Cerise Alston and her parents moved to a different to a different state for James' job, never to visit their dear friends like promised. Like most relationships in life, they fall apart and lose contact. Brenden and Cerise continued to live their lives with both happiness and sorrow, simply without each other's support. Because of this, they did drift apart from their childish personalities, in ways both good and bad. The chapters in the book are plain and short, only because it is supposed to be the prequel: the explanation. The sequel--or really the first book in the series--to this is much more meaningful to the title of the book and will include more information about the characters and what happens throughout their lives.
