•end of the day•
I'm at my locker and as I closed it I see Austin already standing there. He stares deeply into my eyes, a smile plastered on his face and then sighs. I don't break the gaze, I want to breathe in the aroma this situation brings. Or maybe that's just the cologne he's wearing, I'm content either way.
"What," I ask with a small smirk back, "why are you so happy?"
"Because the school day is over," he responds as he looks up to push his hair back subtly.
"Oh," I replied, my smile drops with my voice. I'm starting to realize iI'm daydreaming too much since I was hoping the true reason he was grinning ear to ear was the presence of me, "how do you get home?"
"Ugh, I walk," he rolls his eyes, "Takes so much time. It'll be long and boring"
Wait I walk, the thought echoes in my head.
He tells me what street he lives on. Ironically, It was my street too. Another smile reappearing on my face, for the fifth time today, as he asks me to accompany him for the journey. As we scurry to the first floor, we walk past Daniel, but I ignored his ignorant stares and murmurs. From there on, Austin and I bond faster than ever. This bond with him felt different than the bond I've ever had with anyone else.
"Is this your house" I ask, pointing at a light blue house with grey shudders and a big bay window. Same style as mine, except mine was a different color.
"Yep," he replies, "where is yours?"
"There," I pointed across the street to my pastel yellow house.
"Is that window in your room?," he asks as he mimics my pointing.
"Yeah, how'd you know?," I question surprised, adding a joke, "Have you been stalking me?"
"I didn't, just guessing" he replied, chuckling, "the bay window is in my room too!"
We continue to talk in the middle of the road.More nonsense spilled from our mouth, along with our giggles. The feeling of butterflies in my stomach kept growing faster with each word spoken. I can't comprehend what was going on and how fast this seems to be moving.
"Well I should go inside to my family," I say, taking a stepp backwards toward my house, before my nervous, emotional state could cause me to regret saying something, "I should get going."
"Wait I have a question," he says, taking a step forward, repeating my motions, "We may have just met today, but maybe its because we bonded so fast," He pauses and puts his hands in his pockets nervously before continuing, "I guess what I'm trying to say is would you be willing to go on a date with me sometime?"
My eyes widen, my shoulders drop their tension, and my mouth drops fully, Oh my gosh, if it was raining this could be the perfect movie scene.
