Kellin POV

I panted, wincing every other breath. I was pretty sure that a few of my ribs were broken, and I was sure as hell that my arm was broken. I mean, the fucking Demon hit it with a crowbar or something, it was bound to be broken.

My arms were still bound together above my head, the sharp pain in my left arm now a constant dull ache. My feet were still tied together, bruised black and blue from the abuse. I'm pretty sure some of my toes were broken too.

The door slammed and I winced, immediately moving my gaze to the floor. I didn't want to look the Demons in the eye, in fear of what they would do to me.

"Are you ready for another round?" it cackled, picking up it's weapon of choice. This time, it was a whip. I whimpered, feeling my heart rate pick up.

"Why are you doing this to me?" I whispered. "What did I do?"

"You helped Vic stay innocent," it hissed. "He wasn't supposed to feel love. He was supposed to be one of us, he was supposed to feel nothing but anger and hate. But you, no, you helped him keep the Angel side of himself, and for that, you must be punished."

"But he was fighting the Demon side long before I came along!" I cried, tears falling down my face. "I didn't help him do anything! He doesn't want to be like you!"

It spun around and fixed it's blank gaze on me. This time, it's eyes were filled with fury. "You take that back."

I flinched, whimpering. I knew that the beating I was going to receive was going to be ten times worse than the last ones, and I was ready to die.

"Why don't you just kill me? If you want Vic to feel hate and anger, kill me!" I pleaded.

"You know, that's a good idea," it said, smiling evilly. It set the whip down, picking up a crowbar. "Goodnight, Kellin."

I closed my eyes, silently thanking God that it was going to be over.

But then, it happened.

I heard the one voice I'd been craving for weeks.

"Kellin, no!"

Vic POV

"They should be through there," one of the Angels whispered. "This is where they tend to bring all their prisoners. Angels have tried to get rid of this place, but they just relocate. This is the last known location."

"So what you mean to say is that they might not even be in there?" I asked bitterly. Mike frowned at me, slapping my arm lightly.

"Shut up, Vic. They could just not help you find Kellin at all."

"But we aren't heartless," another Angel broke in. "So we're going to do all that we can to help you find Kellin."

I sighed, rubbing my face with my hands. "I know. I'm sorry for all the times that I've snapped at you guys. I know you're just trying to help, but I'm really stressed and I don't want to lose him..."

"You won't, we'll just-"

"Shh," I broke them off, listening closely. I could hear tiny whimpers, and they seemed to be coming from down the hall on the...on the right side.

"Do you hear that?" I whispered. The others nodded, and we stayed silent after that to see what else we could hear.

"Why don't you just kill me? If you want Vic to feel anger and hate, kill me!"

"Kellin," I breathed. He's alive! But I don't know what kind of state he's in, physically or mentally or emotionally.

"You know, that's a good idea," I heard a nasty voice say. My eyes widened and I started sprinting down the hall for the room that I knew they were in, ignoring the cries of my brother and the other Angels to stop.

"Goodnight, Kellin."

"Kellin, no!" I shouted. I burst into the room, seeing the Demon with a raised crowbar in front of Kellin's head. And Kellin, oh, Kellin.

He was banged up pretty badly, his left arm twisting at an angle that didn't look natural. He was tied, his eyes closed and tears streaming from them.

He looked so...broken.

I started this.

And I was going to do my damnedest to finish it.

Without any hesitation, I rushed forward and grabbed the Demon by the back of the neck. I quickly snapped its neck, and dropped it to the floor. It collapsed, lifeless.

I met Kellin's eyes, and he was looking at me with unreadable eyes. His gaze shifted to behind me, and his eyes widened in fear.

"Vic, behind you!"

I spun around and grabbed the other Demon by its middle, plowing it into the wall. It let out a cry of pain, and soon we were rolling on the floor fighting for the upper hand.

Other Demons soon joined in, and I was getting overpowered. I could hear Kellin sobbing out my name, begging them to take him instead of me.

"Mike!" I shouted. "Get Kellin out of here!"

"Not before I help you!" he yelled back, darting in and pulling some of the Demons off of me. The other Angels teamed up and began killing them, leaving us with a few more to deal with.

"Get Kellin out of here!" I shouted again, snapping another Demon's neck.

One of the Angels listened to me, hurrying to Kellin and untying him. Kellin was letting out tiny whimpers, but he let himself be dragged away.

Mike, the other Angels, and I quickly finished off the remaining Demons. I turned to them and grinned although I could taste blood.

"Nice job," I smirked. They grinned back at me, shaking their heads. "Thank you. I couldn't have done it without you."

"It was no problem," the one I knew-Josh-smiled. "We were glad to help."

I smiled at them as they filed out. I turned to look at Mike, who was watching me carefully.

"Should we go see Kellin?" he asked quietly. My heart ached as I thought of what he had to go through, and I nodded slowly.

"Yeah. Let's go."
