out of my room still smelling the smell that made my stomach growl.

“Brian are you cooking something?”  I ask with my hand over my stomach. It smelt like alfredo and that was my favorite. I look into the kitchen and he was over the stove stirring the food that was in the pot.

“Yeah, chicken alfredo to be exact. Do you want some, and why are you dressed up? You have plans or something?” He looked at my outfit and saw my eyes went to the pot that had the magnificent smell to it. I was so drowned out in my thoughts about me devouring the food that I completely forgot about his question.

“Oh yeah I forgot to tell you. Gabriela, the girl that brought me home today, well she asked me to go out with her and some other people. I didn’t want to be rude and just decline so I told her I would go. Can I have some? It just smells so good.” My eyes brighten as he laughs and grabs a bowl and puts some of the alfredo into it.

“Don’t eat that much. You’re going out and I don’t know if you’re going out to dinner or not.” Most of what he said was drowned out, because I was stuffing my face with the incredible noodles he made. “Slow down hun, you’re going to get a stomach ache.”

“You’ve got to cook this more. It’s really good.” I frown at the bowl that was empty. I try to go for seconds, but sadly Brian stops me. “I’m pregnant; you have to let me eat.”

Brian gives me that look that basically tells me to stop and do as I say. “You’re going to eat later. There will be more for you later, just take it slow and drink some water.” He hands me a bottle of water that he got from the fridge. Brian rests his and on my stomach and rubs it up and down. “Do you know how far along you are?”

“They told me I’m a month. I should’ve known, my stomach has been getting a bit round.” I say and put my hand over his big warm one. I know the responsibilities for a parent is hard. My mom use to complain about how it was when Nathan and I were when we were new borns. Nathan is my older brother that I always adored. “Do you think I’ll be a good mother?”
