Chapter 6- That's barbaric!

I got back to the the Gryffindor common room and surprisingly Ginny hadn't noticed I was gone, which was a first considering she always noticed. I was currently sitting on one of the armchairs next to Ron and Hermione.

“hey where's Harry?” I asked them.

“Umbridge's office.” Ron told me.

“oh yeah she asked to see him later.”

“i'm surprised she hasn't been to find you.” Hermione said as I looked at her. “I mean you walked out of her lesson surely she's going to come looking for you.”

“let's hope not shall we.” I said as Harry walked in and sat down on the floor in-between Hermione and Ron, interesting himself in a book which was odd for Harry.

“how was it?” Ron asked.

“fine.” Harry replied.

“well what did she say?”

“just the usual as any teacher would really.” Harry told him attempting to carry on reading his book. Hermione who had returned to reading her book suddenly looked up at Harry.

“Harry what's that on your hand?” she asked him. Harry held up his left hand looking at it.

“nothing.” he said putting it back down.

“not that hand.” Hermione said as she lent down and picked up his other hand.

“it's nothing.” Harry said quickly trying to hide his hand.

“did Umbridge do that?” Hermione asked him and when she got no response she continued to talk. “you've got to tell Dumbledore.”

“no.” Harry said.

“Harry you have I must not tell lies written on your hand it's surely nothing.” I said as I read the words that were beginning to bruise. “Hermione is right you have got to tell Dumbledore.”

“no.” he said sternly. “anyway we haven't talked since the end of the term and he has enough to deal with.”

“but Harry....” Hermione started to say.

“just drop it.” Harry said as he counted to try and read his book.

Later on in the night I had made my way to the dormitory that I shared with Hermione, Ginny, Katie and Hayley. Katie and Hayley were still in the common room leaving me, hermione and Ginny in the room, me and Ginny were playing a muggle game I had learnt called snog, marry and avoid.

“ok, snog, marry and avoid Seamus, Neville or Ron.” Ginny asked me.

“ok.” I said making my decision. “well I would avoid Ron he's your brother, snog Seamus and marry Neville.” I said laughing as I finalised my decision and Ginny joined in causing Hermione to look at us.

“i'm sorry but how can you sit and laugh after you seen what Umbridge did to Harry it was barbaric.”

“what can we do?” I asked her. “he told us to let it go Hermione.”

“but she can't just get away with it.”

“i know and she shouldn't.” Ginny said- I had filled Ginny in about what had happened. “what can we do?” Ginny asked.

“I don't know but something has to be done.” Hermione said.

“i agree.” I told her.

“but it can wait until tomorrow.” Ginny said. “it is late, we have classes tomorrow and Umbridge and our plotting aren't going anywhere.” Ginny said as she turned off the light and they both settled into their beds.
