When I opened my eyes, the first thing I noticed was the pain in my side. I flitted my eyes down and realized I didn't have a shirt on, but my whole upper body was wrapped in a tan coloured cloth wrap. The room around me seemed to spin, and when I looked to my left, I saw Beth sitting in a nice chair. To my right was Sean and to the foot of the bed, standing up, was Norman.
"Where's the bus?" I asked causing everyone to look up. My voice was hoarse and low, and my breathing was labored.
Sean spoke up first, "We had to leave it. The tires got stuck again, and since you broke the window, there was a threat of the cold and more Walkers reaching in."
I tried to move my foot around, which resulted in more pain. "What happened to me?" I asked curiously.
"You passed out." Beth said.
"Well, I know that, but how? And what happened after that?" I clarified.
"We took you in, pulled the knife out, and wrapped you and your ankle up. Then these people came by out of luck. We told them you were hurt and they brought us all to their group. They've been nice to us so far." Sean explained.
I sighed, and looked down at Norman expecting him to say something.
"What do you want me to say? Thank you for saving me?" Norman laughed after he snapped his sentence. He was acting as if I didn't help him. As if he did all the work. And once again, he walked out, but this time, when he got out the door, I watched as his body went limp. I watched as my boyfriend got shot.
"Oh my God," I whispered to myself, my ears starting to ring.
To me, it looked like he was shot in the rib, but I couldn't tell quite yet.
I couldn't tell what was going on. Maybe an attack, or just a misunderstanding, but whatever it was, there were more gunshots.
Sean pulled me to the ground out of safety, and I was objecting until the window behind us shattered. It was an attack.
All I could hear was screams and more guns, and when I heard my Aunt's scream, I stood up, pushing Sean off me.
My ankle ached and my side shot pains throughout all of me, but I did my best to let adrenaline rush in and I crawled over the bed. Once I got to her, I looked down and all I saw was red. It soaked her shirt, and dripped to the floor, coming from her heart.
"No, no, no, no, no," I whispered. "You'll be okay, I promise. Come on, let's go. We have to go to the bus." I pleaded.
"No," She let out a long sigh and gave my hand a quick and reassuring squeeze.
"No, you can't leave me!" I whined, gripping her arm. "Too many people have left me." I said between clenched teeth, with more of a yelling edge to my voice.
But by then, it was too late. Beth had stopped breathing and I realized the bullet had gone straight to her heart.
I did my best to stay calm, but I couldn't. I needed to hit something. Throw something. I needed to freak out.
The longer I sat there with tears pouring from my eyes, the more bullets rang through my head. The one that hit Sean, the one that hit Norman, the one back at Norman's house when my father captured me, and then, the cries. The weeps. The pleads. And it all seemed to come from the XGTs home. All the surrounding girls being beaten, and me being beaten to a bloody bruise, my Aunt's yelp when she got shot, and even the moans of Walker's.
"Grace!" Sean's voice snapped me from my hallucinations world, and I realized that the Walker's snarls were real.
So not only did I have to leave my Aunt, and not only were we being attacked, but we had to escape Walkers as well. I was guessing it was another herd of them roaming through, but however they got into the building, we had to get away from them.
I was saying goodbye to my stiff Aunt when Sean grabbed my arm and pulled me to the door. We had to crouch down and avoid being shot.
"Guns." I murmured.
Sean nodded, "Yes they have guns." He was thinking I was till shocked. But I wasn't.
"No, guns." I said, pointing to a shelf with guns stacked on it.
"Oh. Nice." He said getting up, grabbing an assault rifle for me and another for him. "Okay, you open the door and cover me. I'll get Norman." Sean said. I nodded and rested my hand on the doorknob, slowly opening the door.
"One, two, three!" Sean said as I swung the door open, popped to my feet and began shooting at every person and Walker I saw.
the gun had quite a kickback, but I got used to it by the time me and Sean and Norman were all making a beeline for the exit door.
I hadn't had the chance to ask Norman what had happened, but it looked like he was completely fine. He didn't look hurt or bruised, he just looked a little shaken up.
We got to the end door, and Norman tried to open it, but it was stuck. We all began to desperately push on it, but nothing was happening. We were wasting time trying to open a stuck door, so we turned the corner and began running again.
Shooting at Walkers and humans, I could barely tell where I was going. Norman and Sean split up a while back and I was left with Sean. The maze of hallways seemed impossible to figure out, and me and Sean found ourselves back at the room where we started.
"Where's Norman?!" I asked Sean, aiming at a Walker and shooting.
Sean shrugged and pointed his gun at another human but I stopped him. "What if it's Norman?"
"Good point. Let's not shoot at anyone until we find Norman." He said.
Just then, the sound of a snarling Walker from the room we were in made me spin around. I peeked through the small window in the door, only to find myself staring into familiar eyes. My Aunts.
(A/N: Sorry for the rushed chapter. It might've been confusing to keep up with..... But I hope you enjoyed. Not my best, but whatever. Mmmkaybye) -Writingslayer
