"You guys are the slowest people alive!" Camille whined, whipping her scarf in my direction as it flew in the wind."Aphrodite's is right there!" I scolded. "Besides I know I can speak for both Maddie and I when I say that it's nice to walk and enjoy the scenery."
"But I'm starving!" She continued, her eyes wandering the buildings beside her for Aphrodite's chalk sign, lighting up when she recognized a familiar dark haired girl standing out in the cold with her waitress uniform.
"Emily!" Camille called, running up to her. "Thank god your out here, I need your food stat."
Emily looked away from the tall skyscrapers silently, she smiled but her eyes were misty.
"Are you ok?" Maddie asked, putting her hand on Emily's arm.
"I'm fine." She answered. "It's just my mom... she's not doing very well."
"Oh no." I muttered. "What happened?"
"They got all of the cancer out from her breasts, but after a recent ex ray they found that it had spread and it's growing fast, she's really sick." Emily looked down at her feet, trying to hide her sad expression.
"I'm so sorry Emily." I said giving her a hug. "Is there anything we can do?"
Emily wiped the tears from her cheeks and gave us a small smile. "Are the boys coming to meet you today?"
I nodded and her smile widened. "Then I'll hurry up and get you a table, and Camille I'll set your order for Braeden's buttered noodles (Braeden's the cook) so you don't have to wait."
"Thank you." Camille gasped in exasperation. "You are now my best friend."
We giggled as Camille wrapped her arms around Emily's bicep and they walked in through the door, causing the bell to jingle playfully, Maddie and I quickly in toe.
"Emily." I said as she sat us down at a large booth.
"Yeah?" She set down the menus on the table.
"Thank you." I replied. "Seriously, I can't imagine running this all alone."
"I'm not all by myself." She admitted. "I have a few friends who help me out, like Braeden and Piper, and I have you guys, it's always so lively when you are around."
"Speaking of.." Maddie nodded to the door, I turned to see the boys walking in, laughing loudly about something the had been talking about. Alec was smiling wildly, his faint dimples showing on the sides of his face, and his hair swept in all different directions from the wind outside.
I want run my hands through that chocolate colored hair...
Grace please try to control your hormones.
"I am starving." Alec groaned interrupting my thoughts, he sat down next to me giving me a cheeky grin.
As if on que, Emily came over with Camille's noodles, setting them down in front of her as she stared wistfully at the plate.
"Thats just cruel." Alec pouted as he watch Andrew steal a noodle from Camille's plate, much to her dismay.
"Well it's not my fault you got here late." Camille said, spinning her fork into the noodles. "Besides, I comforted Emily the best so I get my food first."
I rolled my eyes as she hummed and took at bite.
"Comforted her?" Ryan asked. "Did something happen?"
