Finishing my studying for the day. I rubbed my eyes and peeked at my phone, Maddie and Camille should be here by now. Letting out a short sigh I got up from my rats nest of a bed and lugged myself out of my room and into the kitchen, as I entered the kitchen I saw Alec near the stove cooking lunch. As he turned towards me I gave him a half-hearted smile, he returned it and put the pan of grilled cheese on the unused burner to cool."Hey." Alec said awkwardly, walking over towards me and leaned against the counter.
"Hey." I replied.
"Are Camille coming over today?" Alec asked warily glancing at the clock. Of course he would ask that, she and Maddie came over every other day around lunch time.
"Yeah." I sighed leaning against the counter next to him. "She and Maddie should be here any minute."
It's been three weeks since Halloween and Camille and Andrew's breakup. Nobody's really gotten over what happened, we barely see each other at all, besides Camille and Maddie coming over here and Ryan and Maddie hanging out every once and a while.
Me and Alec hardly talk either, I mostly have been focusing on school, so the only time we really have long conversations are during meals. It doesn't help that Andrew is Alec's best friend and Camille is one of mine.
Suddenly the door bell rang.
"That's my queue." Alec interrupted my thoughts. "I'll be in my room."
Alec heading to his room and I followed close behind. As soon as I heard Alec's door shut, I opened the front door to reveal Maddie and Camille.
Okay so there's really no good way to say this, but Camille looked like a hot mess. Her hair was tied loosely in a bun, no, a knot. Her eyes were puffy and red, most likely from crying. She was dresses in a grey sweatshirt and matching pants with her slippers still on. It basically looked like she just woke up.
Last week this would've surprised me , actually it had surprised me when she walked in here for the first time looking like this. It was strange though, she usually didn't grieve over a break up for this long ever.
As we all sat on the couch, Camille pulled her knees into her arms, using one arm to reach towards Maddie. "Bar me please."
Maddie unzipped her bad and pulled out three chocolate bars. Handing one to Camille before tossing one at me and opening one for herself.
As I started to unwrap the wrapper on my chocolate, Camille's phone rang. I peeked at the caller ID to see that it was Andrew.
"How many times has he called you?" I asked munching on my treat.
"128." She answered blandly, unwrapping her chocolate bar slowly.
"This week?" I gaped.
"Today." She sighed, crumpling up her wrapper and tossing it into the trash, which would've been an impressive feat if she wasn't in such a bad mood.
"And you haven't answered any of them?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"Nope." She grimaced. "I'm done, I'm just done."
(A/N: did anyone hear a crack just now? Yeah that was my heart.)
A few silent seconds past before she started balling, gripping onto me and Maddie, tears streaming down her face.
"I miss him." She said between sobs. "I miss him so much."
"Then why don't you talk to him about it then?" I asked.
"I don't know! I just don't, I don't know how to deal with this." she screamed. "ARGHHH ITS JUST SO DAMN FRUSTRATING !"
I took a deep breathe in, Camille joined me. She always can keep her cool, were the ones she's broken down in front of.
