The week had now came to an end and I was really grateful that it did. Juggling school work and processing the fact that I've built a new friendship with Aven was a lot. I was able to steer him im the correct path and have him successfully fufill the rest of the week of school, attending all of his classes this time.
I was very proud of myself for the fact that I've been able to put my aloof personality to the side and openly accept the fact that Aven wanted to be my friend. I informed Mr Johnson of my new found friendship and he was ecstatic. He's been waiting for this ever since freshman year and to finally see it happen and to know that he contributed a huge part in it was a very proud moment for him. I wasn't completely done with my counseling with him, but I've made some huge improvements.
"Jhenea."My aunt called of me. I raised my head from my sketch book that sat with me in the dining room to avert my attention onto her.
"Yes ma'am."I respond.
"Morgan is at the door for you."I stare at her confused at what she just stated. I pointed at myself for reassurance and she indeed nodded her head yes to clarify it.
What the hell?
I raise from my seat at the table, pushing my chair back into place before picking up my sketch book."I'll be right back aunt April."I say to her tugging on my black shirt that rose a bit while I was sitting down. Jeans adored my bottom half causing me to be suitable to make an exit outside.
I exit the dining room making my path through the living room where Kashari laid slumbering upon the couch. I wonder why Morgan came to see me if her queen was right here laying on the couch. Making my way outside I shut the door behind me for a bit more seclusion. Morgan stood propped against the wall with her phone in her hands scrolling through it. Her curly natural har sat on top of her head in a poof with a few strands falling on her face. She and I shared one thing in common, we both kept our hair natural while everyone around us were jamming chemical infused perms and relaxers on to their hair. Her hair grew a bit longer than mines and stood as her signature. No one would be able to recognize her if she did something new to her hair.
"Hello Morgan."I greeted her catching her attention. She noticed my presence before sliding her phone into the back pocket of her ripped denim jeans.
"Hey Jhenea."She smiled widely motioning me for a hug. I was a bit resistant, but I put my curiosity aside leaning in for her hug which only lasted up to five seconds.
The longest me and Morgan made actual physical contact.
Adjusting from the awkward little hug she exhaled a bit of air. "I know you're probably creeped out and confused about why I'm here specifically for you."She chuckled a bit pushing some of her hair out of her eyes.
I nodded agreeing. "Very much."
She laughed finding my tone a bit comical. I stood awaiting for her to finish her laughter spree so she could continue with the conversation. "Well, as you probably know, me, Kashari and Jamilla aren't friends anymore."She sighed looking down at her feet. I'm assuming she was pretty hurt at the fact her bestfriends of ten years all had a falling out. Jamilla and Kashari seemed pretty cool to me just a few days ago while they were in the hallways macking with Aven, but that does explain the absence of their third party, Morgan.
"All of you guys aren't on speaking terms or just you and them?"I question taking a seat on one of the steps the came along with the architecture of the stairs. I sat my sketch book on my lap as Morgan came to join me on the steps.
She sighed shrugging her shoulders."Just me."She says in a distressing tone. "We all know Jamilla will never side with anyone except her leader, Kashari. Then she covers it up by saying it's a loyalty thing."She scoffs with a roll of her eyes. I know she has some much built up anger over the fact she was now friend less due to her pushing everyone else away so she could fufill the needs of the trio. I bet she's regretting it now. She continues to vent. "If anything if it was a loyalty thing, your loyalty would withstand for the both of us not just for Kashari, because we've all known each other for the same amount of time."
