Chapter Five

"Vic? Oh my god. What the-what the hell are you?"

I sped over to him so quickly that it would have looked like teleporting to him. "Don't move," I said softly. He froze.

I walked around him as of I were admiring a statue in an art museum. I could sense the fear radiating off of him and I decided to have fun with this.

"I'm trying to decide something," I mused.

"What are you trying to decide?" he asked stiffly. "Whether you can keep a secret....whether I should let you live." I smiled with my temporary fangs.

Of course I wasn't going to kill him. This kid just gets under my skin, and I wanted to give him a scare.

"I can keep a secret, please don't kill me," he begged.

I cocked my head to the side. "Why shouldn't i? All you've done since I've gotten here is make me angry."

"I'm sorry." he pleaded, trembling. "Please, I'm sorry."

I lifted his black hair from his neck and placed my teeth there from behind. If possible, he froze even more.

"Who's so bad now?"

Kellin POV

Was it wrong to be turned on right now?

Sure, I was scared shitless. But whenever Vic was defiant...he was sexy.

I wonder if he can hear my heart beating.

"Who's so bad now?" He purred against my neck, making me shiver.

"Please..." I breathed, knowing from what I witnessed that he could kill me. "I'll keep your secret."

"I don't believe you." he whispered, letting me go.

"Please! if you explain what you are and let me live, you won't regret it."

He stepped in front of me, his black eyes no longer black, but their regular chocolate brown. His fangs were gone, almost like they were never there.

You could have never told.

"I won't have to kill you later? Killing you now would save me a lot of time."

My heart stopped. He wouldn't really kill me, would he?

"No. I'll keep your secret. I swear on my life, literally."

He stared at me for a long moment before he shrugged. "Alright. I'm a hybrid, half Angel, half demon. Every so often, I have to feed from a human or I die. I have the greatest strength and speed in any species. That's it."

"Um okay," I said, trying to process the information. Hybrid? Demon? Angel? Not human? This was almost too much to process.

How could he say it all so casually, almost as if he were telling me that it was cloudy out right now?

"I'm not gonna lie, this is a little strange," I said, laughing a little bit to try and lighten the mood.

He didn't laugh. "If I find out that you've told anyone about what I am, I will not hesitate to kill you. Got it?"

I swallowed hard, nodding. "Got it."
