The pair knelt so close I was practically on the edge of my seat waiting for this kiss. It was obvious deep down what they felt for one another was true because they were so focused on getting this right. Usually casual affairs between humans are irrelevant to me, but this, this was something true. Asha stands up shakily, Ray's hands at her waist and places her hands on his, so she can stand on her tiptoes and balance. Ray is constantly searching her face with a look of worry, probably at how much these experiences have affected her. Again, their noses brush as they lean in, each breath they exhale quivering in excitement.

Asha, closes her eyes instantly as their lips meet, Ray keeps looking at her and once he is satisfied he shuts his also. The kiss deepens and Asha's arms slip around his neck, his hands grasping at her sides, unsure where to go. They both relax and when they pull apart, they stare endlessly at one another, before kissing again. I smile.

It's about bloody time!

I chuckle loudly and both of them pull away looking around. Oops! I almost gave myself away, I blow some tumbleweed their way and they shrug it off.

The pair walk for what must feel like hours in their state: dehydrated, bruised and with little energy to carry on. So when they reach the first signs of civilisation, they stagger and hurry to find shelter as the first signs of rain occur. They choose the old Anglican church, only God knows when the last person set foot on it's grounds, everything is overgrown outside and it takes both Ray and Asha the last of their effort to rip the ivy from the doors and prize them open.

When the doors scream in protest, they enter the church cautiously, Petal however grunts and runs off squealing in delight. Asha gasps and steps in further until she is below the tallest part of the ceiling. She's looking up in awe at the intricate swirls and drawings that colour the roof and the timbers.

"Ray. Look at this." She exhales. She's still looking up, turning in a circle gradually.

He shuts the door and wedges it shut, walking to join her, he looks up too "I know, its beautiful. That's what heaven is supposed to look like, from the Bible's perspective."

"Really? Its lovely." She's still looking up. Ray is now looking at her in amusement. She looks at him. "What?"

He smirks "You're amused by the smallest of things, it amazes me."

"I'm small. So that means you're amazed by the smallest of things." She replies crossing her arms and grinning.

He laughs lightly "I guess I am."

"If I'd have known Churches were so beautiful I would've escaped home more often."

"Wait, so this is the first church you've been in?"

"Yeah, well I was home schooled. I barely left the house because of my... You know." She motions to her arm.

He nods "you don't have to worry about them. Wear them with pride. They look beautiful on you." Asha nudges him and walks off down a row of benches.

Pew after pew line the hall, and Asha weaves between them, caressing the dark oak and smiling lightly to herself. Meanwhile, Ray walks past her and to the front of the church, where he kneels in front of the alter and begins to mutter to himself. When Asha has satisfied herself with the middle of the church she walks up silently behind Ray and mimics him, kneeling in the same fashion with her eyes shut and hands clasped in her lap. When Ray stands, she turns round and sits cross legged on the floor, he realises her comfort there and sits down with his legs spread in front of him.

"I don't know how to get the the city anymore," Asha sighs and rests her head in her hands "I thought I did by looking at the map I left at the house but I think we are lost. I'm sorry Ray. I failed getting you to a proper hospital."
