  I fucking hate Caroline right now. She just had to be hospitalized, and make me, Bonnie, and Elena in charge of the whole Mystic Falls Carnival. "I mean, Katherine looks just like you, It was freakish." Bonnie told Elena.

"She is my ancestor." Elena drawled off, not really paying much attention. "Hey, I moved the student booth into the cafeteria." She told Bonnie and I.

"Your vampire ancestor, and she didn't just resemble you like a family member would. She was you."

"I don't-- I don't know. I can't explain it." of course she can't. Nobody can explain Katherine. Bethany said. "Ok? It's creepy. It's all I got."

"Well, how do you know she's not still out there pretending to be you?"

"I don't, but I could sit here and be tortured by the not knowing," Elena said picking up a bag of prizes. "Or I could get these prizes to the ringtoss." And we all started to walk.

"Fine. Misty, have you talked to Damon since he killed Jeremy or-- or tried to kill Jeremy?" She asked me

"No, Bonnie, I haven't, and I won't, and I don't wanna talk about Damon or anything else that's vampire-related, OK? Even, if I'm a vampire."

I handed her a giant bag of stuffed snakes. "Copy that." She replied.

"I'm human and I have human stuff to do." Elena added in, saying she was in as well. "Otherwise, we're all gonna go crazy."

"OK." Bonnie said. "I'm sorry. Now focus. We have to make Caroline proud, or she will kill us. I don't know how she does this all the time."

"Well, because she's not human, obviously." I joked.

"Obviously." Elena repeated, laughing.

"Stefan." I said, running to his side. He gave me a smile.

"Hey Mist. What's up?" Stefan asked. The two of us walked, watching as several people set things up all around.

"Nothing much. I haven't seen you a lot these last few days."

Stefan nodded in agreement. "Well, I understand. You're going through alot right now, and we're all here for you if you need us."

"I know. RIght now, I just need my family and my best friend, and then I can get through this, it may take time, but that's all I have." I shrugged. "I may never get through this. Who knows at this point."

"If it makes any difference, Damon's really sorry." Stefan said.

"Could we please not talk about Damon?" I questioned. "He kissed Katherine, and then killed my brother. If I do ever end up forgiving him, it's going to take a lot more time."

Stefan nodded in understanding. "I get it. Sorry. I was actually looking for Jeremy."

I looked at him in confusion. "He's inside the school." I informed him. Before I could ask him why, he had run off.

"So I understand John Gilbert has left town." Carol said to Damon. "Have they found the vampire that attacked him?"

"Well, the sheriff has asked me to take the lead on that, and I promise you I will get to the bottom of it." Damon replied. He couldn't help but let his mind drift to Misty, and how much he had hurt her.

"Which brings me to my next subject." Carol said. "With Richard gone, I'll be acting as interim mayor until the elections, and I'm going to need someone to spearhead the council. I'd like that person to be you."
