Stefan and I sat awkwardly in the boarding house, both of our ex's in the room. "Thank's for coming, Ric." I said, taking the opportunity to leave the tense air. "Can I get you something to drink? Coffee? Damon's bourbon Bourbon in your coffee?" I asked.

"Elena mentioned you needed my help." Ric said.

"Yeah. We were hoping you could help shed some light on the Lockwood family." I said bluntly. Stefan and I sat on the couch, Elena glaring at us from the corner of the room, and Damon by his bourbon.

"Well, you wouldn't. But your dead-- not dead vampire wife might." Damon said.

"Isobel's research, from when you guys were at duke together." I added in.

"You said that she had spent years researching this town." Stefan grabbed my hand as he spoke, grabbing the attention of both Elena and Damon right away.

"Isobel's research here-- Mystic Falls-- was rooted in folklore and legend. At the time, I thought most of which was fiction."

I gasped. "Like that amazing vampire story." Despite Damon being pissed at me, I heard him chuckle.

"Aside from vampires, what else?" Elena asked Ric.

"Lycanthrope."

Stefan and Damon looked at each other confused, even though they were pissed at one another. "Wait, like werewolves?" I questioned. I had totally been joking when I had mentioned that idea.

"No way. Impossible. Way too Lon Chaney."

"Is it?" Stefan questioned.

"Yes! You only agree with Misty because she's you're new Katherine replacement." Ouch. "I've been on this planet 160-some odd years. I've never come across one. If werewolves exist, where the hell are they?" Damon questioned.

"Well, why do you suspect the Lockwoods?" Ric questioned us.

"Because vervain didn't effect the mayor on founder's day but the gilbert device did. And it effected his son Tyler."

"And at the carnival, his uncle Mason exhibited inhuman behavior he fought one of the carnival workers. It suggested some sort of supernatural entity." Stefan said.

"We were hoping that Isobel's research could help us figure out what it is."

"Well, all of her things are still at duke." Ric cleared his throat. I mean, her office is still there. She's technically still missing."

"Can we get access to it?" I asked. "We need to know what we're dealing with Ric. If not for us, then for my mom."

"If this woldman thing is true," Damon started. "I've seen enough movies to know it's not good. It means that Mason Lockwood is a real-life Lon Chaney. And that little Tyler punk may just very well be Lon Chaney Jr. Which means Bela Lugosi-- meaning me-- Is totally screwed."

"You sure you want to do this?" Stefan questioned, sitting on the edge of his bed.

"Going to Duke with Damon, Elena, Alaric?" I questioned with the sign. "Ric is a good buffer. So we can bond in our anti-Damon solidarity" I explained. I want to hate Damon, I truly do. But can't. I looked at Stefan from his dresser, he gave me a slight smile, I knew he was angry about me and Damon. How could I blame him? We only been broken up for about a week and me and Stefan are together. "I wish you were coming, though." I explained reassuringly.

"You know what, maybe we should wait a couple of days" He explained. Getting up and wrapping his arms around my waist. "Wait till Caroline's less of a danger, and then I can go with you" He explained.
