"Y/n.. I didn't know you'd be here today.." Carter stuttered.
"Yeah. Same, didn't know you guys would be here either." I forced a smile.
"Well we've got to get going, we have reservations in a little bit." Kian smiled as he wrapped his arm around my waist.
"I'll see you tonight at graduation." Carter reassured.
I nodded slightly and kinda just walked away. It was so awkward now! We couldn't even keep a conversation going! Nessa still didn't look pregnant, she didn't have a baby bump yet, but we all knew she had Carter's baby growing inside her.
"It's a little past noon, wanna stay here a little while longer? Or should we go get something to eat?" Kian asked with a warm smile as we walked back to our little spot.
"Do you think I should go back and talk to him?" I asked ignoring all of his previous questions.
"About what?" Kian asked a little confused.
"You know, like official closure. Just to make things clear that we're not going to get back together, and that I'm moving on and so should he. You know? Like he should stay with Nessa and help her raise the baby. Just so he no longer has hopes and ends up leaving Nessa with the baby." I explained absent minded.
"If that's what you need in order to move on, then go for it." Kian supported me.
"Thank you Kian." I smiled as I gave him a kiss on the cheek.
I started walking back to Carter and Nessa. Carter stood up, while Nessa was still sitting down.
"Carter, can we talk. It's something I really want to get off my chest." I said nervously, as I messed around with my fingers.
"Yeah! Want to go somewhere? There's a little coffee place around the corner." Carter said looking around.
"That works. We'll be right back Nessa." I said as I started walking and Carter followed.
"I've tried calling you, you know.." Carter confessed.
"I haven't been receiving your calls.." I said a little confused.
"Well Cam answered one of my calls before Prom, so he most likely blocked me." Carter said a little disappointed.
I didn't know what to say, so I simply didn't say anything.
"I miss you.." Carter insisted as we walked up to the little coffee house.
We walked in and ordered our drinks then sat down.
"Look, I've had this on my chest for the past couple of days, and I need to say it." I started off.
"Go for it." Carter smiled.
"Carter, I really loved you. And I'm not going to lie, I was hurt when I found out about Nessa. But now, I'm fine with it. In all honesty, I see you with Nessa now and I feel happy for you guys. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that, I moved on, and so should you. I'm really into this one boy, and if everything goes as well as I hope, things will start to look up for me. I see you with Nessa and you really do look happy, and I'm glad. So what I wanted to get off my chest is that there's no hard feelings. I want to remain as friends, and hope you decide to stay here and be by Nessa's side, you know like start your own little family with her and help her raise the baby." I smiled.
