"OH MY GOD, NORMAN!" I said, leaping into his arms. "I'm so sorry." I whispered into his chest, hugging him tighter.
"I know, I know. It's alright. I missed you." He answered, kissing the top of my head gently.
I shot up, wanting to still be in that tight hug with him, but only to realize it was just a dream. I couldn't talk, and I was defiantly not embraced in Norman's arms.
Just a dream. And I'm still alone.
And that's when I remembered my Aunt. How she's gone. Dead. Alone.
That word sums up everything. Everyone leaves me. Alone. Alone. Alone. ALONE! I wanted to scream it out loud. But I couldn't.
"Grace?" A man called from the door.
I sat up straight, my neck aching, but I intently listened.
"You're free to go. We already have your information, so, just get dressed and pay at the front desk." the doctor said, smiling before he walked out.
I breathed a sigh of relief and slid out of bed, rubbing all the sleep from my eyes. I picked up my bag and locked the door as I slipped on some sweat pants, boots, and a blue sweat-shirt.
And that's when the thought hit my mind. Evacuating Georgia.
"Norman!" I mouthed, beginning to run at the door. I slipped into the hallway, and got to the front desk, slamming a hundred dollar bill on the counter. Much like Norman did at the jail.
Once I got outside, I ran up to the street, and realized I had no one to pick me up. I waved down a taxi and swiftly got in, taking out a sheet of paper and writing "TAKE ME TO THE AIRPORT!" In all capitol letters.
He sped off and I closed my eyes. I couldn't bare to last another minute alone in Montana. My Aunt dead, my mom a killer, and Norman not here. A tear slipped from my eye, and I wiped it away.
My throat was aching and I shifted the bandage so it didn't push as hard on the bruise and stitches.
After the ride, I got out and ran to the where they sold tickets. I pulled out the crumpled paper, and in capitol letters, wrote "GEORGIA."
As I slammed it onto the window for the women to see, she jumped and held her chest. She then laughed at herself for getting scared.
"I DON'T HAVE ALL DAY!" I wrote quickly, holding it up.
She sighed and rolled her eyes. "I'm sorry ma'am, but all flights to and from Georgia have been blocked. Did you hear about the outbreak?! Freaky stuff!" She said. "They say it began with some kind of brown medicine that no longer exists..." She explained, shrugging.
Oh my God! I thought as the XGTs flashed my mind. The medicine! I thought. That medicine they gave me. . . It caused Demoxim. There's no point in knowing though, since there is no more medicine to test cures on.
"BUS!?" I wrote in, slamming it back on with rage. She shook her head.
"Nothing." She said, shrugging.
I couldn't help but begin to cry. Tears of pain and hate. Tears for Norman. Tears for my Aunt. tears for Sean. Who knows what they could be doing. My aunt is happy now. In heaven. Sean is probably on a private jet, flying to Hollywood. And Norman? He could have Demoxim. Heck, he could be dead.
I pushed my hand onto my forehead, looking up as I gasped for a short breathe. I backed away from the window, completely and utterly shocked by her answers.
"Nothing." I kept thinking. Nothing. Nothing at all. I bet I couldn't even drive in without being noticed and taken down by a force of police.
Evacuating Georgia, huh? I thought, squatting down as I cradled my sore face in my hands. I sat down all the way with my legs out in front of me, and wept silently. On the sidewalk. Alone.
Just then, I saw a shadow standing above me. It lowered until it was behind me, and someone was squatting behind me. I stiffened as the person's legs curved around the form of mine while their arms wrapped protectively around my shoulders. This stranger was sitting behind me, practically straddling me from behind (But sitting), their arms wrapped around me.
I managed to calm my breathing and opened my wet eyes as the hands in front of my opened to reveal a shimmering golden necklace with a blue stone wrapped in wire hanging from the bottom that had the word "Never" engraved on it. I was speechless as they brought it to my neck, and clasped the chain around my neck.
I sat there, looking down at it, still wondering about this over-passionate stranger. Their hands wrapped back around me, and took my small hands in their's. I could feel there breathe against the back of my neck, inches away. The body around me warmed up everything inside me and outside since it was so cold.
"You're not alone." They whispered into my neck, ending the sentence with a kiss.
I almost pulled away, but something told me to stay. I didn't know who this was, or why they had just given me a necklace. And most importantly, I didn't know how they just read my thoughts. I had no idea on what was going on until the right hand held a pinky up and he whispered something else.
"I pinky swear." Norman whispered, locking his pinky with mine.
(A/N: PLEASE READ!!!!!!! OK This is officially the shortest chapter I have EVER written in my entire life.... Anyway, I went back and changed the XGTs to a group that beats the women instead.... WHy? Because I just felt as if that was a bit too explicit for this romance book... So, yeah, you are welcome to go back and read those chapters, but I didn't change much. Just switched the idea from "pleasure" to "let off steam" Ahaha, ok, well, I hope you like this INSANELY SHORT chapter, and I'll update soon! Also: Comment what you think and on another topic, wish me luck on this huge science project I have... Thanks! :) Bye friends!) -Writingslayer
