~Chapter Eleven: Shopping and Pizza

A cool summer breeze whispers through the CBD as the morning sun rises high in the sky. As I've passed groups of young teenage girls, I watch them with caution. Who knows how they'll react when they see my cousins and their friends.

I keep my eyes peeled for the loud boys but I haven't seen them yet. A looming shadow is cast over me as I enter an Apple shop. The bell dings as I walk in. A friendly smile greets me.

"Hey, can I help you??" The shop assistance asks brightly.

"Um, no thank you. Not right now actually." I reply with a smile to lighten the harshness behind my words.

Wandering around the quiet shop, my eyes are attracted to the bright iPhone cases. There's so many cases to choose from and I don't even have a phone let alone an iPhone.

Pulling out the multiple bills in my pocket, I count through and end up with a total of $1158. I realise that seems like a lot to be carrying around in my pocket but Mum has never trusted me with an Eftpos card. Ever.

Running my fingers over the smooth surface of the iPhone5s screen I make a daring decision and call over the assistant.

"Can I have the black one of this please." I demand politely.

"Of course you can. Follow me and you can choose a free case to go with it." My eyes widen at the word 'free'. Free stuff is great!! Who wouldn't be able to pass up the offer of a free case.

"Sure." My eyes scan the options in front of me. My blue orbs fall upon a case that is completely black but in swirly cursive, 'Rebellious' is written in white. "I'll take that one please," I say, pointing at the case.

"Cool. Follow me to the desk and we'll go through with your purchase." The woman says with a kind smile. Trailing behind her, an Apple box and Phone Case are clasped in her hands.

Placing them on the counter, she swipes the barcode for both Apple items. Feeling very happy with my purchase, I thank the woman and exit the shop with a smug smile upon my lips.

As I walk down the street, familiar voices ring in my ears. The wind rattles my plastic bag a little as I turn around. My eyes fall on a group of well known teenage boys. My cousins and their friends to be precise.

Slightly raising my eyebrow, I watch them from afar and wait to see if they recognise me. Minutes drag on as Luke holds the camera, filming his twin, older brother and friends.

I transfer my weight to one hip as I continue to watch my relatives and their friends be idiots. A smirk plays on my lips as they embarrass themselves.

Turning back around, my stomach grumbles in protest. I haven't eaten since my breakfast bagel!! Strolling down the now crowded streets of Melbourne city centre, I come across a nice little Subway bar. Entering the shop and getting my order, I sit down in a booth, hidden from the public eye.

Sipping on my Raspberry and Coke mix, a group of extremely familiar boys waltz, literally, into the shop. Luke follows behind them with his camera and is trying so hard to not laugh. Sinking down in my seat, I attempt to hide from them.

"Hey it's Jesse!!!" Jai cries out. Damn. Climbing back onto my seat, I nibble at the lettuce that has fallen on the paper. I raise my eyebrow as the boys troop over and fall into the remaining seats. Daniel pulls one over and sits himself next to Beau.

"What do you want??" I grumble as I continue to eat my healthy sandwich.

"Are we not allowed to talk to family?" Jai asks, offended.
