There are two singers known as Jimmie Rodgers. They were unrelated

The elder, James Charles "Jimmie" Rodgers, was born September 8th, 1897. He became a country singer and died May 26th, 1933 at the age of 35.

The younger, James Frederick "Jimmie" Rodgers, was born September 18th, 1933. He became a pop singer and is still alive.

Sooo...

—Both are "Jimmie Rodgers." They share the same first and last names as well as the same nickname. They even spell them the same: "Jimmie" instead of "Jimmy" and "Rodgers" instead of "Rogers."

—Their birthdays are just 10 days apart. September 8th and 18th.

—The elder Jimmie died the same year the younger Jimmie was born.

—Both became singers. The elder became a country singer and the younger became a pop singer (which, as we know, a lot of '50s pop and rock 'n' roll is very similar to what we now would consider country music)

Yet these two men are supposedly NOT related.
