I ended up at the gas station down the street calling up, of all people, Bailey Bell Bottom. For a while her phone rang and I'm guessing it's because she doesn't recognize the number but after the seventh ring her answering machine picked up.
"Bailey Bell Bottom here."She sounds so happy. Even on her answering machine,"If you called the wrong person hang up now. If you're somebody I know and you think you can prank me, you're dead. And if you're a friend leave a message. Bye." I don't think I count as a friend but she talks to me enough that we can be acquaintances and that's closer to being friends than nothing.
"Hey Bailey!" I tried lightening my voice as much as possible,"It's Timmmmberlake."It felt awkward to say my whole first name. My dad always called me Tim and I got used to it."You remember that offer you gave me a few month's"
"Hey!" She answered."I'm so happy to hear that you decided to take me up on that offer. Where are you? I'll come pick you up." I told her where I was at and hung up. She may talk a lot but the good part of that is that she never asks questions, but then that can also be very bad. Oh well, that's her bad. She must have been close, because she made it to the gas station pretty quick."It'll be sec." she told me as I got in next to her. "I need gas." I wasn't surprised to see Steven and her little brother in the back playing with some magic box they probably bought at the dollar store.
"Hey, Timberly!" Stevie is the only one in the world that I let call me that only because he lets me call him Stevie like his mom does. "How was your Aunt's house?" I turned and looked at him. Even though I didn't call anyone a friend, Stevie was probably the closest thing to friend I had. "That bad, huh?" I gave him a small smirk as I turned back in my seat as Bailey ran inside to pay. "What'd you do?" He stopped playing with the box and leaned into the front. I didn't say anything, I just sat and stared out the window. Bailey came back and plopped into her seat.
"Buckle up Steven," she put her hand on his face and pushed him back into his seat."We have a lot to plan at home." She exaggerated the word plan and home. They didn't live together they just hung out enough at each others houses to say that. She turned and smiled at me then pulled the car forward. I didn't feel like asking what she planning because I already knew the answer.
