This is an AU where everything around you is dull and grey until you meet your soulmate. Lol, enjoy~

"Oh great, school." you complained as you lazily walked to school, looking at the ground and kicking at an empty bottle.
Hearing voices in the distance, you looked to your left, seeing various different couples latching onto each other like leeches.
You scoffed and turned your head away, looking up at the dull blue sky and looming clouds. The dull colours were to be expected though, you hadn't found your soulmate yet.
"Pfft, this soulmate bullshit just seems so fake." you mocked, sighing into your scarf. It was around November right about now, and you honestly loved the cold weather at this time of year.
Gripping the strap of your bag tighter, you shuffled into school and went to sit down in your usual spot, by the sakura trees behind the school. All of this "lovey dovey soulmate shit" as you'd like to call it, was getting to your head, so you scraped out your phone and earbuds from your bag, and plugged them in.
"Honestly, why can't everything be in full colour anyway? It's not like me, myself am like some sort of 'ink' and then my... 'soulmate' is the other brighter 'ink' that makes everything better, like some sort of shitty, old printer." You scoffed, disregarding the thought. "Okay, that sounded stupid. Did that even make any sense?" You added, talking to no one in particular.
You whacked your head against the tree and closed your eyes, taking in the fresh air. After a few moments, you opened your eyes again, thinking out loud. "I wonder whe-wOAH"
your whole body tensed up, a blue, yellow, and white kind of object just barely missing your nose. Looking to your right you saw the object roll to a stop gracefully, realising that it was a ball. "Yeah, it wasn't that graceful when it was zooming past my head, was it." You pouted, looking in the direction in which it came from.
"(First name)-chan? I'm so sorry!" The oh-so familiar, not to mention annoying, voice yelled to you, making you turn your head. "Oh, Oikawa-senpai." You stood up and bowed politely, going to grab the ball for the brown-haired setter and passing it to him. "Thanks, (first name)-chan! Why are you over here by yourself?"
You took a deep breath and sighed, digging your hands into your pockets. "This whole soulmate crap's starting to get to my head. Its just— you see it everywhere and it's honestly gotten so annoying." You admitted, exhaling softly. There was a few seconds of silence before the setter chimed in "Awwww~ has (first name)-chan not found her soulmate yet?~" He teased - i honestly won't hesitate to punch you, You trashcan. you thought, shooting a cold glare at the boy.
"Trashykawa!" A voice boomed as footsteps drew nearer and nearer on the frozen grass, making crunching noises each time a step was taken, attracting both your's and oikawa's attention. "G-gah! So mean, Iwa-chan!"
His black, spiky hair waved in the wind as his short-sleeved shirt rose a little, exposing some of the boys' stomach. Luckily for you, it was a pretty windy day. (You're welcome. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) )
'Those arms tho...' Subconsciously, you ended up staring at his godlike arms, a tint of red painting your cheeks. Unbeknownst to yourself, you were shivering as the cold air touched your skin; Both Oikawa and the 'iwa-chan' boy noticing."Hey, are you okay?" 'Iwa-chan' stepped forward, looking kind of concerned. "Y-yes, I'm okay, I'm just cold." You reassuringly nodded, a small smile tugging at your lips. "Wanna watch us practice, (first name)-chan?" The brunette asked, tucking the volleyball under his arm. You thought about it for a moment, crossing your arms and averting your gaze. "Sure, why not." You shrugged, Iwaizumi going on ahead.
"Hey, You know how you were talking about soulmates?" Oikawa whispered to you, as you two were both following behind.
"Yeah?"
The brunette pointed at the boy in front of you both and smirked.
"...."
"You're kidding?!"

"Where were you this morning?" (Bff/n) turned their head to you, munching on a sandwich from their lunch box. "N-nowhere," you responded hesitantly, taking a sip from your juice box.
"A-and don't speak with your mouth full!"
"Do you think (name)-chan will ever find her soulmate?" (Bff/n)'s boyfriend asked, snaking his arms around their waist. "I don't know - maybe. I mean, i hope she does." (Bff/n) thought out loud, latching onto their boyfriend as per usual. You, normally didn't mind, but you just weren't in the mood today.
As the two love birds conversed, you looked around, scanning the area for a certain brown haired setter. Luckily, he was there and made eye contact, yelling over to you. "(First name)-chan!" Oikawa chirped, waving and jogging over to you. "Oikawa-san!" You stood up, walking the rest of the way to him.
"Haha! Come on, let's go!" You turned the brunette around, pushing him off in the other direction with a forced smile plastered onto your face until you both turned the corner.
Sighing, you put your hands on your knees and breathed out heavily. "Oh my god, that lovey-dovey air around them two was honestly so suffocating I just–"
You were cut off by the sound of snickering coming from Oikawa. "W-what are you laughing at?!" You barked, grabbing his collar and bringing him down to your height, making him laugh even more.
"You really don't like all of this relationship stuff, do you– hahahaha!" It was like he was laughing at you and he was, so you had to resist the urge to punch his pretty face once again.
