Surprisingly they hadn't assigned any other agents to guard my room. Another idiotic mistake the League has made. My hands are still glowing as I run blind through the hallway. Soon the curtain of aura holding Sam would disappear. Time was ticking. Argon had never prepared me for a mission like this. All I had to do is get a copy of blueprints to give to Argon and I'd gain my honor back. At least that's what I hoped for.

My dreams were crushed when blaring alarms ring out. My hands instantaneously press against my ears to block the thunderous screeching. Red strobe lights then pop out of the walls, causing red streaks to flash over the walls. Sam had to be loose now. He would eventually find me, that much was certain. The time to find some blueprints was fading. I push open some double doors that lead into a wider hallway. A few hospital staff wearing scrubs are walking in the hall.

A few of them cast me funny looks as I push my way through them. Then again I was wearing a hospital gown and sweat pants.

"Stop right there!" a man with a low baritone shouts a command.

My feet skid to a stop when I approach automated doors that only opened from the other side. 'Authorized staff only'

I grumble a few choice words under my breath. My eyes scan the area, noticing no escape. They then flicker to the ginormous man sprinting toward me. His impressive arm muscles rippled under his rich brown skin. There was no doubt in my mind that he was terra endowed.

Just when I thought all hope is lost the doors swing open behind me. I don't think before running through them, ignoring the protests of the individuals passing through. The doors shut mere seconds before the terra endowed agent can reach the doors. I hear a loud smack as he his palm hits the glass. I pretend to tip an imaginary hat at him just as he brings a finger to his ear, no doubt calling for backup.

My footsteps echo down the hall. This wing of the hospital was dead. The hairs at the back of my neck begin to prickle as the nerves set in. If I didn't escape soon...no- I couldn't afford to let those thoughts consume me. I would get out of here. Argon would praise me. The League would crumble to the ground in flames and ashes.

"Chloe!" a familiar and very angry voice proclaims.

I glance over my shoulder. Sam found me quicker than I thought he would. Then again he knew the terrain-I didn't. Plain and simple.

My strides break into a sprint. This hallway was quite long, but my excellent 20-20 vision spotted doors up ahead. That would be my exit, but first things first. Sam needed to be slowed down. An aura sphere forms in my hand. I glance over my shoulder again. A smirk forms across my lips as I throw the ball of energy backwards. The sphere bounces from wall to wall, gaining momentum until the force reaches its intended target.

My ears pick up a groan and I was confident Sam got hit. My newfound confidence shatters as soon as the air's temperature changes. Darn him. This guy just wouldn't quit. I glance over my shoulder again, not paying attention to the door opening ahead of me. I nearly collide with the woman wearing navy scrubs as she steps out, her back facing me. My reflexes kick in just in time. I miss the nurse's shoulder by a few centimeters. A startled gasp escapes her lips.

A revelation pops into my thoughts. Sam was not too far behind me and what better way to slow him down than to attack the nurse? He surely would stop to help her. Chills dance across my skin as the temperature in the air drops significantly. The next thing I hear is my aura sphere crash into something. My curiosity eventually gets the best of me.

Sam had formed a wall of ice in front of the nurse. For the moment he had lost his gain on me. Sensing my presence the automatic doors open slowly. I slow down just enough so that I can wedge my slim form through the small opening. I was in the clear for now, that is until a young man steps into the hallway.

I skid to a stop, keeping my hands down at my sides. My entire body tenses. Cockiness radiates off of the young agent. His liquid hazel eyes slowly run over me, sizing me up. A shadow of a smirk tilts one side of his lips up.

"Sorry little girl-but I'm afraid you have nowhere to go." He says, his voice is low and confident.

Burgundy flame swirls to life in his palm at the same time blood red flames form in mine.

Moments before I throw a fire ball at him I express smugly, "that's what you think." You won't see what hits you.

I'm back! Sorry for the long wait. Ever since I got back from vacation everything has been hectic. This chapter is kind of short. The next one will be longer- I promise. I'm hoping to update the next one tomorrow evening, so stay tuned.
