“You look happy.” Mom says examining me.

I roll my eyes at her. “Am I not allowed to be?”

She jokes and rubs her hands across my cheek. “It’s that boy, the famous one, isn’t it?”

I shrug. “We’re just friends.”

She gives me a witty grin and walk out my blue painted room. I growl into the large white pillow and slowly all I could do was laugh. I did like Jake. He did make me happy. Every time I saw his face, I forgot all about all the things that have ever broken my heart.

“Hey” Jake shouts when I walk outside, “took you long enough.”

I giggle nervously and walk over to him. “Sorry, my mom was keeping me inside.”

He hugs me quickly and pulls me in his house behind him.  The house was beautiful. The walls were covered with painting I’m pretty sure my family could never afford. The couch was a dark shade of green and the floor covered in soft warm carpet. I could just stand there forever and wrap my feet in it.

Jake gazes at me and laughs. “It’s not that amazing Mac.”

I cross my arms. “Your famous, none of this is important to you. When you’ve had my life, the slightest things can make your day.”

He takes my hand and pulls me on the couch next to him. He wraps his arms around my neck and lets me rest my head against his chest.

“Mac, why are you so afraid to let people in?” he asks letting his eyes meet mine.

I sigh. “My dad cheated on my mom and they got a divorce. Then my sister fell madly in love with this guy and he broke her heart.”

He wipes the lone tear rolling down my cheek. “I would never break your heart Mac.”

I look quickly at him. His lips were small and pink, curved into a beautiful smile. His brown eyes twinkling in the light, watery from the sad story I told him. If there were any definition for beauty, Jake was it. I move my lips closer to his, just a few inches away. I could feel his cold breath pressing against my skin. He pressed his lips quickly against mine. His lips were soft and cold, his breath minty.

My heart was hurting but in a good way. All the emotions and feelings I was keeping inside began to pour out turning me into a love struck teenage girl.  I was falling.
