We got to her ‘house’, it’s really an apartment but it's big enough to be a house. Everyone piled out of her little car and I stretched my legs as I stood. I hated her little car, mostly because I was honestly too big for it. We started walking towards the apartments when Steven stopped me by grabbing my shoulder.
“I need to talk to you,” he whispered into my neck. He nodded me over to the car. Bailey must have noticed because she gave her little brother the keys and walked over to us. Stevie looked up at her and ignored me.”I need to talk to her for a sec and fill her in on the plan.” It took Bailey a minute to realise that he ment alone. Her perkiness suddenly faded and she slowly walked away only looking back once. It was obvious that she was jealous that he was talking to me and me only, but she doesn’t need to worry if I was interested in any body it definitely would not be Stevie. He’s like a very distant brother, very distant. When she finally shut the door behind her Steven turned to me and his face was pink. I can tell that he was embarrassed to have to put Bailey’s hope down.
“So.” I began, bringing him out of his fantasies.”You were saying?”
“What happened at your Aunt’s house?” He looked me dead in the eye’s I saw the care on his face as if he really was my older brother. I shook my head and looked at the window of Bailey's apartment to see that she had opened the blinds, I could see right into her room where she was sitting on her bed trying to be sly as she glanced up from her phone every five seconds.”Timberly,” I turned my attention to Stevie and looked him deep in the eyes. I inhaled deeply.
“I hit her.” I mumbled.” I ran away again, that’s all.” I said quickly afterwards. Looking away and back to the window. Stevie followed my glare and suddenly dropped and hid his face.”Don’t worry,” I forced a smile,”I’ll let her know that all you talked about was what to get her for her birthday.” then I turned and walked into the apartment leaving the door open behind me for Stevie to follow. Once the door shut behind Steven, Bailey ran into the front room with the same smile she always had plastered on her face.
“I’ll show you where you can sleep,” She grabbed my arm and rushed me into her room,”Steven already has the guest room so you can sleep on my couch in here.” I could hear the desperation in her voice to know what Steven and I was talking about. I gave a small smile and turned away from the love seat to face her.
“I think Stevie said something about wanting to sleep in here instead,” I saw that she wasn’t buying it so I spiced it up,”so that it’ll be easier to protect you from any burglars.” I knew I had got her because her eyebrows flew up and her smile grew bigger, I didn’t even know that was possible.”I’ll go tell him you said yes.” She just nodded and fell back onto her bed and started humming a happy tune. I walked into the front room and didn’t see Stevie anywhere so went into the kitchen to find him making ‘the world’s largest sandwich’ for Bailey’s younger brother. He immediately looked up when I walked in and relaxed when he saw me.”She said to give me the guest room.” my hand tightened on the strap of my bag hanging off of my shoulder.”You’re sleeping with her tonight.”
“W-what?” He started to choke on a piece of turkey he was chewing on.
“Don’t worry. I told you I got this covered.” I stood there while he was choking on the piece of meat when Bailey flew by me and grabbed a water bottle and gave it to Steven. He started to chug it as she rubbed his back. They were both blushing and looking in the opposite direction of each other.
Oh, gosh. They’re like little kids who have crushes on each other. It’s sickening to see people like this. I don’t mean to be rude, but for god’s sake just do it already.
“Take her to the guest room Isaiah,” my thoughts were interrupted by Baileys chirpy voice. Her little brother nodded and jumped down from the counter and ran in the direction I’m guessing was the guest room. When I walked in I looked at the kid who had just ran here like we were in a race and he just stared back.
“Do you need something.” I dropped my bag and he flew out of the room,”guess not,” I mumbled to myself. I looked around the guest room, even though it was small was a good size for an apartment. There was a desk opposite of the bed and a closet that had a few of Stevie's jackets hanging in it. I walked around the room, not that there was much space to walk, and picked up all of Steven’s clothes and threw them into what I guessed was his bag. When I figured I had packed up all of his things I took one of the three black hoodies and put it on the bed. I left his bag outside of the door and closed it.
I know it’s only five pm but I layed down and tried to get some sleep, it took me awhile but managed to doze off.
