We took the tests, and then the doctor left...
So we were waiting and waiting for the doctor to come back in with the results. Finally the door creaked open and there he was. He looked at us with big eyes and a straight face.
“you two are.. not pregnant.” He relieved us. Then he left the room.
“Yes! I so didn’t want a baby. This is great news isn’t it babe?! ” Jamie said excitedly.
“what you’re not upset anymore?! You are just something else.” I said totally annoyed.
Then I stormed out of the room and out of the doctors office altogether.
“babe. Ughh. Nala, come back.” He said running behind me. “would you just calm down for a second.”
“calm down?” I stopped and stood right in front of his car. “How can I be calm after you basically decided for the both of us that an abortion would be our only option if we had been pregnant. I mean do you seriously expect me to be happy right now…” I said in disbelief.
“Nala, its not like that. I just freaked out. I do want to have kids someday but just not now. It was wrong of me to just assume that you would have an abortion. But you cannot honestly say that if the doc said we were pregnant that abortion wouldn’t cross your mind.” Jamie said feuding.
I looked up from texting on my blackberry and said “It definitely wouldn’t.” as I shot him a glare.
“ya right, don’t even lie to yourself. Well, I used a condom. And I thought you were on the pill. Or were you lying about that too. You are just unbelievable.” He said as he became even more heated.
“well condoms rip, smartass. And for your information I am taking birth control! Why are you being such a jerk right now?” I said.
“whatever. I’m ready to go. Just get in the car.” Jamie said, tired of this whole conversation.
“I texted Terra, she’s already coming to get me.” I said just as she pulled up one parking space over from Jamie’s car.
“fine. Suit yourself.” Jamie said half-heartedly, as he opened his car door.
I began to walk towards Terra’s car, “oh and Jamie do me a favor..”
“what is it?” he said.
“don’t call me.” I said firmly.
“no worries there.” He said as he rolled his eyes got into his car and sped off.
Terra drove me home after we had a long talk about what happened at starbucks. She also decided that I was in need of a girls night in tonight.
“Lacy and I will bring the snacks, the movies and the extras. You just bring yourself, since we are doing it at your house.” Terra said with a smile.
