The Sacrifice

I bolted upward to the sound of footsteps that instantly went away as I looked around. My bare feet hit the cold ground as I got up and tiptoed into the hallway, my puppy, which in a last minute decision I had decided to call Natalie, followed closely behind me . I looked around the corner expecting to see Stefan playing some trick on me but it turned out that nobody was in sight. Right as I turned around to head back to my very sexy bed I ran into a completely naked Rick.

"Misty" Rick exclaimed, letting out a awkward cough. I looked him up and down in surprise.

"I..Uh, heard something" I explained, trying to hold back a blush. Rick unpleasantly chuckled. Jenna walked over to Rick while scratching her head, lips pursed awkwardly.

"That was us, I'm sorry" Jenna apologized. I shivered in disgust when I thought about my own mother having sex with my teacher. "We didn't think anyone was up, but here you are." Jenna tried to explain. Rick violent shook his head at her, wanting to get her off this extremely unnecessary topic.

"Chunky Monkey?" Rick offered, passing me his bowl of cereal. I looked down at my once favorite cereal with a turning stomach.

"I'm not hungry, I kind of lost my appetite." I explained, trying my best to not look down at his... parts. Rick looked down and his eyes widened, forgetting that he had been naked.

"Well, I'm naked. So I'm gonna go." He explained, rushing into my mom's room. She looked at me apologetically.

"I'm really really really sorry" She explained, practically on her knees begging for my forgiveness. I sighed and gave her a soft smile.

"It's alright, mom. Don't worry about it" I said, almost in my safe zone once more.

"I know he's been staying over a lot lately. Are you sure you're ok with it?" She questioned worriedly.

"Seems like things are good?" I questioned more than stated, a large smile grew on her face as she nodded.

"Things are extremely good" I knew instantly she meant it in more than one way and I instantly grimaced with disgust. I quickly recovered and looked her straight in the eyes.

"Then I'm extremely ok with it. But for me, Elena, and Jeremy. Please make him wear some damn clothes" I begged with a chuckle. She rolled her eyes and nodded at me.

"You don't believe her, do you?" I asked Stefan and Damon, as we stood in the kitchen with Elena and Bethany, the two of them telling us about their visit with Katherine.

"No, of course not. We just want the moonstone." Damon said, tossing an apple back and forth between his hands.

"According to Rose's friend Slater, there's a way to destroy the spell that Klaus wants to break." Stefan said, his arm was wrapped around my waist, and Bethany sat on one of the counters across the room.

"No spell, no doppelganger sacrifice. Ergo, you live." Damon said to Elena.

"And Klaus won't come anywhere near this town." Bethany added.

"How do you destroy it?" Elena asked, crossing her arms.

"By releasing it from the moonstone." Stefan said, although a glance over at Bethany told me that she didn't believe it was true.

Elena sighed. "How do you guys even know this is gonna work?" She asked, walking closer to all of us.

"Cause we have a crafty witch on our side." Bethany said with a smirk, losing all her disbelief.
