A moment later Vivek asks, "Will you not want to know why I said so?"
"Well, I thought maybe because your realization power is a bit slow and finally you realized that I'm beautiful." Said Sasha giggling.
Vivek laughed too and continued, "I'm not talking about your appearance. Not that you are not beautiful at face, your smile is the most beautiful one but what I said a while ago was for the way you talk. The way your thought process is so poetic and beautiful. Its so peaceful to talk to you, and to keep talking to you."
Sasha couldn't stop herself from smiling at this.
"You know, I had read somewhere that midnight conversations are the most real and deep ones. The ones that don't have any mask just a heart speaking to another."
"I think its pretty true, its midnight."
"I think so too."
The conversation went on from peaceful silence and real talk back and forth. And eventually they lost track of time.
Sasha looked at the clock to see 2:20am.
"Vivek, how come you have so much balance on your phone?" teased Sasha.
"I've never had someone like you to talk to."
"Oh please, you did have a girlfriend right?"
"Mistakes happen you know."
Both of them burst out laughing.
Sasha continued, "No, but seriously, You did have a girlfriend right?"
"Yeah."
"So, what happened? I told you my story now its your turn, you tell me yours."
"Sasha, its too late. I think we should sleep." Vivek spoke in his 'Oh-So-Firm' tone. Sasha could sense that talking about his past made him upset.
"Okay I don't want to know. I'm sorry."
"No no, its not your fault. I'm just sleepy."
"Oh..okay."
"Goodnight Sasha." Vivek hung up.
"Goodnight Vivek" Sasha replied.
The next morning, no text message, no call. Sasha left for school and as she reached she saw Vivek near the gate.
"Viveeeek!" She called, loud enough for everyone in that area to hear. He turned behind and waved at her but her face didn't co-operate. She came closer and just stared at Vivek's red eyes.
"What happened Vivek?"
"What..no..nothing, lets go we are getting late."Vivek said he was okay, but Sasha knew he was not. Later that day, Sasha noticed Vivek had been trying to avoid her constantly and thus in the evening she messaged him.
'Vivek, there is an emergency, please call.'
Vivek didn't take a second to call her, "Hello? What happened? Is everything okay?" His voice trembled.
"It is not." Said Sasha.
"WHY?! ARE YOU FINE?"
