28: 2 months later

I stalked slowly around the edge of the woods my furry form sniffing around .

After my last encounter with Marcel - I needed some time . Without Klaus and his issues.
So I did the one thing I told myself I'd never do - I transformed .

Niklaus can't track me when I'm like this he doesn't know my scent .

Time seems like years passing by without hesitation.

But I know it's only been around a month .

A voice caught my attention from the far end of the woods closest to the French quarter .

I ran off in the direction -

Halting no too far away from an all to familiar figure , but still having myself shielded by the trees not allowing myself to come out just yet .

"Madeline-I've given you time to grieve , but we need you now more than ever I'm afraid a huge threat is coming it may already be here - I-"

He stoped his sentence when I slowly made my way over to his feet

I transformed , back to my normal self . Letting Elijah placed the coat firmly on my shoulders .

He smiled at me breathlessly . "It's been awhile "

I chuckled lightly my voice slightly croaky .

"On the way to the car explain to me more about this trouble " I spoke softly - taking the blood bag from his other hand . That he recently grabbed from his coat pocket .

He nodded and guided me away from the woods that were further away front
He baiu but close enough to the farthest end of the French quarter .

We soon arrived at the residence - "I'll be back down in a few " I stated speeding up into the bathroom.

Turning on the shower letting the water stem Before entering .

15 minutes later .

I walked down the stairs , wearing my ripped jeans and my leather jacket .

"A war is coming -" I listened to a muffled voice .

Keeping my gaze on the steps as skimmed down them .
Spinning around slowly .

I picked up an apple that sat inside a bowl on top of the small table . Chopping down on it .

"Please go ahead help yourself " a chuckle erupted behind me.
I turned around and shrugged

"I'm perched " I smiled, at Nik .

"It's good to see you " he nodded folding his arms across his chest .

I nodded "I wish I could say the same - Elijah filled me in . " I spoke sighing deeply

"Finns back and he just can't seem to stay dead it's a shame - your mother and father are both alive - He mentioned something about Freya ?"
I continued to munch on the apple .

Quirking up my brow . He nodded and licked his lips awkwardly "yes it appears you know it all "

I shrugged in response . Plopping myself down on the couch .

"What he didn't tell me
Is what I'm suppose to do " I spoke simply.

He nodded laughing slightly . "Freya seems to have Mikael under her command , but I still want him dead - Esther she's been long gone . Marcel confirmed that for me "

I choked "Marcel hmm , I presume he's alive then " I stated coughing lightly

He nodded slowly "ahh it was you who brought him to his death bed then "

I smirked and shrugged "what can I say - he had it coming sooner than later"

"Where's that companion of yours Hayley ?" I asked

"Getting ready for her wedding " he poured himself a drink .

"Elijah ..?" I raised a brow confused "Not Elijah , Jackson . They're creating my hybrid army - to protect hope " he spoke as if it was the most obvious thing and drank from his cup .

I nodded "when's this wedding ?" I question just as a familiar witch walked in

"Tomorrow , since Hayley informed me that they finished the rituals or whatever "

"Madeline good to see you "
