Chapter 13-Hogs head meeting

It had been two weeks since we had convinced Harry into teaching us what we needed to learn, we were supposed to meet that Saturday but I guess it was to quick of a time to arrange it so we waited a couple of weeks, and a lot had happened. The minister had made Professor Umbridge the high inquisitor of Hogwarts and she was taking it very seriously, she had already had set out rules like no music to be played during study hours or being able to fly a brew other than in quidditch practice. The rules were only about to get worse and that is why we were meeting right now, today. oh and she tried to fire professor trelawney to which Dumbledore stopped her.

Harry had told me how he had saw Sirius last night and how he had told him that the minister believes that Dumbledore is making an army.

I was waiting for Ginny and we were going to head over to the meeting spot. Since it was a Saturday we were dressed in casual clothes. I was wearing my jeans, plain t-shirt, jacket and winter coat with my boots and hat, scarf and gloves. It was very cold out today.

“you ready?” I said turning to Ginny. She turnedto look at me.

“yeah, I don't see why we all can't go together, we are in fact going to Hogsmeade.”

“yes but drawing attention to us is the last thing we want before we have even started to learn. What do you think Umbridge will think if she sees a big group of her students making their way to Hogsmeade including Harry. She already doesn't like him she will definitely think we are up to something.”

“that's a good point, sorry.” she said looking at me.

“nothing to be sorry about, now lets go meet Fred and George and we will getgoing.” I said as we left the girls dormitory to meet the boys in the common room.

We were stood in the hogs head waiting for Harry, Hermoine and Ron to show up. It was very cold in the room you could see everyone's breath as they spoke. There were a lot of people here more than I thought would turn up and they weren't all from Gryffindor they were from Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff aswell. We were all wating for one thing, for Harry to show up. Soon enough the door opened to the crowded Hogsmeade and in walked Harry, Hermione and Ron. They looked at the crowd and then at each other, we all stared at them waiting for someone to talk.

“Hi.... You all know why we're here. We need a teacher, a proper teacher. One who's had real experience defending themselves against the Dark Arts.” Hermione spoke breaking the silence.

“Why?” I looked at the person who ushered his response. It was Zachary Smith I had seen him around school.

“Because You-Know-Who's back, you tosspot.” I hid my smile as I heard Ron's reply.

“So he says.” Zachary said pointing at Harry.

“Dumbledore says.” Hermione told him as she looked at him.

“So Dumbledore says because he says! The point is, where's the proof?” he said looking away from Hermione and back at Harry.

“If Potter could tell us more about how Diggory got killed...” I looked up at the boy who said this. I had seen him around school, I think he was in Ravenclaw but I didn't know his name. He felt my stare on him as he looked at me and I glared back. Half the people probably only came here to hear how my cousin died.

“I'm not going to talk about Cedric, so if that's why you're here you might as well clear out now.” he said as he turned to Hermione. “come on Hermione, let's go. They're just here because they think I'm some sort of freak.”

“Harry, wait.” Hermione said as he walked to the door.

“Is it true you can produce a patronus charm?” Luna said as she looked to Harry.

“Yes. I've seen it.” -Hermione

.Blimey, Harry! I didn't know you could do that.” -Dean Thomas.

“And he killed a basilisk, with the sword in Dumbledore's office.” - Neville.

“It's true.” - Ginny

“Third year he fought off about a hundred dementors at once.”-Ron.

“And last year he really did fight off You-Know-Who in the flesh.” -Hermione.

“Wait... look, it all sounds great when you say it like that. But the truth is most of that was just luck. I didn't know what I was doing half the time, I nearly always had help...” Harry said as he was cut off by Hermione. “He's just being modest.”

“No, Hermione, I'm not. Facing this stuff in real life is not like school. In school, if you make a mistake you can just try again tomorrow, but out there, when you're a second away from being murdered or watching a friend die right before your eyes... you don't know what that's like.” Harry said as everyone looked at him.

“You're right, Harry, we don't. That's why we need your help. Because if we're going to have any chance against beating... Voldemort.” she stuttered as she said his name.

“He's really back?” I heard as Harry nodded. I looked to see who had said it. It was a fellow Gryfinnor Nigel he was in his second year. He was also standing with Charlie Flemming who I had met last year.

“we will organise a place to learn and get in touch.” Hermione said.

“until then stay out of trouble and wait for us.” Harry said.

I was making my way to the front to go stand with them when I bumped into someone.

“sorry.” I heard as I looked to see it was Charlie. “Charlie.” I said as he looked up.

“Amanda.” he said smiling.

“no more trouble from Slytherins?” I asked him.

“just the usual.” he said. “i can handle them.” he said as I laughed.

“i bet you can, us Gryfinndors are brave.” I told him.

“i don't think I will be brave if I have to fight you know who.” he said.

“i don't think anybody will.” I told him. “how about when we start training I will help you with what we are learning.”

“really?” he said looking at me.

“we may not be brave but at least we will know what we have to to defend ourselves.” I told him.

“thank you Amanda.” he said as he hugged me and ran off to catch up with Nigel as I walked to Harry and them.

“making new friends?” Ginny asked.

“i always wanted a little brother.” I told her as I smiled.

“nice work you guys.” I said as I turned to Harry and them.

“you think?” Hermione said.

“it did take some convincing but at least we can train now.”

“yeah at least we can learn.” she said as we left Hogsmeade.
