The girl and boy break away from one another and she turns to me.

"So you are the cause of all this?" She looks at me hesitantly. I nod simply. Honestly. Her expression turns vacant and then her fists curl up. "You killed my family."

I stutter. I can't reply. Its true. I breathe deeply and brush my hair from my glowing eyes "Girl-"

"I have a name. Its Asha." She snaps.

"Asha... The human race has been pitiful. Landscapes have lost their beauty. This world is filthy. And all you keep doing is destroying it."

"Me!?" She steps forward and I move away. "It might be news to you, but not every single damn human is pitiful. Yes we have our flaws. But you!" Her fist wavers my way and she spits out her words. "You! How dare you blame us when you are the one doing all this!"

I tilt my head at her last comment. "Asha I said I am the cause. I did not say I controlled it."

She frowns "But. I don't understand?"

I sigh "This planet is a force to be reckoned with, I begged her to teach you a lesson, but I did not ask that she-"

Ray laughs nervously and I stop glaring at his rude remark. He shrugs "You said she."

Shaking my head I roll back my shoulders. Humans, so damn cynical. "Yes Ray, I said she, Earth is a vessel that contains you she carries you so to speak. She brought what I asked, but I did not ask her to wipe out your kind. "

Asha is silent and her hand links into Ray's - who is also solemn. After seconds of morbid quiet, Ray looks up "So how do we stop this?"

"You don't, Earth is a force to be reckoned with, She will stop when she feels the time is right. Even if that is when the last human perishes."

Asha looks up this time "How do you communicate with her?"

These children don't know when to accept their fate. "Asha, it is dangerous for me to approach Earth for a simple meeting, I wouldn't think it wise to-"

"I asked how do you communicate with her." Her eyes are stern and her glare is hard.

"Fine, but I warn you the journey is not for the feint- hearted, it takes much spirit and determination to get there as a human." I look at them both questioning their persistence.

Ray nods "Carry on then."

"To get to her you must enter the Aqua regions, there is a place known by us as the Channel or the Devils Docks," they both frown "for humans you may be more familiar with the term that is the Bermuda Triangle."  Their expressions pale and Rays grip tightens around Asha's hand. "Its known for being a ruthless passage to get to her heart and speak to her, many a tale suggest traps and tests are along the way which most likely result in death if not passed. I'm sure you've heard your fair share of rumours but no one comes back from it. If you do, you'll likely be scarred by what you meet." They're still both pale so I shrug "You don't have to do this, you can just go about your lives as normal and enjoy it while you can."

"No." Asha looks at Ray and nudges him  "we got nothing else to live for except each other, we might as well try eh?"

Ray raises a hand and I nod "Do I get any choice in this?" He laughs.

"If you don't want to I will go alone. I can't go living like this knowing there's a chance I can stop this."

"Then my choice is made I guess." Ray's gaze does not leave Asha's, "We go together. At least if my days are numbered, they're numbered with you."

Asha makes a retching noise and the pair burst out laughing, leaving me confused. I tilt my head questioning their sudden outburst but they both shake their heads laughing all the more. I turn away and walk to a cabinet in the hut. "You will need some things to gain access to speak with Earth." I say pulling out three glass balls. They've both regained a serious expression and I smile slightly at how quickly their emotions vary. "In here are three souls, all willing when they were taken, one must be given in order to gain hearing from Earth, she gets lonely and thus this is a kind of payment. "

"How can Earth, the planet, person whatever be lonely when She is populated? " Ray looks amused.

"Humans can not begin to think on the same level as Earth, Souls are better company, they're more open to the depths this world has to offer."

They nod, whether or not that made sense to them is beyond me.

Asha holds our her hands taking the small glass orbs from me "Why do we need three? If only one is needed."

I sigh at what I'm doing and shake my head "A soul is a powerful payment. But also very fragile. You may come across creatures that will accept one and spare you. But if you drop one and it escapes, you will have spares."

Asha slips two of the spheres into her pant pocket and hands the other to Ray who does the same. "Can you tell us where to head first? We need supplies, we won't survive on our own." She looks fierce, her features hard and serious, her mind is set and by the looks of it, so is Ray's.

I nod, "There is a small town south of here. Once you leave however, this sanctuary will fade and I will move on. Chances are this is the last you will see of me. So if anything is of use here please take it."

"Why will we not see you again?"

"I shouldn't interfere with human affairs and I have muddled with you both too much. I have been with you far longer than I should have, watching. Because humanity does have hope. My friends won't be happy with the things I have done, so it is better that I leave you from now on."

Asha nods and Ray finds an interest in the floor. "Then thank you for all that you've done. We might as well rest before we leave If that is okay."

I smile faintly "This is yours until you leave it. I must go however. I have duties to maintain. I wish you both luck."

"And you." Asha never ceases to surprise me.

I walk to the edge of the hut and with seeing my next destination in mind, fade from the world that is Asha and Ray's. I only hope that they are strong enough to survive what is ahead of them.
