Water Dragon Jutsu: Meeting Cain

(Kazumi's P.O.V.)

It's been hours since noon and Akira sensei still hasn't showed up for training. In all honesty it's starting to agitate me, she told me told me to show up to the training field at 7 and if not then she would be at the training field at about noon and still she hasn't shown up. I turn my head around looking at my surroundings still not seeing her anywhere. I let out a sigh in annoyance as I head to the exit and start looking for her. As I walk through the busy streets of Konoha bumping into people every now and again I try looking for Akira sensei through the crowds still not finding anything. I sigh again in annoyance before I sniff the air trying to catch her scent, I can barely smell her but I can vaguely catch the scent of vanilla and strawberries.

I follow her trail as her scent gets stronger until I can tell she's very close as I look through the crowds still not being able to see her with the people crowding me and blocking my vision

"No way! If you want a challenge, bring it on motha f*cka!" I hear a very annoying voice come from the dango shop and I look to my right and there's Akira sensei with almost 50 plates in front of her and still stuffing her face with more food while people around them look confused
I watch in disgust as she shoves food down her throat while the person next to her has a competitive face and he's trying to go really fast but still isn't eating as much as Akira sensei. I walk up to them standing behind Akira sensei crossing my arms over my chest as I start to get mad
"Akira sensei..." I growl as she turns around
"Huh? What do ya wa--" she starts before she gulps in fear and stares at me waving her hand in her face
"Ahhhhhhh, yo. What's up newby?" she says nervously
"I was waiting" I said trying to hold back my frustration
"I-I'm sorry but first I went to pick up some supplies I thought we would need for training and when I started to get hungry I came here and met up with some friends. Then this guy challenged me to an eating contest and then.." she trailed off
"Why the hell are you listening to her? She's still a newby, don't waste your time on her" her challenger says going back to his turkey leg
"Well, I am her sensei" she claims looking proud of herself
"So you finally found one that can tolerate you being around her, good for you" he says as I glare at him
"And what rank might you be? You certainly don't look like a jounin" I ask
"What does it matter to you?" he asks
"Just a question" I say back
"Genin" he replies
"I don't think you have a right to talk to Akira sensei that way when you address her" I say still glaring
"Aren't you the one who was angry with her in the first place?" he asks glaring back at me
"It doesn't matter now, I found her and we have training to do" I say as I grab Akira sensei's hand dragging her out of the restaurant
"Thanks for covering the bill for me sweetie!" she hollers back as he looks at her in anger
"Who the hell says I'm gonna pay for you?!" he shouts back trying to stomp out of the restaurant but a waitress stops him as Akira sensei is laughing in amusement as we walk away
"So wait, you were waiting for how long exactly?" she asks when I release her wrist letting her walk on her own
"I've been at the training grounds since 7 this morning" I say and she sweat drops
"Sorry 'bout that" she says sheepishly rubbing the back of her head
"It's alright, but I would prefer you didn't keep me waiting for so long" I say looking ahead as we reach the training grounds
"Got it, got it" she says as we finish walking to the training field in silence
"Ok, so one of the things I need you to show me if I'm going to be your sensei is you have to show me the most powerful and most difficult jutsu you can do" she says and I cringe when I think about my demon jutsu
"Somethin wrong?" she asks
"I-I can't do that, it's--"
"HEY!" we both hear an annoyed voice shout from the other side of the training field and there stood Akira sensei's challenger from the shop
"Somethin you want?" she asks
"Yeah! I want you to pay me back for having to pay for your food!" he says pointing his finger at Akira sensei
"What ever do you mean? I don't remember doing anything of the sort, I was here with my lovely student all day" she says in an oblivious tone
"Don't even dare give me that!! You know what you did!" he screams at her
"I haven't done anything to you" she says acting angry at him
"Yes you did!!" he screams stomping over to us until he's right in front of Akira sensei
"Then how about we have ourselves a little fight, if I win I owe you nothing and you have to buy me whatever I want from that shop for the next week. If you win, I'll pay ya back and buy you a water bottle" she offers
"Why do I only get a water bottle and you get free food for a week?! No! I want it to be the same" he says
"Fine, fine, baby gets his water bottle" she says rolling her eyes and he grits his teeth in anger
"Fine! Bring it on" he says
"Kazumi, you stand in for me" she says and my eyes widen at her
"Huh?" I ask
"You fill in for me, it'll show me if you're suitable to be my student and it'll give me an idea of your fighting style" she says putting her hands on her hips
"But--"
"No buts, just get out there and get me my free food" she says pushing me into the field with my challenger getting ready throwing punches in the air before he turns his attention to me
"You again? This outta be easy, s genin punk against me? This won't take so long" he says cockily popping his knuckles
"I wouldn't start celebrating yet" I say in a dull tone
"This is gonna be your funeral" he says as he summons chakra into his hands and runs at me and tries to hit me but I dodge his attack and he grits his teeth in anger
"What the heck? You weren't supposed to dodge that!" he says as he runs at me again
"Stop dodging so I can hit you!" he says angrily
"Why would I stop dodging?" I ask
"So I can kick your ass!" he says attacking randomly.
"Alright, then you face my chakra shuriken!" he says as he launches a dozen shuriken at me that I easily dodge. I sigh in annoyance and stay still as he smirks at me and comes at me with his fist
"You're dead kid!" he says as he's only a few inches from my face, I focus my chakra as hard as I can as I feel it radiate around my body the second before he almost hits me. As he punches me in the face, my water goes in every direction and his fist is in my head but he doesn't move. He's in shock and isn't responding, I grab his hand that's still in my face and he flinches.
"I told you not to celebrate yet" I said as I take his arm out of my head as my water comes back to me refilling my missing face
"Aren't you celebrating right now?" he asks with his voice cracking a little
"I'm not cheering, and I'm not jumping in joy" I say I focus on my chakra as my body is turned into a solid again
"I've never seen a jutsu like this, my chakra should've gotten to you anyway. Nothing can surpass my chakra
"Since my body was a liquid, regardless of how strong you think your chakra is it isn't going to get past me. Unless you were really that strong" I say releasing his hand. I reach out and he flinches and backs away from me, but he trips on one of the shuriken he threw and falls on his back. I still reach out my hand and he flinches trying to move backwards but I grab his head and hold him in place, he flinches and starts shaking, it's just pathetic. He challenged us and he should've guessed what he was up against . I release my grip on his head and bring my hands to his forehead, I point my finger out and poke him on his forehead but he's still shaking
"Don't fight someone you know you can't beat" I say taking back my hand walking back to Akira sensei
"Not bad Uchiha, you served me well" she says as I glare at her and raise an eyebrow
"U-Uchiha? You?" he says pointing his finger at me
"Yes" I say
"I heard you're the last of your clan, is that true?" he asks and I visibly flinch
"Yes, but it's me and my brother" I say in a bored tone trying to hide my sadness
"What was it really like when they all left?" he asks
"I would prefer not to talk about it" I say turning away from him
"Why? Because you're too chicken to say you lost your entire family? By your brother no less" he taunts and I raise my head giving him my harshest glare () and he flinches. I stomp over to him and he's trying to get away from me grabbing him by his shirt and lift him off the ground so he's eye to eye with me
"Don't you even think about saying that again" I say and he looks at me shocked, probably finally understanding what he said and what a big mistake he made
"You don't know the pain of having no one to comfort you and no one to hug you when you get home and cook your dinners for you, does your chores and lets you do what you want to fulfill your dreams. I don't have that luxury anymore, it was just me and my brother, we had no one to rely on and no one to comfort us when we felt the pain of not being able to see my mother smile, my family laugh, to see my brother so cold and distant because of someone who killed us off. I spent every day thinking I could've saved them if I was strong enough but I can't do anything about it now can I? When you see your family die in front of your eyes, come to me and tell me how it feels to be alone" I say shoving him back onto the ground
"Get out" I say pointing at the exit, he complies almost instantly and runs off in the other direction
"Damn kid, didn't think you'd be that pissed off. I gotta watch what I say about you" says Akira sensei looking in the distance where he ran off"We have to train if I want to be ready for the chunin final exams" I say and she stares at me for a second before blinking
"Sure thing kid, but you still need to show me what you can do. I asked you to give me your most powerful jutsu and we were so rudely interrupted" she says rubbing the back of her head
"I...I can't show you that jutsu" I say
"Why not? I heard you had really powerful jutsus that could take down a whole group of ninja by yourself" she says confused
"That's the fact, that jutsu was so dangerous I was so close to almost killing my friends. I'm not going to do that jutsu again" I say
"Really? What is it about this jutsu that makes it so dangerous?" she asks
"I have no control of my body and I see myself doing things I wouldn't even dream about, it's very difficult to even twitch a finger while I'm using the jutsu" I explain and she stares at me shocked
"Well then, lets not try that" she says laughs nervously
"Got anything else?" she asks
"I have a water dragon jutsu, it's fairly new so I haven't fully mastered it yet" I say
"Ok, I can help with that. But when did you learn this jutsu?" she asks
"When I was in the forest of death" I answer
"I want you to make the biggest dragon you can, I'm gonna show you a little trick" she says
She starts making the hand signs of the boar, the elephant, and the bull. She forms a water ball in her hands but she moves her hands around the ball of water and it slowly starts taking the form of a small dragon in her palm

I stare in awe as she forms the dragon, but then what catches me off guard is the small dragon starts moving and it makes small hissing sounds weaving it's head back and forth. She raises her head looking at Akira sensei waiting for her command, Akira sensei leans forward to the water dragon in her palm and slowly gives her a kiss on his forehead. When she pulls back from the kiss, she gives her a boost and she flies out of her hand and flies above us, but what catches me off guard is when she starts rapidly growing in size. She's almost as big as a 6 story house and her wing span is almost the size of the training field, she coldly looks at me and hisses at me before she screeches loudly making me wince in pain and cover my ears.
"Ambu, good to see you again" Akira sensei says as the dragon nuzzles her head against her narrowing her eyes at me
"Hey, it's alright girl. She's my new student" she assures but she still looks unsure
"Don't worry, she isn't gonna hurt ya" she says rubbing the top of her head.
"Ok, this is Ambu, she's my dragon guardian" she says pointing to him
"Dragon guardian?" I ask
"Yeah, in a way you have to think about a summoning jutsu. When you need to summon them you don't need blood, but it requires a lot of chakra. He or she will follow your every command and go with what you say, and he can attack for you and defend you if that's what you want. But depending on what you chose them to be, they come in different shapes, sizes, and even colors. Trust me, it's a lot of practice to get one even close to the size of mine but you should get the hang of it at some point. It's a bit complicated but you have to move your chakra through your body and move your chakra to your lips when you kiss the water ball it takes the shape of your dragon from how much chakra you gave it. But even with you, since you can make a demon jutsu at your age you could use that to your advantage in your battle, but even if it is created using the demon jutsu techniques they will still be at your command if you do it right" she explains
"But why do I have to move the chakra to my lips and kiss it?" I ask
"Because it's cute and when the boys see they fall head over heels for someone who cares so much for a little guy. You get your own fan boy club dedicated to nothing more than you" she says
"You don't want any of those" I say sweatdropping
"Why not? Just imagine, all those guys just killing and stepping over people to see you" she says with a dreamy look on her face
"I already have those, they just get in my way" I say and she gasps
"I never knew you were so popular with the boys" she says looking at me in awe
"It's not something to be in awe of" I say
"Your opinion, not mine" she says shrugging her shoulders
"Ok, lets start. See that river over there?" she asks pointing to the lake behind me as I nod my head
"I want you to make a water ball no bigger than your palm" she says. I walk over to the river and focus my chakra bringing a small orb of water to the palm of my hands and turned towards Akira sensei who shakes her head saying 'no'
"No, no, no. You gotta be more gentle, like you're cradling a dove who broke its wing. It's so forced, you have to take the time to make sure it's perfect. Any regular water ball isn't going to hold up for this jutsu. Now, go again and be as gentle as possible" she instructs making me confused. What the point? It's a water ball either way isn't it? None the less I put the water ball back into the river building up my chakra to grab another, but before I can even grab it Akira sensei comes up behind me and slaps my back hard. I raise an eyebrow at her and she's smiling at me innocently
"You lost focus, the water isn't like when you picked it up, it's more stressed and forced than the first time you did it. If one of your enemies were to attack you and you can't handle a little pain or distraction the jutsu will go horribly and it will be nothing like you want it to be" she explains
"So I take the hit from the enemy?" I ask again raising my eyebrow at her
"Don't you give me that look, and no. But you have to be relaxed and don't let anything get to you, no matter what" she says. I nod my head turning back to the river and focusing my chakra but lightening up on the force like she said and I tense my body waiting for her to hit me in the back again
"No!" she yells in my ear making me lose concentration letting the water ball fall to the ground in a splash
"Even if you know I'm going to do something you have to keep yourself calm if you want this to work, so no tensing your body waiting for the blow got it?" she says in a scolding voice
"Yes" I say nodding
"Good, now keep going. We're gonna go all night if we have to!!" she says in a hero voice raising her hand in the air pointing at the sky

(Timeskip to 1:37 AM)

So tired...this woman is driving me crazy. I have a lot of patience and I can handle training just fine, and although I understand this is a difficult jutsu and if there's something wrong with how you approach it, it won't work like you expected, but every detail about that jutsu we practiced today had to be precise. If it takes this long in the chunin exams my best shot against my opponent would be using my sharingan. I was barely able to keep the curse mark under control the last time, and there's no guarantee that I can control what happens now. I can't take the risk of endangering my friends and the people I care about for something as selfish as wanting to be a higher level ninja. I open the door to the Uchiha compound and lazily close it not even caring if Sasuke is awake or not


"You don't look like you're in the best of moods" Sasuke comments looking at me almost asleep
"You're lucky to have Kakashi sensei only show up 5 hours late Sasuke, remember that" I comment almost dragging myself up the stairs
"I'll be sure to remember that" he mumbles walking past me on the stairs going into his room. I sigh in annoyance and slide open the door to my room, but laying on my bed is none other than Akira sensei looking at the ceiling and fiddling with her fingers as if there was nothing better to do
"What are you doing here?" I ask her
"We weren't finished with our training and you ran off too fast so I had to catch you when you got home, but I will admit I didn't think it would take you so long" she says turning her attention back to me but I just raised an eyebrow at her
"What? We weren't done so I had to come get ya, what does it matter?" she asks oblivious
"Because this is Uchiha property" I say setting down my weapons on the floor
"Hey, it took a lot to find this place, and your brother didn't even give me a chance before he attacked me. He was sooo mad" she says chuckling at the memory
"Because he probably didn't want to be woken up" I comment heading for the bathroom but I feel a hand grab my wrist, I turn my head and Akira is looking at me with an annoyed expression
"I didn't come all the way over here so you could skip out on me, nuh uh" she says dragging me to the window, I try to get out of her grasp but she has an iron grip. She giggles like a mad person and chucks me out the window making me scream as I'm falling to the ground landing on my feet barely able to stand up straight anymore, she jumps out the window after me and giggles madly landing on her feet without any trouble at all
"At least you have no neighbors" she says laughing
"Why did you throw me out the window?!" I demand pointing my finger at her
"To get you back to training, duh, what else?" she says sticking her tongue out at me
"Training was supposed to be over before midnight" I say making my way back to the Uchiha compound
"Well too bad! I am the sensei and I decide when we train" she says putting a hand on my shoulder turning me around
"And if this works out, I'll give you all of today to sleep as much as you want" she persuades, after a minute of thinking I sigh in annoyance and nod my head
"Good, now grab a glass of water!" she says pointing to the house
"And don't try to sneak away from me, or training will be harder" she shouts after I leave her behind. I grab a glass from the cabinets and fill one up with water about half way, I walk back out to where Akira sensei was waiting for me and handed her the glass
"Alright, well the more water you have, the less chakra you have to use to fill it up" she says setting the cup of water on the ground
"Ok, so you're still not getting how to concentrate on the jutsu and not make it so forced. The jutsu isn't going to work like that if you force it, it may be your dragon but you still have to care for it and be gentle, if you bring it up too rough it'll try to force itself away from your chakra and become independent, and that ain't good" she says crossing her arms over her chest
"You can take the distraction part just fine but you're too used to fighting with your fancy sword and being rough with your jutsus. Did you know if you weren't so rough you could save at least 2 percent of the chakra you would normally waste on a regular jutsu?" she asks and I shake my head meaning no
"It's true though, people just don't think enough about it. There has to be something that puts your mind at ease when you practice this, happy memory, thinking about dangos, u-uhh, making out w-with your fan boys" she says stuttering the last one slightly blushing
"That is beyond anything I can call happy" I say in disgust
"Then something, it's like when you think about it or do it it's like it's only you, no one is around you...until you go back into the battle that is" she says scratching the back of her head and I start to think, I feel relieved when I think about Sasuke and Itachi as kids but it only brings back the fact that he's not going to come back to Konoha like he is now. I think harder and there's not a lot that keeps me calm, I keep my calm exterior on the outside to not let anyone see what I can really feel, people can see past words that come out of my mouth and can barely see it past my eyes. But even a little is enough to convince anyone.
"Not a lot can really do that" I say honestly
"Why not think about the joy and happiness you'll feel when you become a chunin?" she suggests
"There's no guarantee that I'll make it Akira sensei" I say
"Think POSITIVE man, you're impossible to make smile" she huffs
"I haven't smiled in a while" I reply in a bored tone
"Ok, what about that time I knocked Naruto out the store? That was funny wasn't it?" she asks punching the air for affect
"It looked more painful than funny" I say
"......Oh! I got it! Imagine yourself making out with Naruto" she says but I feel my cheeks heat up thinking about that
"W-w-what?! He's my friend, I'm not going to imagine kissing him!" I say trying to hide my embarrassment probably failing miserably
"Hmmmm.......Do you meditate?" she asks and I nod in reply
"Perfect! You need to put yourself in a state of peace like when you meditate, block out everything around you and focus" she says

I breathe in deeply and focus my mind and I can feel myself being pulled away from reality and it gets brighter and brighter as I squint my eyes to keep from going blind but it does nothing. Then it all goes black.

(In her dream)

"Who are you puny mortal?" a deep voice calls out from far away
"Kazumi Uchiha, and who are you?" I ask in response
"Cain, and what business do you have with me? Surely you can't think I'm going to make a contract with you" he spat at me
"Why not?" I ask
"I do not form any contracts with someone who doesn't believe I exist" he says
"What makes you think I don't think you exist?" I ask, my eyes are closed and I can't move any part of my body, all I can do is listen
"You humans always follow whatever one person has to say and you believe they are right and follow that path not believing in anything else. You blindly follow your Hokage and you don't even say anything to oppose him or to shut him up, it doesn't matter what you humans see, it all leads up to the fact that whatever you hear, you believe. Because of that, you won't believe any of this will work. You can't see me and you're thinking I probably don't exist" he tells me in a disgusted tone
"But I do believe you exist" I respond
"No you do not! I can sense how you feel and there is a large amount of doubt about me" he says
"I apologize" I say
"What do you have to be sorry for? If you don't believe then that's what you believe. There is much doubt in your mind and you can't seem to clear it. You doubt yourself, your friends, your leader, and your whole world's existence" he says and it sounds like his voice is fading away
"What doubts do I have? I believe in my team mates, I believe in my family, and I believe in the Hokage" I say confused
"You lie so much and you don't even know it" he spat at me
"I do not lie" I respond raising my voice getting tired of him and his attitude
"Then why do you work so hard for something you believe in?" he asks
"What is that supposed to mean?" I ask daring him to say it again
"I do not need to repeat myself"
"Why shouldn't I work hard?" I ask
"If you really had confidence in the people around you then you wouldn't work so hard. If you thought Sasuke would be just fine, then why did you still protect him? He has plenty of talent from the Uchiha clan and you still doubt his abilities" he hisses
"Even if he is good enough why shouldn't I protect him?" I raise my voice higher
"He does not need your help, you doubt his talents and that's what makes you go in for him. You have the biggest doubts for the village you follow and wondering what is right and wrong. Despite what you feel about the village you hide it behind a wall of kindness to the village to keep them on good terms" he responds
"And so what if I doubt a little bit? I still protect my team mates!" I shout
"A little too much if you ask me, if they ask for help then you know when to get involved. Otherwise you're just getting in their way" he says

"Then what about you? Why do you fight his battles for him? He obviously can handle it himself. But you fight us over him all the time. Maybe you're a waste of his space" said Ino

Her voice rings in my mind taking me back to the day when someone stood up to me to tell me to let Sasuke do it alone
"But I couldn't just let him go, he's got better things to deal with than listening to them" I say
"But if you also don't depend on him to fight then there's no way you're going to let me fight for you believing you will be fine on your own. But you know you can't, it's just not how it works. If you're alone then you'll die"
"No I won't! I'm perfectly capable of defending myself if someone attacks!" I shout at him
"You have the strength, but what if someone invaded your village, you can't protect everyone there and if others come to fight you know you have to focus on the enemy or you will die" he hisses
"I refuse to let my comrades die! I promised Kakashi sensei years ago" I shout louder
"He said to keep them alive, not to fight their battles for them. It's only giving the impression that they can't do it themselves" he says
"B-but I.."
"No one says you aren't doing a good job of keeping people alive but you need to let people help, you can't do everything alone stupid human" he says
"........." I didn't even put any thought into what Ino had said to me and now what she says, it puts things into perspective
"You're starting to believe human. Lets see if you believe in me, I challenge you" he says as his voice fades away entirely and I'm being pulled back into reality

(End of dream)

I snap my eyes open seeing the dark forest around me with Akira sensei leaning against a tree with her hands in her pockets waiting patiently, she hears my sudden movement and jerks her head up to look at me
"You're back" she says
"Fine then...I accept your challenge" I say with confidence directing that challenge to Cain
"Huh?" Akira sensei asks in confusion but I ignore her and turn my attention to the cup of water that remained untouched. I raise my hands in front of my face and start making hand signs of the boar, the elephant, and the bull and as I focus my chakra the small water ball floats to my hand. I shape the water making the long scaly back and large head as it already starts moving in my grasp making hissing sounds, when I remove my hand there's a small dragon in the palm of my hand moving around trying to get used to it's new environment. I feel my chakra moving all around my body and directing it to my lips, I lean forward and give the little dragon a light peck on the head giving him all the chakra he requires and gave him a boost out of my hands. His body starts getting bigger and he starts hissing in pain trying to thrash around. When the transformation stops, he's on the ground slithering his tail and hissing at me. He has no wings, but he looks close to the dragon Akira sensei created


"You did well, puny human" he hisses in my ear
"No kidding Uchiha" Akira comments behind me making me turn my head to see her with a huge smirk on her face
"I think you have nothing to worry about in the chunin exams" she says
"And you have earned your sleep time" she says and I turn my heel walking back to the Uchiha compound to sleep
"Not even a thanks?! You're cold kid!" she complains behind me making me smirk in satisfaction
"This will be the best sleep I've had in years" I comment to myself walking into the house already going to my room to get some much needed rest. I don't even wait to kick off my shoes before I'm in bed, but just when I'm about to sleep the door to my room opens to reveal Sasuke
"It's morning already, Akira asked me to get you for more training" he says and I glare outside my window at Akira sensei who's waving her hand at me motioning me to go outside
"If I were you, I wouldn't keep her waiting. She might come back and throw you out the window" he says and I grunt in pure irritation sitting up again walking out the door stomping over to Akira sensei with a huge grin on her face
"Ready for today Uchiha? This'll be awesome!" she cheers pointing at the sky
"I promise retribution" I mutter to her and she sheepishly rubs the back of her head
"Alrighty then, lets get started!" she says smiling wider and I scowl at her
"Lets get this over with" I mutter under my breath ready for her to start. I'm never going to get to sleep with her around anymore
