(Kazumi's P.O.V.)


"Sasuke! Naruto! Kazumi! Take this guy out! You can do it!" called Sakura behind the mirrors
"I didn't get to him. Then I'll try it again. As many times as it takes. Shadow clone jutsu" said Naruto letting go of my left arm creating shadow clones sending them at Haku again. It was the same result as last time and they were brought down in the blink of an eye throwing even more senbon needles at us almost making me fall back.
"How is he doing that?" asks Naruto
"One more time! Shadow clone jutsu!" he yelled sending off his clones again.
"Kazumi! Give me some water!" said Sasuke. I was going to question why but made the water ball he asked for and passing it into his hand. He throws it up in the air and he looks like he's waiting for something.
"Can't you see that it's useless?" asks Haku taking down the clones, but when he was moving from mirror to mirror I saw the water Sasuke threw in the air was going in different directions. That must mean that he has some sort of a pattern with his ice mirror shifting. If we can track it, there's a chance we have to find his weak spots. That spot left me wide open and Haku threw more needles at me as I tried to hide my face behind my arms gritting my teeth in pain. I grunted being sent back to Naruto and Sasuke and we all fell to the ground.
"Shadow clone jutsu!" yelled Naruto going at him again as Haku gets his needles ready
"*Sigh* Just won't give up" he said jumping out of the mirrors. Sasuke uses his fire ball jutsu firing at Haku as soon as he got close, even though he's fast enough to dodge it I can barely see Sasuke singed his clothes. Haku ran back into one of his mirrors and took out what was left of Naruto's clones once again throwing Naruto into the ground.
"Naruto!" I said grabbing his right arm pulling him up
"I was so close but I couldn't quite get to him"
"Naruto, can you do it again?" asks Sasuke
"Huh? Of course, nothing can stop me. Believe it!" he yelled as all the mirrors start to glow
"Naruto! Run for it! Get out of here and attack from the outside, and make sure Kazumi is with you! Hurry!" said Sasuke as he made rapid hand signs. Naruto hesitated for a second before getting it his plan, as he was running he picked me up bridal style running to the nearest exit
"You can not escape" said Haku. The mirrors glowed brighter this time and in a flash it threw Naruto back letting me go in the process and I skidded over to Sasuke's feet.
"You think you can keep me here? Forget it!" yelled Naruto going to the exit again as Haku got ready and leaped out of the mirrors going at Naruto
"That's it! Fire style: fireball jutsu!" yelled Sasuke spitting out more fire at Haku who charged at Naruto. He saw the flames and dodged them throwing one single needle at Sasuke as he wasn't ready for. Haku stopped Naruto from getting out at the last second but I had no time to think, ignoring the pain in my legs I stood up fast.

'Shink'

I screamed in pain and fell to my knees. It hurt so much! Blood came pouring out of my eye and it was only making my condition worse. Blood was leaking from my eye ball as a needle was stuck right in the middle of my cornea. I had never felt anything like this before but it was incredibly painful. I tried to keep back my screams as much as I could. It felt like it was going slow motion, as Naruto was thrown back landing in front of Sasuke while Haku jumping back into the mirrors. It wasn't really until now that Naruto and Sasuke realized where the needle hit me.
"Kazumi!" they both yelled coming to my side
"Kazumi! No!" yelled Sasuke bending down to look at me better. All of the tears in my eyes were mixing with the blood pouring down my face. He held my head in his arms and looks closer at the wound. As if suddenly realizing what needs to be done he looks at me shaking his head. He didn't want to do it but he knows the only way to stop all the bleeding would be to pull it out, I grimaced at the thought. I gave him a terrified look not knowing how bad this was going to hurt and he looked at me pitifully. I didn't want to do this and neither did he but if I didn't take it out, it was only going to feel a lot worse. I shakily nodded to him to pull it out and he hesitantly took a hold of the needle. Burning pain shot through my eye for someone to even touch it, and as much as I wanted to tell him to let go I knew this was the only way to help me and I prepared myself tightening all my muscles ready for the pain. With one swift movement the needle was out and my body wasn't able to react. White blinding pain shot throughout my body but I couldn't move or make a sound. It felt like I was frozen in place. I couldn't even feel anything after that; it was numb at first. I couldn't feel any part of my body but then the pain came again and my eyes shut on their own. I felt myself start to drift off and the world turned black. Even though I'm not awake anymore the pain was haunting me wherever I was now; a dream, to heaven, but wherever it was, it followed me everywhere I went.


(Sasuke's P.O.V.)

I saw Kazumi crumble to the ground in pain and I instantly ran to her side. I grit my teeth and look at her eye seeing blood pouring out and going down her face, clothes, and onto the ground as she was screaming at the pain wishing for it to stop.
I support her head in my arms and held her close to coax her in some way. Her eye was in a lot of pain and the only way to at least ease the pain was to pull out the needle and not leave it in where she could bleed to death. If we took it out we could bandage it once the fight is done and it would ease the pain somewhat. But I couldn't do it, I'm her brother!
A brother shouldn't have to see his sister in so much pain and agony that he could hurt her even more than help her. She gave me a terrified look and I almost couldn't look at her. She was almost even more scared now than I've ever seen her, even since we were kids. She was terrified. She nodded to me saying she wants me to take out the needle and she gritted her teeth and tightened her muscles ready for me to do it. I reach out my hand to grab the needle and she winced and I knew she wasn't going to be ok if I leave it in.

I pulled the needle out of her eye and she seemed frozen. She didn't scream and quickly closed her still bleeding eyes. I throw the needle aside and glare at all the Haku's form waiting to make another move standing over my sister in a defensive stance.
"You! How could you?!" yelled Naruto
"I was originally trying to hit the boy, but she got in the way. She did this to herself" said Haku
"Naruto. One more time!" I said getting annoyed with this guy
"Go!" I shouted
"Grab Kazumi and get out of here!" I shouted louder. Naruto looked at my feet where Kazumi was sitting with a pained expression before grabbing her bridal style and running to the exit. I turn to Haku and I can sense he's running low on chakra, he was slowing down just a bit. I run the opposite direction as Naruto and wait for my time.
"No more games. I need to stop this now" said Haku running out of the mirrors aiming more needles at me. One hits my leg slowing me down a bit giving him the opportunity to strike me in even more vital spots making me fall to the ground.
"Sasuke!" yells Naruto as Haku throws more needles at him as he drops Kazumi. I heard a really loud scream coming from the other side. It was too high to be anybody other than Sakura.
'That scream, that was Sakura. What's happening to her? Where's Kakashi?' I thought trying to get up
"S-Sakura, she's in trouble" said Naruto laying flat on his face trying his hardest to get up.
'We've go to break through' I thought as I hear Naruto grunt and try to lift himself up from the ground.
"I'll bust us out of here. I'll fake him out" said Naruto as he got up shakily breathing
"You've exhausted my patience" said Haku as Naruto showed off his chakra going to one exit just as Haku was waiting for him he lept out of the way running to the other exits as Haku followed him in his mirrors
"Naruto! Behind you!" I yelled as I saw Haku holding senbon needles aiming at him. Naruto doesn't react fast enough and he's getting hit by all the needles.
"Naruto!" I yell as he falls to the ground
"Your chance of escaping my house of mirrors is zero. That is absolute" said Haku as I ran to Naruto
"Naruto, are you able to get up?" I ask
"Try not to use any more chakra, that's only going to help him now" I said
"I know Sasuke, I know" he said falling to the ground again
'We can't go on like this, he's blocking every move we make. I've got to find a way to out maneuver him' I think
"My eyes have adjusted to his movements"
"Looking for a counter attack? I'll save you the trouble" says Haku holding more needles as he goes to the mirror next to him throwing them at me. I take a second to grab one of the needles on the ground and block all the ones coming at me
"Get up loser. We've gotta team up" I say to Naruto who's trying to sit up.
"I know what we have to do, believe it Sasuke" said Naruto as even more needles come at us and I block as many as I can jumping away from some I can't block. There's one needle that catches my attention. It flies right by me but it's like he wanted to do that. All of a sudden I remember that Kazumi is right behind us still unconscious. I feel my eyes widen and I'm running for her ignoring the pain of the needles flying at my body. Time seemed to go into slow motion and try to catch the needle. I can't reach it. The needle goes into her chest and I feel my heart slowing down. I stared at her what seemed like forever with a needle now sticking out of her chest where her heart is. My heart accelerates and I sprinted to her side and put a hand to her neck where I feel her pulse. It's so slow that it feels like she's dying. But she can't be. She can't die. She can't. I keep my finger there and wait for a sign that she's alright. I let go and go to her wrist silently praying that she's alive but I feel the pulse starting to go down.

'Thump..thump...thump......thump........thump................'

Nothing. Her pulse is gone! He killed her! I can't accept this and I feel my anger boiling with rage and hatred. I glare at Haku and sink to my knees holding her close to me as I feel tears come to my eyes. I hold her close to me and her body is so cold it feels like ice, and her face is pale. She's gone....
"NOOO!!" I yell loudly making both of them look at me
"You....You killed her!" I yelled at Haku
"Wh-what?! What are you talking about Sasuke?! She can't be dead!" yells Naruto
"She is dead! And you killed her!" I yell. I stand up from her side and I suddenly feel a burning sensation in my eyes. All around me I could see... red. Everything was red but I managed to see chakra paths and sense chakra much better than I could earlier. Everything around me shifted and Naruto comes up next to Kazumi. He panics and tries to find her pulse like I did.
"N-no...Kazumi! You can't be dead! You have to wake up! Please wake up!" yells Naruto taking one of her hands.


(Naruto's P.O.V.)

She isn't even breathing, her hand is so cold and I can feel her body going limp, she can't be dead! She can't! She was the only one in the village who treated me like somebody and she was the first one who was thinking about me and how I feel. Everyone else in the village didn't pay attention to me because they told me I was a monster, that's one big reason I did so many pranks and annoyed everyone so much. I wanted people to actually see me, and notice me. Why is it so hard for people to know me and why don't they tell me what they mean when they say monster? She came to me and helped me out. She decided to know me and recognize me as a human being. She was there for me, and I was there for her. And now SHE'S DEAD! There's no way! She's the toughest out of all of us and she hasn't given up yet. Why now?! I didn't even get to tell her how much she really meant to me. Now I can't say anything to her! I hear a grunt and Sasuke is right in front of me with needles sticking out everywhere.
"Y-you look like a total loser" he said weakly
"Why-why did you..? Save me? Why did you do it?" I ask confused
"I don't know why" he said
"I-I just did, maybe it was for Kazumi. Y-you, I hated you"
"Then why? It doesn't make any sense. Why did you...protect me?" I ask
"I didn't ask for this! I didn't ask for you to save me!"
"I don't know. My body just moved, there was no time to think. Maybe it was Kazumi asking me to save you, how should I know?......you loser" he said falling to the ground, before he hit his head I caught him.
"H-he's still out there. My brother, I promised myself, and for Kazumi. I'd stay alive, u-until I killed him. Naruto, don't let.. your dream die" he said as I felt even more anger power through me and his arm fell limp and I stare at his corpse in my arms. I felt tears come to my eyes and I hugged his body to say thank you for saving me, and for protecting me. He's going out just like she had. He protected me and he fought for me.
"He was a true ninja. Worthy of honor. Him and his sister, they saved each other in the end. Is this the first time you've seen a friend die in battle? This is part of what it means to be a ninja" said Haku behind me
"Shut up" I said feeling all my anger and depression building. I set him down on the ground gently
"I-I hated you too Sasuke. And yet." I trailed off as I feel my chakra coming back but in a big blast making me feel stronger than before. With all my anger coming to me and bubbling up in one place the air around me shifted from anger to complete bloodlust and rage.
"You'll pay for this" I growled lowly
"I'm gonna kill you" I said looking at him. I feel my fingernails getting longer, my teeth get longer and sharper and I'm on all fours. He's going to die. He needs to die. He's going to pay for what he did. They'll all pay! All of them!


(Sasuke's P.O.V.)

I can't feel much of anything right now; it just feels numb and cold. It's obviously not any after life, but it's not earth either. Slowly I feel something in my hands and it hurts, I can actually feel something again. Then it spreads all over my body and I feel like I'm in so much pain and I really want to say something but I don't have my voice. I can even feel something really heavy on my chest and it weighs a ton, it's only adding to the pain. I feel myself being pulled away and I can hear sobbing, it sounds like Sakura. I want to open my eyes but I can't, for a good couple of minutes all I hear is sobbing and I can finally open my eyes. It's not that bright but it isn't dark either. I'm still stuck in the mist after what Haku did to me, but wow. My body really hurts.
"Sakura, it's hard to breathe with you on top of me" I said shakily and she looks at me covered in tears. She stares at me another couple of seconds and hugs me
"Sasuke!" she yells
"Tazuna, he's alive! Alive!" she yells hugging me tighter
"Oww, Sakura that hurts" I said straining my voice a little. I did not want to lie down any longer and started to sit up and my body started hurting again as I remember all the needles stuck in my body
"No, what are you doing? You shouldn't move" said Sakura
"Where's Naruto? And what happened to that guy in the mask?" I ask
"Naruto's just fine. But, the one in the mask...he's dead" she says
"He did? But how? Did Naruto do it?" I ask
"I came in late I'm not sure what happened, he protected Zabuza. I had faith in you Sasuke, I knew you'd pull through. You're too cool a guy to stay down for long" she said.
"Hey Naruto! Look, it's Sasuke! He's alright, he's fine!" called Sakura as I stood up, but then it felt like something hit me with a stack of bricks, and right now that would only kill me.



"Where's Kazumi?" I ask
"W-well, I don't know. She wasn't with you when I saw you and the mist was too hard to see in, even through it cleared up some I don't really know" she said and I started to panic. If I'm alive, maybe she is too. I shakily took a step forward and looked around for her. There's no way she could've died if I was alive. Then in the distance I saw something lying down and it was small. I sprinted over to see what it is.
"Wait! Sasuke, you shouldn't be moving so fast" said Sakura behind me but I ignored her and kept sprinting until I finally stood a few feet away from it. It was Kazumi. But she was still lying down and her eyes were still closed with needles sticking out everywhere, blood all over her face and clothes, some of it was dried up but there was still some fresh blood dripping where she was stabbed in the eye. I squatted down in front of her and supported her head in my arms cradling her gently. She was so pale and she wasn't breathing. I took my hand and tried to find a pulse on her hand and on her throat trying desperately trying to find some sign of life. I heard foot steps come up behind me and I payed no attention to who it was and kept quiet and still trying to find her pulse. If I was alive there's no way she would be dead too! She can't be..
"Sasuke!" called Sakura coming closer
"Kazumi? Wh-what happened to her?" she asks but I don't answer and I try to find a pulse. She still isn't showing anything. My heart beat quickened and I held her close to me. She was still freezing cold and it made me shiver but my body temperature was not the issue here. I feel a hand on my shoulder and I shrug it away
"Sasuke" said Sakura
"Go away" I said feeling tears come to my eyes, it was like it was burning. The tears were the only warm part of my body, everything else was too cold.
"Please, S-Sasuke"
"I said go away! Leave me alone" I said as tears come to my face and drip onto the ground below us. I felt like I was standing over her for hours and the sun was setting, I told Naruto to tell the others to go bury Haku and Zabuza without me. I hear more footsteps coming up from behind me and I hear Tazuna and Kakashi sensei gasp at the sight in front of them.

They left to bury them before they saw me and Kazumi. The others sob quietly behind me and most of them so their best to hold back their tears but they can't keep it in very much. I feel something just barely move and when I look down there was the tiniest movement from Kazumi and my eyes are wide open waiting to see if I saw something or if she actually did it. When I look again there's almost nothing and I lose hope until her chest moves up and down slowly, if she were any slower she wouldn't be breathing at all but it was something. She was alive! I hug her tighter and smile lightly as I feel her chest rise and fall very slowly.
"Hey! She's breathing!" yells Naruto running to her side to inspect her closer, her chest rises and falls again and everyone cheers at her progress and Kakashi say it's time to go back to Tazuna's home. I pick her up bridal style and carry her all the way home and she's taking slightly deeper breaths which makes me happy. When we got to Tazuna's home we saw all the damage the house took and Naruto told his story and how he was late.
"Sasuke, I need you to set Kazumi down on the floor so we can inspect her injuries" said Kakashi as I set her carefully on the floor. He pushes her bangs out of her face and looks at her eye to inspect the damage.
When he opens her eye, there was almost nothing, there was still a mark from where she was stabbed but that's about it. I'm confused, how does she heal so fast? Was it some jutsu she tried? Or was it just her body? After he looked closer he just put a bandage around her eye and asked us to leave so he could look at 'stuff' as he called it, I wasn't going to argue about that so I left and as the night went on she showed more signs that she was getting better which provided relief to everyone.

(Time skip)


We stood at the beginning of the bridge finally finished by Tazuna and his men. Most of the town was waiting there for us as we had all our stuff on our backs and ready to leave. Kazumi was doing really good with her injuries but she hasn't woken up just yet. She's breathing normally and she's looking a lot better than when I first found her. I carried her bridal style to the bridge until Kakashi wanted to take over because I was carrying her everywhere.
"We could never have finished the bridge without you, I can't tell you how much we're going to miss you" said Tazuna in front of his other people.
"Do be careful" said his daughter
"And when she wakes up make sure to tell her 'thank you' from all of us" said Tazuna and I nodded bringing my gaze to her in Kakashi sensei's arms, but I noticed a little girl walked up to her and looked at her.
"Ohhhhh, tell onee-chan I said thank you very very much ok?" she asks looking at me. I didn't really understand so I just nod at her and she goes back to her mother.
"Thank you for everything" said Kakashi
"Now now, don't get all chocked up, we'll come back and visit real soon" said Naruto
"You swear you will?" asks Inari tearing up

"Ofcourse. You know Inari, it's alright to cry if you want. There's nothing withthat, go for it" said Naruto tearing up also trying to keep it in
"Who says I want to cry? Anyway, if there's nothing wrong with it then whydon't you do it if you want to cry?"
"No. You first"
"Forget it" Naruto says as he turns around with both of them cryingrivers. Losers. We all start walking on the bridge and I hear muffles voices inthe back and it sounded like Tazuna talking.
"Haha! As soon as we get back, I'm gonna let Iruka sensei whip me up awhole mess of ramen to celebrate a mission accomplished. Oh! And just wait'till I tell Konohamaru about all my adventures, the kid's gonna worshipme" said Naruto
"Hey"
"Yeah?"
"Not you Naruto, Sasuke when we get back do you wanna go out and dosomething together?" asks Sakura
"I don't think so, thanks" I say
"Oh, ok"
"Sakura, I'd do something with you if you wanted" suggested Naruto
"What? Hey! That was a private conversation! Beat it!" said Sakurashaking him by his throat and throwing him off the bridge. I smirk at the sceneand we keep walking. It takes a long time but we finally get back to thevillage at the gates as Kotetsu and Izumo. When they open the gates we walk inseeing Konoha hasn't changed since we left, we walk around until we hit thetraining grounds where we see Kurenai and Asuma sensei's team training. We weregoing to leave until Akamaru smelled us and they decided to greet us.
"Hey guys what's up?" asks Kiba
"Well, we just got back from an awesome mission!!" yells Naruto
"You're as loud as usual. So troublesome" said Shikamaru coming up tous
"What happened to Kazumi?" asks Choji stuffing his face with a bag ofchips
"Why is her eye bandaged?" asks Shikamaru
"The mission we were going on turned out to be an A rank mission andduring a battle she was wounded in her eye and hasn't woken up since" saidKakashi
"I-I'm sure she'll be a-alright" said Hinata softly and I looked ather one more time before feeling a lot of weight on my back
"Sasuke~! You're back! We should hang out together, just you and me~"said Ino. I just glared at her
"Hey Ino-pig! Sasuke's mine and you can't take him from me!!" shoutedSakura
"Why would he want a billboard-brow like you Sakura?" she asks
"Well--"
"Girls, girls. Come one, let's not fight now. We still have training todo" said Asuma
"Yeah, well when Kazumi wakes up, tell her we said 'hi'" said Kibawalking back to the training grounds. We walked around the village again and westop at a park as Kakashi gives me Kazumi.
"Ok, we'll be training a little harder and we'll take a break frommissions at least until Kazumi wakes up" said Kakashi as we nodded andleft. When we got to the Uchiha compound I walk upstairs with Kazumi in my armsand set her on her bed. I sigh putting my hand on her head and got up to leavebut I feel a tug at my sleeves. I look over and Kazumi's eye lids aretwitching, and when she opens her eye she looks right at me. I kneel down toher height and look her in the eye. She smiles at me before I put my armsaround her and hug her, she lifts her arms a couple seconds later and hugsback.
"Good to see you're alive" I said and she wants to say something butshe isn't saying anything, I run down stairs and grab a glass from the cabinetfilling it up with water bringing it back to her room. I hold the glass out toher and she shakily takes it drinking it slowly. When she's done I take theglass from her hands and she struggles a bit at first but finally sayssomething.
"T-Thank y-you, Sasuke" she said in a shaky voice. I nod and push herhead onto her pillow.
"Get some sleep, you look exhausted" I said as she nodded closing hereyes and went to sleep. I sigh and set her katana next to her bed looking backat her before I close her door going down stairs and rinse out the cup. I go tomy room and lay on my bed, I'm at least glad she's ok. I close my eyes finallyrealizing I was really tired going into a dreamless sleep.
