Bruno Schmitt a 16 year old German jew lives with his family in Berlin . His mum Eva Schmitt is constantly worried whenever the Nazis will take them away to Auschwitz which was the worst Nazi concentration camp they had heard of Jews being gassed there.
" When do you think we will be taken" said Eva
" Darling they won't take us we will be fine" responded Bruno's father David Schmitt
" Dad are you sure" asked Bruno eyes full of worry
" Yes I'm sure son now go on and get your sister dinners nearly ready" said David
" Yes father" responded Bruno
The family sat down for dinner and went about the rest of there day without as much as mentioning Nazis or gas chambers.
After dinner Bruno was in his room when he heard a loud bang of gunshots
