Chapter 1- back to school we go
I sat on the bed looking around, my mother and I had only arrived here a couple days ago the Weasleys, Hermione and the rest of the order were already here. They were try to figure out what they should do about Voldemort’s return, the order was put together the last time Voldemort was around they tried to protect everyone from Voldemort. The door of the room opened pulling me out of my day dream, I looked up to see Ginny.
“have you heard about Harry?” she asked me.
“no, what’s wrong?” I asked worried about him, the prophet had been slating him and what he has said about Voldemort being back he didn’t know yet since Dumbledore gave us strict orders not to tell him.
“he was attacked by dementors and had to use magic in front of that cousin of his, the ministry has expelled him but he has a trial to see if he will be expelled, half the order have went to go get him.”
“I hope he’s alright, the ministry is against him because there frightened because Voldemorts back.”
“you’re probably right.” She said.
“I always am.” I said laughing as there was a knock on the window.
“there’s an owl at the window for you.” She said as she sat down picking up a book to read. I went over to the window and opened it as the letter it was holding was dropped in my hand and it flew away as I closed the window.
I opened the letter to reveal a line of writing:
‘see you at school
D’
I knew who it was off, I had sent a letter to him at the beginning of the holidays thanking him for helping me on the last day of school and that I appreciated it. I had given up on a reply a week later and had given up on him, if he was going to write a letter he should have attempted more than a sentence.
“who was it off?” Ginny asked.
“my dad.” I lied.
“what did he say?” I quickly came up with an excuse
“oh he’s still really busy so he can’t see me off for school.” I lied.
I was standing at platform nine and three quarters with my mam, we had left before the weasleys and I was going to meet them on the train.
“have you got everything?” my mam asked as she looked at me.
“yes mam.”
“I wish your father could be here.” She said as I looked up and saw her.
“I still have you.” I said smiling.
“and you always will, Amanda.” She said putting her hands on my shoulders. “I don’t want you to think that everyone is leaving you, I will always be there, the weasleys will to and if we aren’t around or you don’t feel that you can talk to us, we are always in your heart. Don’t forget that.” I looked at her as she had tears in her eyes.
“I know mam.”
“well you better get on the train.”
“ok love you mam.” I said hugging her.
“I love you too and don’t you ever forget that.” She said as she left go of me.
“bye mum.” I said.
“bye sweetheart.” She said as she walked away.
I stood there staring after her as a stray tear fell from my eye, I was never emotional when saying goodbye when going to Hogwarts, but with already losing my father it felt like losing my mother.
“Amanda Cliff.” I turned around to see Draco standing there with his mother and father.
“Lucius Malfoy.”
“how is Steven, your father?” he asked me with a small smile at the corner of his mouth.
“hes fine, him and my mother.”
“ah yes, bright woman Isla was, held more characteristics than those of a hufflepuff, and your father was quite like me.”
“my father is nothing like you.” I said.
“me and your father have more in common than you think.”
“Lucius.” His wife said from beside him.
“well those are stories for your father to tell you, maybe next time you see him you can ask.”
“don’t worry I will.” I said as I walked away.
