I woke up later around eleven. I heard shuffling in the kitchen. I rolled out of bed, quietly unzipped my bag and pulled out my crowbar. I opened the door and stopped when it creaked but who ever was in the kitchen was making enough noise to cover it. I slipped out of the room and walked along the wall until i reached to corner that turned in the kitchen. There was a shadow that moved around as things clinked together. Then everything went silent. I turned the corner with the crowbar in position to swing and ran into a masked man and he was whispering my name. My heart stopped when I recognized him, I dropped the crowbar not caring how loudly it hit the ground then the lights flickered and I turned to see Steven whispering my name.

“What are you doing,” he asked I turned and the man was gone the crowbar still in my hands. Rubbing his eyes he walked behind the counter and grabbed a glass and filled it with water,”here.” he handed it to me and cautiously took the crowbar and placed it on the counter.”It’s midnight.” he said squinting in the light.

“Sorry.” I said as I sat on the counter.”I didn’t realize.” I was still in shock by what I just saw.

“Are you okay?” Steven said getting himself a glass of water,”why are you still in your clothes?” I hadn’t noticed, I was just remembering that I never got up and changed after I laid down earlier that night.”Where you sleep walking? You must have a really good memory if you could walk around this place and not run into anything.” he stopped talking when he noticed me dazed.

“Maybe too good.”I mumbled as he walked in front of me.

”Who were you talking to?” I looked up shocked, I dropped the glass from my onto the ground and it shattered. I don’t remember saying anything.

“W-what did I say?” Stevie didn’t reply he just sucked in a breath and looked really pale. I looked down to see that a shard had hit his foot he was bleeding.”Oh, shit.” I stood up on the counter and walked to the other side to grab a handful of paper towels.”Jump onto the counter,” I told Stevie and he followed my orders as I walked around the island and knelt down and started picking up the shards.

“Be careful,” Steven said looking away from the bloody floor. I rolled my eyes and handed him a paper towel.

“Hold this on your foot,” I demanded. He placed it over his foot and flinched, pulling it away. I looked up and saw the shard was still in his foot.”Don’t bite your tongue.” I said as I stood and grabbed his foot.

“What,” He looked concerned.

“Don’t worry it shouldn’t hurt that bad,” I laughed to myself because I knew what a wuss he was. He looked away and grabbed the counter so tight that his knuckles started turning white. I got two more shards in my hand and held them as if they were chopsticks and pushed one on each side of the shard in his foot and squeezed them tight and pulled. I was surprised that he only made a small whining sound as I tugged, he stopped when I went to the sink and rinsed off the bloody splinters and threw the rest of the glass into the trash.
