The next day was devoted to meeting the people in the camp around us.
We walked around with Rugger on an old rope and talked to the people about how we got there and how well we've been doing on our own.
"Well, to be honest, terrible. We've been doing absolutely horridly." Norman explained to a women named Paris. She had extremely long brown hair that fell straight, and her eyes were gray.
"The thing that kind of made us begin having trouble was when," Norman paused, looking at me. He was debating whether or not to tell about Sean kissing me. "I got stuck in a tree running from Walkers. Some made their way to the bus, so, to save me, Grace had to climb out the top and jump down to get me. She rolled, and a knife cut her side open at the same time as she hurt her ankle."
Paris looked me over, examining the old bandage around me and inspecting my swollen ankle.
"Oh dear!" She gasped.
"Yeah, and then, some people in this group called "Akin"--" Norman was cut off by Paris's wide eyes.
"Akin!?" She exclaimed loudly.
Multiple eyes became alert, and shifted to us.
Paris shook her head at the people and continued. "They've killed at least five of our group! They think they're better than everyone else. Did you all get inside?" She asked, eager to find out.
Norman shook his head and I furrowed my brows. Pulling Norman aside, I whispered my thoughts.
"Why don't you want them to know we were inside?" I asked.
"You saw how dangerous they were. I don't want to put you in danger any longer, and neither do I want these good people to get hurt or killed. Akin is crazy." Norman explained.
But I disagreed. I mean, I understood. I didn't want these people hurt, either, but what would happen if Akin came back and remembered us for escaping? Would they kill us since we know where and how they're held up? Or would they capture us?
Either way, I didn't want them to come back. I thought it'd be easier to just take them out. And then, we'd have a ton of ammo and supplies.
"Yes. We've been in." I said, turning back to Paris who had an expression of eagerness on her face.
I could almost feel Norman glaring at me, but I ignored him. If this group wanted to be safe AND have food and supplies, then we needed to push in and take Akin out for good.
Norman nudged my arm, but once again, I acted like he wasn't there.
Paris's eyes lit up with joy and she clamped her hands together up by her chin. "Wow! You think you could help our group get in and take them out?" Paris asked.
I nodded, "But first, I need some help with this and that. And him." I pointed to my side, ankle, and then Norman's injury.
Paris nodded seriously, "Of course." She said.
After a brief silence, she walked away to spread the news to the other group members that we hadn't met yet.
I looked up and my eye caught a glimpse of mountains.
"We're in Montana?!" I asked, turning to Norman who was kicking up some dirt with his shoe.
"Colorado." Norman said, looking up.
"What?!" I was confused.
"That's why I didn't want you to say that we've in Adin! Because we didn't! We went into AKIN! Apparently, Adin and Akin were once ONE group and split up. Adin is in Colorado and Akin is in Montana. Understand?" He asked.
