My breathe was beginning to slow, and the longer I stood there staring back at my Walker Aunt, the more impatient she got to get to us. Sean was forced to jump in front of me and shoot her so I couldn't see; through the door.
"SEAN!" A yell came from somewhere behind us.
"Norman?" Sean yelled to nowhere in particular.
I looked around and when Sean's name was called again, I was sure it was Norman. Without telling Sean, but simply pulling him along, I ran towards the direction of the sound. Sean caught on pretty fast, and he broke gently from my grip and ran up to beside me.
"Sorry about"-- He began. We both slowed down, and I nodded.
"We should find Norman." I said, trying not to think about Beth.
So me and Sean began running again, the dust irritating my nose and eyes. Every time I coughed, it would remind me of when I had Demoxim, and I was doing everything I could to not keel over in a heap of nightmare.
Sean rested his hand on my back as a sign of saying 'you alright?' and he looked down at me.
"You need to rest?" He asked, our running coming to a stop.
I didn't answer, but I looked up, staring back into his eyes.
Without warning, the thoughts of the past flooded my mind in a rush: The thought of kissing Austin and running from Norman, the anger of when my mother came back to hurt Sean and my Aunt, the memory of the fun time me and Sean had after Norman kissed that lady, the fear and pain building up inside of me when I was in the XGT house, and even the sensation I got when Sean kissed me on the road. With this wave of memories fueling my body, and without thinking, I stood up on my tiptoes and slammed my lips onto Sean's.
At first, he resisted, trying to pull away and acting like he didn't know what just happened, but as the seconds passed he relaxed a bit.
"SEAN!" Norman called out once again, snapping me back to reality.
I gently pulled away and turned my head to face the ground. "I'm sorry," I mumbled, barely above a whisper.
Sean looked around, the scratched the back of his head. "We should go get Norman." He said, his words slow and punctuated.
I nodded in agreement and walked past him, towards the voice of Norman. Sean followed me, and once again, we were fighting through the crowds of Walkers and dodging incoming bullets like nothing happened.
The hallways seemed more complex by the second, and the dust only thickened. It was difficult to maneuver through all of the chaos, and it was hard to tell which figure was a human or a Walker. I'd begin to shoot everything I saw in the head, since I couldn't tell them apart.
Norman's voice got more intense, and after what seemed like years of navigating the halls of this war zone, we finally got to Norman. He had pulled his shirt up over his face so he coulnd't breathe in the smoke and dust, and his leg was pinned under a large piece of ceiling.
"Get him out of there. I'll cover you." I spoke flatly to Sean.
Sean agreed, and bent down and began to clear rubble and debris off of Norman's left leg.
"Do you know what happened?!" Sean asked.
Norman shrugged. "They said they were a safe group called Akin, I don't know some guys last name, but apparently, they're against any newcomers. Maybe they thought we were a threat, and started to shoot, but when the herd of Walkers came through, they didn't stop shooting."
