Number 13

Number 13: Being "The Middle Guy".

I'm sure all of you have at some point been "the middle guy" and if you haven't, you lucky bitch! For those you aren't sure what I'm talking about, "the middle guy" is the people who is basically neutral in a fight between, oh let's just say friends. "The middle guy" is the one going back and forth to send messages, they try and get said friends to stop fighting, they're basically Switzerland (twilight reference, I don't even like the movies or books! Blaming my sister.)

I'll tell you a story. Few weeks ago two of my friends who liked each other had a massive fight over something I'm not going to say (it's private!) and I was the middle guy, I'm always the middle guy. And I was trying to help the two friends sort out their problems but all my other friends were taking sides and I was the only neutral person in the fight. It got too much because the fighting wouldn't stop and eventually I stopped getting involved because it was getting too much.

There's a lot of stress in the middle guy if you really think about it because you have to keep up with both sides and you have to actually care about what they are fighting over. Also you have to restrain yourself from ripping said fighting friends heads off. It's a lot of hard work if you ask me.

So why is there "a middle guy"? Because you need that one friend that tries to get everyone to make up and make peace with one another instead of having World War III. You need at least one person with common sense and say "hey guys, you do realised this is a fucking pointless fight, just shut the fuck up and make peace already, we all know you want to!" I've said this more times than I need to.

So what makes a person "the middle guy"? When you see no point in the argument and you just want it to end already. Or you know what is going on and you're trying to help them stop fighting... Yeah, that's hard when the rest of your friends start making up shit that isn't true and that makes the fight even bigger! -.- my fucking god, I need a break from fights.

So if you are ever "the middle guy" just remember common sense, that shit should be solve in less than a day if you use it!
