Emily's POV:

It was hanging around the camp that I had selfish loses from Wells death. I was still ill when I was told, but it dawned on me that apart from Clarke, Wells had been my only true friend, and with Murphy gone I don't even have any enemies. I peer over at Bellamy, who I haven't spoken to since the kiss. I mean, how can I? I'm pretty sure he doesn't really like me anyway, he just kissed me because of all the emotions going around that day. Anyway, with not much going on, I figure today is as good a day as any to start getting to know people. I start by going and helping Octavia rebuild the food hut, which had been knocked over in the storm.

"Hey Emily, how are you feeling after..." she trails off, not wanting to say 'after your mental breakdown.'

"Oh, yeah, I'm great. You know, I'm alive and not injured, which is saying something down here," I internally groan at my weak attempt at humour. After about an hour of small talk and building, I see Bellamy and Clarke leave the communications room, and then walk over to me.

"Hey Emily, since me and Clarke have to go and check out an underground bunker, I was wondering if you would be in charge until we got back?" He asks, looking slightly uncomfortable.

"Sure," I reply. "But please be quick, you know what it's like, something always seems to go wrong!" Bellamy smiles, then says,

"Oh, I almost forgot, you can go and speak to your parents now." This stuns me, and I don't even say goodbye as they head off into the forest. I turn and look at the tent, which now seems more like a portal to another world rather than simply a collection of material and poles. Walking in, I see the screen, and also, my parents shocked and overjoyed faces when they see me.

"M,mum? Dad?" I stutter, so overwhelmed at seeing their faces that I can't get much else out.

"Emily, oh we're so glad your ok! Emily, we have something to tell you," My mother bursts, making my heart sink and rise at the same time.

"What?" I frown.

"Well, this might be a bit hard to take in, but, well it's always been your dream to go to Earth, and when we found out they were sending prisoners," my father tails off, while both my parents look at me anxiously.

"You, you got me locked up?" I whisper, not knowing how to respond.

"We new it would get you down to Earth, Em, and you may not have got another chance," My mum smiles. I don't reply at this, I just need more time to think.

"Mum, dad, I have to go, sorry, I'll speak to you again later if possible," I blurt, running out of the tent, tears in my eyes. However, when I leave the tent, what I see makes me think the delinquents have finally gone crazy. People running around, crying, and Jasper hugging a stick like it was all he had left. I walk up to Octavia, and ask her whats going on.

"Some kind of poisonous nut made its way into the food supply, and people are starting to hallucinate." She murmurs, looking distracted.

"Octavia, are you ok?" I ask her, worriedly.

"Yeah, I'm fine," She says as I turn to go. "Emily, wait. I was wondering, well, with Clarke and Bellamy gone and everyone else out of their minds, would you help me let the grounder escape," She asks, looking guilty even though I agree.

"Sure, I don't like seeing him locked up there anyway," I smile.

"He told me not to tell anybody, but he speaks English. Lincoln is his name," She mutters, as we begin to hatch a plan.

After giving the guard some of the poisonous nuts, me and Octavia collect some clothes and bring them up for Lincoln. Just as we expected, Miller, the guard, was totally out of his mind talking to his hand.

"Ok, you untie his legs, I'll get his hands," Octavia whispers, as I grab my non poisonous knife, and saw away at the ropes binding Lincoln's legs down.

"Why are you doing this?" He asks Octavia hurriedly. "They'll know you helped me,"

"You said it yourself, they'll kill you sooner or later," Octavia says, quickly dressing Lincoln in a red hoodie.

"I don't want to put either of you in danger," he gasps, while I pack his bag and give it to him.

"Thank you," He smiles, taking the bag.

"Come on, we have to go now, Emily, you go first so we don't look suspicious, and I'll take Lincoln to safety," She reminds me, I nod, and hurry downstairs and out of the drop ship. To my relief, everyone still seems to be crazy. I'm not completely relaxed until I see Lincoln disappear out of site. Octavia joins me, and whispers,

"Thank you," I just smile, the previous events of the day still haunting me. Luckily, soon Finn and Raven come to their senses, and distract me by joking about all the still crazy people surrounding us. Jasper is still clutching the stick, while Monty complains to him that he can't change the tide if the moon won't cooperate. When everyone is fine again, complaining about headaches, me and Octavia go along with it. If we were the only two not hallucinating, it would make us really obvious suspects. I'm laughing with Jasper about his hallucination, when Miller rushes out.

"THE GROUNDER, HE'S GONE!" He shouts, the whole camp panicking.

"He'll bring more back!" Someone cries, when Bellamy and Clarke come into view, holding up a huge sack.

"Let the grounders come, we've been afraid of them for far to long, because of their knives, and spears. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of being afraid." Then they put down the sack and reveal that it is full of machine guns. Cries of "Woah!" and "Oh yeah!" fill the camp.

"These are weapons, not toys. We have to be prepared to give them up when the guard comes, but until then, they are going to help keep us safe." Clarke says, giving the more series side.

"There are plenty more where these come from," Bellamy smiles. "Tomorrow we start training, and if the grounders come, we're going to be ready to fight."

                                                                                      *

While Clarke has finally convinced Bellamy to talk to Jaha, I go and stand next to Octavia, who is all alone.

"Do you recon he made is?" She whispers.

"Yeah, none of out people saw him anyway," I smile.

"I just - do you reckon his people know he saved me?" She asks, looking worried, I sigh.

"Probably not, and anyway, Lincoln's tough, he can care for himself," I reply. Octavia smiles and walks off, leaving me alone once more to brood about my parents actions. I still don't know if I'm thankful or completely mad at them, its true I wanted to see earth and probably wouldn't otherwise, but so much could have gone wrong. Either way, the fact is either me or my parents could die any day now, and we just don't have time to hold grudges.
