"How hard did you get hit?!" Auntie Beth cut in, or at least, that's who I thought it was.

I shrugged, and my head fell to the side.  But that only hurt me worse.  I winced and pulled my head back to the uncomfortable position.

Everything was so dark and blurry and I could only see the really lit-up places.

"Where are we?" I moaned, trying to look around.  But it was no use.  I couldn't see a thing.

"At the car store.  The person who hit you, he was trying to kill you.  I had to kill him.  It was another scavenger like us." Sean explained from my left.

Someone's hands encased my head and pulled it forward so they could see what was wrong with the back of my head.

"It's Beth," She clarified.

It felt like I was leaned against a wall on the cold ground, and I could hear a lot more than I thought was happening around me.  I could hear crickets and I could hear a crackling of what sounded like a fire.

"The guy must've hit you hard enough to damage something that helped you see.  You can't see anything?" My Aunt asked, backing away form me.  I shook my head, and moved my left hand around to try and figure out what was round me.

I felt Sean's leg, and pulled away from the wall, feeling in front of me.  Norman had to swiftly pull my hand away before it hit the fire that was glowing in front of us, and he gently leaned me back against the wall.

"Am I blind?" I asked quietly.

No one answered, almost scared to face the truth.  Scared that I would get mad, or that this disability would finally break me after everything.  Scared that I might lose all hope of every healing.

"Get some rest." Norman said, pulling my head onto his lips as he gently kissed my cheek.

I slid across the wall and my head landed in his lap.  Before I knew it, I was asleep, scared of the day to come and what it would bring.

When I awoke, it was the same as when I woke up earlier.  My eyes confused me.  Were they open or closed?  I couldn't tell, and I couldn't tell if anyone else was awake.

"Norman?" I called in a loud whisper.

No answer.  I began to feel my hands around and panic.  I couldn't feel anything, and felt like I was dreaming.

"Norman?!" I called again, this time, my voice louder.

But instead of silence, I got a growl in response.  And with the past week of hearing that noise, I knew what it was.

I began to kick around, giving myself a headache.  My hands scrambled around the ground, landing on some cold piece of metal, and I ran back into a wall.  Clutching the metal thing that I had found, I scrambled to my feet and listened to where the growl was coming from.  It was a lot closer than I expected, and it got to me before I could plunge the weapon into it's head.

I screamed as I fell to the ground, hard, and the Walker bent over me, his arms reaching for me.  I managed to get my knee in between me and him, but it was no use.

"NORMAN!" I got out one more scream before I began to cry and yell.

Struggling for my life, I felt the Walker lifted off of my knee and thrown to the ground.  The pleads of Sean trying to calm me down scared me since I wasn't expecting someone to help me.  All I heard was the splatter of someone killing the Walker beside me, and I began to tremble.  I had no idea what was going on, and could only go by hearing and feeling.

"Where were you?!" I called, being pulled into the arms of Norman.

"I'm sorry, I was asleep.  I thought we cleared this place out." Norman explained, holding me tightly.

I didn't hug him back.  I was too stiff.  And cold.  And scared.  My heard was beating and my head was hot.  I couldn't believe that just happened.

We all sat in the room, silent, until I calmed down and we all stood up.

"Is it day?" I asked, moving my head around.

"We're inside, but yes." Sean laughed from behind me.

"You ready to walk?" Norman asked.

I nodded, doing my best to look in the general direction of where I thought he was.

He kept his arm around me while we took a couple steps forward.  I felt dizzy and couldn't tell which way was forward or to the side.  I couldn't tell if I was leaning forward or back, and I defiantly couldn't tell where I was headed.

"You're doing great." My Aunt cheered.

I felt that I was doing good until Norman pulled away and let me walk on my own.

"Oh my God, wait," I said, trying to reach back and grab him.  But he had dashed away too quickly.  I stood there, not knowing what to do, and feeling as if I was about to wobble over and fall to the ground at any moment.

I felt a poke on my back, and I knew it was Sean poking me with the other side of his shovel.  "Walk!" He laughed.

I smiled and began to walk.  "I'm a natural!" I joked, reaching my arms in front of me to see where the wall was.

"We need to get you one of those Katanas like Michonne uses." Norman laughed.  "So you could use it as a weapon and a blind stick!" He said.

"I think it's called a White Cane." My Aunt interjected.

"Same thing." Norman joked, coming back to help me.

"So where do we find one?" I asked.

I could feel everyone looking at me.  "It's not that bad of an idea," I said.

"Good point." Sean says.

"I think I know where we can get one." Norman said.  "On our drive from the air port I saw a weapon store.  Blade store, to be precise.  I'm sure they'd have one there." Norman explained.

"Then let's go!" I said.

And with that, all four of us were rolling four tires down the street to the bus, preparing for another journey.  And I kept hoping and praying that it would be a safe one.
