It is Up to You to Decide Fate

(Kazumi's P.O.V.)


When we got back to the classroom, waiting for us was Sakura sitting on one of the desks with some of the class also sitting behind her. Sasuke and I didn't have time to eat lunch thanks to a certain blonde we know.

"Ahh~ Sasuke, I thought you were going to leave me alone with all these people and not visit. But I guess you can't stay away can you?" said a certain blonde clinging to his shirt from behind. He scowled at her but she ignored his glare and continued to cling to him, much to his fan girls' jealousy.

"Hey Ino-pig! What're you doing to my Sasuke?!" shouted Sakura
"What do you mean 'your' Sasuke? He belongs to me and me only. He's not gonna wanna go for a billboard brow like you" retorted Ino.

"WHAT?!" the rest of the girls shouted at her while she stuck her tongue out at the rest of them.
"How could you be so oblivious?! Sasuke loves me!!" said a random girl
"I don't think so missy, he's mine" said another. And so it continued...
"Why you?! He would rather have a girl with character, not a bitch like you!!"
"What?!"
"MY Sasuke wants nothing to do with any of you. Right?"
"Not true, he wants me around"
"No!! He wants me"
"No way!!"

This was getting out of hand, they could tear each other to shreds and that would take care of our problems, but Iruka sensei wouldn't be very happy if we saw it and didn't stop them from killing each other.
I sighed heavily and walked back to where Ino was and pulled her off him pushing her away.

"Why would he like any of you? Can't you see you're just wasting his time? He doesn't care for any of you" I said in a strict voice. They all reacted to me saying this and most of them deflated in a defeated manner.

"Then what about you? Why do you fight his battles for him? He obviously can handle it himself. But you fight us over him all the time. Maybe you're a waste of his space" said Ino fearless of me.

That made me stop for a second, she said that to me? Why? I'm his sister and I'm just trying to get him away from the pandemonium of fan girls. I knew he could handle himself and he could just say 'stop' but I always say it for him. Am I in his way? I never thought about it..

"Why stick around? You're a waste of space to us all" she asked
"Enough!" we heard and when we look back, Sasuke looks beyond pissed off. He's never actually raised his voice like that. To anyone in the academy I mean. He was always so calm and he doesn't say much so hearing that from him is a little surprise.

"Sasuke..." said Ino in shock
"You have no right to tell her that. She belongs to be here a lot more than you all do" he said irritated
"But I don't get it. She doesn't say or do anything in class. We don't even get to see her fight? I don't think she is a real ninja. She would probably make her mom cry by how she is now. She's alone" she said and by this point I was having a hard time controlling myself. And judging by Sasuke's face, he is too.

I grabbed my katana from its casing on my back (keep in mind she always carries it with her) and took it out and it reflected my glare. All the other girls at this point are sprinting away in true fear of me. I raised my sword and I was ready to strike, even now Ino was getting really scared.

But when I ready to strike something struck me and it felt like pain. I couldn't stop the feeling of regret. My chest was already swelling with pain thinking about what I've done or was about to do.




(flashback to five years ago)


"Itachi! Hiiii!" yelled a happy little energy ball from the front door seeing Itachi home. She ran up to him and he opened his arms expecting a hug, and she leaped right into his arms giggling about him holding her upside down after a few seconds. He walked through the front door with the child still in his arms. He set her down and she noticed he had something sticking out of his bag.

"Itachi? Whats in your bag? Is it a present for me?" she asked excitedly jumping up and down hoping for a 'yes'. He chuckled at how cute his little sister was and opened his bag blocking her view from it to surprise her. She tried to peak over his shoulder and still couldn't see anything. He turned around and he held in his hands a brand new sword in front of him. She awed at the katana making her older brother smile.

"This is a new sword I got in town today. I saw this blade and thought it would suit you very well. But you're going to need to keep it in a case until you're big enough to wield this katana" he said making her pout.
"Aww, why can't I use it now? I have tons of strength and I bet I can master a katana within one day" she said trying to show off her swipes but trips over her own feet
"When you get a little older, then you can use this. But until then, you need to focus your skills as a ninja for now" he said with a kind smile.
"Ok, but only if you promise to take me out for dangos tonight" she said in a sweet 7 year old voice. He nodded his head agreeing to taking her out for his favorite food. She giggled and gives him a really big hug catching him off guard at first but returned it quickly.

"I love you sooo much Itachi!!" she yelled in his ears.
"I love you too Kazumi" he said back

"Huh? When did you get home Itachi?" asked a little voice behind them. They both looked over at the door and saw it was Sasuke. She smiled brightly and ran over to him giving him the same hug she gave Itachi.
He didn't know what to do at first but hugged her back with a small smile on his face. Itachi looked at his siblings warmly, admiring at how well they got along compared to others.

"Hey, guess what!" Kazumi yelled in his ear
"What?" he asked rubbing his ear
"Itachi got me a sword today and said I could use it when I get older, and he said to repay me he was taking me to dangos" she sang
"I wanna go too.. can I come?" he asked earning a giggle from his sister.
"Mmhhmm, it wouldn't be very fun if it was only us" she said making him smile at her.

(Time skip to one month later)

"Itachi, look!" yelled little Kazumi trying to perfect her water clones. When she focused her chakra as hard as she could, she used the hand sign and took a deep breath.
"Water clone jutsu!" she yelled. Next to her was a very shaken up and pale looking version of her that could barely stand. He chuckled at her efforts and she looked at him and pouted.
"I am at least trying" she said
"I know that but you're too stressed and distracted. Is there something on your mind?" he asked earning a nod from the child.
"Yeah, I was thinking. If I can get better at doing the water clone jutsu, then I can get that katana early" she said with a confident smile.
"You'll get there. But when you do, I want you to know this. When you use that katana, you shouldn't use it because you want to. You can only use it for things like fighting and training. Don't use it on the people you think are wrong. Wait for them and you will know weather it is right or wrong. It is up to you to decide fate. Not your blade" he said getting serious.

She gave a nod in understanding and turned back to her training.
"You're getting too shaky, loosen up and hold your hands like this" he said adjusting her hands the right way. She felt her energy growing and growing until she thought of herself going into more pieces and split up.
When she opened her eyes, next to her was another version of herself. The clone was still pretty pale but at least managed to stand up this time. She looked at Itachi and he gave me a small smile.

"Keep getting better and you might get that katana early" he said.
"Yeah!" she said happily


(4 months later)


"NO! Where am I going?!" she yelled trying to find her way out of the smoke of her home.
"Kazumi!" yelled a voice below her

She ran down the stairs and there was her brother covered in their family's blood and they both rushed out of the house and stopped outside to look at the mess Itachi made. She realized she forgot something. She started running in but Sasuke kept her back.
"What are you doing?! You'll get burned alive!" he yelled keeping his grip on her.

"But there's something in there I have to get! It's important!" she yelled trying to get away
"There's nothing more important than you keeping your life right now!" he yelled frustrated. She was going on and on thinking about it but she couldn't take it anymore. Her power grew with every passing minute and she yelled in frustration. She felt her body being split up and when she looked back, there was a perfect copy of her. No detail was missed and she looked at the clone for a second and realized if the real one couldn't go in, maybe the fake one could.

"Go in there and get the item off my display case!" she yelled at her clone earning a nod and her clone jumped into the fire and there was a big explosion before the clone jumped out the nearest window and handed her the case before poofing away. She opened it and there in the case was a perfect katana she remembered was the only thing left of Itachi. She glanced down and looked at the katana and she knew what she wanted. She wanted to hunt down Itachi with his own katana... the one that he gave her. That was going to be his demise


(A few months later)

She sat in her new bed and looked around with nothing to occupy her thoughts until she saw the katana standing against the wall and she looked at it in disgust.
'I will find you Itachi, I will be the one to end your life no matter how bad Sasuke wants to do it' she thought and thought back to the day he gave her that katana. She hated remembering that day but it stuck with her until a thought came to mind...
'Maybe there was a reason to what he did.'

"You'll get there. But when you do, I want you to know this. When you use that katana, you shouldn't use it because you want to. You can only use it for things like fighting and training. Don't use it on the people you think are wrong. Wait for them and you will know weather it is right or wrong. It is up to you to decide fate. Not your blade" he said......he might've done it because he thought it was right. She didn't understand why and that made her mad.

'Maybe I'll think about this later. But I won't give up on you Itachi. Right or wrong, I will find you and I will let fate decide.' she thought before picking up the katana and going to the training grounds to practice.

(Time skip to present)


I stopped myself and let out a shaky breath before dropping to the ground with Ino shaking in fear and confusion. Sasuke came to my side and helped me up to my feet. I look back at her and she was clearly terrified right now. I held the katana to her neck as a warning and put it away where it belongs.

"What the hell was that?! Why did you do that to me?! You could've killed me!" she said still shaking. I looked back at her and she backed up to make sure I didn't hurt her. I sighed and walked over to my desk.
"Answer me! Why did you do that?!" she yelled at you
"You were making me mad and you needed a little warning. Now you know the consequences of trying to insult me or my clan" I said in a dark voice.

"Hmph! Next time that happens for all we know you could kill me" she said and stomped away
"I will not kill. I only do what I do with my katana when I know what is and isn't right. And when I hold that katana to their throats, their fate is in my hands and I get to decide what happens from there" I said not looking at her. She was growling at me and probably wanted to yell but the sensei's came into the room and they said what squad they belong to and left.

"Hey, what'd I miss?" asked Naruto finally coming into the room waiting with us. I shrugged my shoulders and didn't respond but gave a small smile his way so he didn't have to ask the others what else was up.

Almost two hours later and there's still no sensei. It seemed pretty obvious who was the sensei now, but I kept quiet so they didn't know and surprise them for who's coming in.


'I guess I know where he's been for so long now. I look forward to more training Kakashi sensei'
