"Crap! Damn!" Jennifer screamed as she jumped to another tree.
The landships had crushed the trees, now Jennifer and Grim were exposed. Shots were fired at them. Jennifer casted a spell shield in front of her, blocking the bullets.
"I guess we'll have to kill them!" Jennifer yelled at Grim.
"Beware of the landships, take down as many musketeers as possible, then we will make our escape." Grim responded.
Jennifer nodded and they went down and battled the musketeers. Grim took out two double-edged sword and began killing the musketeers, her robe protected her from the bullets, it was bulletproof courtesy of a mage that enchanted it back when she was little. Grim was extremley agile and excellent with swords. She could even slice some of the bullets. Jennifer on the other hand, was a very talented mage, after the great war, her powers remained undoubtebly powerful.
Jennifer took out a spell book from her messenger bag. She opened her book and held it on her left hand, while her right hand, created a spell circle around the arm. She then read the enchantment 'Explist' and from her spell circle, three rays of light came out and attacked a landships. The rays of light penetrated the landship then Jennifer closed her right hand in a grip causing the rays to explode and destroy the landship. The shock wave was immense. The musketeer nearby the landship were thrown back.
"Nice job." Grim said as she went near Jennifer. "If you could now create a smoke or cover for us to escape, that would be great thank you."
"We could just destroy the other one too while we're at it." Jennifer suggested.
"No, the longer we take here, their reinforcement will arrive faster. Get us out of here!" Grim advised.
"Right." Jennifer said as she placed her spell book back on her bag and summoned her magic staff then created a cloud of smoke. "Now is the time, let's go!"
The two ran with the cover of smoke and escaped. They headed towards The Lost Forest. "Say, what is in the lost forest anyway?" Jennifer asked.
"A lost friend and also our base camp." Grim replied.
"My mana is back, I can teleport there and here I give you a spell to teleport, just read it and think where you want to be. I'll see you there." Jennifer explained. "I'll hold your hand so we teleport to the same place." Grim agreed and they teleported to the lost forest.
"Alright, where to now?" Jennifer said. They appeared in the middle of an open grass field in the middle of the forest. "We wait." Grim said then she whistled. Not long after, Feliones appeared around them.
"What are those?" Jennifer jumped a bit.
"Felione, the dwellers of the lost forest, also my friends." Jennifer made clear. A felione approached them two, he had a belt with a sword and a dagger on each side, it was Zyx "Long time no see milady." He said as he bowed. "Greetings Zyx, it has been a while." Grim replied. All the other Felione also bowed.
"I guess you really are the daughter of Sir Fergus." Jennifer joked.
"Well, this is who I am." Grim giggled. "Zyx, take us to our camp." Zyx and the other felione escorted Jennifer and Grim to the rebel base. "How did you come to gather men and women to join you and better yet to be allies with Felione?" Jennifer wondered.
"I'll explain once we get there." Grim said. Not long after, they arrived to the base, there were dozens of tents set up and hundreds of men and women strolling around the camp. As they walked through the camp, people stopped what they were doing and bowed.
Grim went to her tent, which was the biggest and was at the deepest part of the base. "Aren't you going to do a big speech or something?" Jennifer wondered.
"Nope, I've done nothing yet. I've only returned from a not so long travel." Grim explained.
"Ah, I thought--- never mind." Jennifer said. Grim took out a map of Enndorcsia and placed it on a table. "Alright, we have plenty of cities to visit and convince to join us. We failed at Floran City, now lies the dangerous part of this mission, we need to go to the end of the land without borders, near the borders of the kingdom and recruit people from there. Then we move inwards towards the lost forest. If we succeed, we should add our number to a strong two thousand men and women." Grim adressed Zyx and Jennifer.
"We can't go in many numbers to each city, just three to each city would be suffice. I believe it is time for the felione to resurface to the Enndorcsia, it has been too long." Zyx advised.
"What about the shadow summoner? How do you plan to get him out of Andeena and join us?" Jennifer questioned.
"Wait, might that shadow summoner be a young man by the name Zuno?" Zyx asked. "Yes, you've met him before?" Jennifer replied. "Aye, he and an elven girl went through here before they head for Floran City. A powerful man he is, he single handedly killed all of Ravenrock Scouting Legion and even knocked out some of my men in the process. He is dangerous." Zyx exclaimed.
"I'll pick him up myself. I have a few connection in Andeena that will help in his escape. And Zyx, when I get back and bring him with me, tell your men and women to welcome him. I know what you told him last time he was here." Grim demanded.
"I'll ask Jennifer to accompany me to get Zuno out, she is a mage, I'm sure she had been to Andeena before, am I right?" Grim went on. "Yes, I have been to Andeena a couple times during the Great War. Can't believe I'm actually going back there." Jennifer confirmed.
"Good then, its settled. All that is left is to inform our people of the plan. Remember, keep a low profile, don't engage to any of the kingdoms unless it is a life or death matter. Do I make myself clear?" Grim ordered.
"Aye" Jennifer and Zyx replied.
"Good. Dismissed, we will leave at dawn. Get some rest." Grim said.
Jennifer was brought to a tent not far from Grim's. She went inside, it had a carpet for bed and a pillow with goose feathers fillings. She laid down, "Long day huh?" She said to herself. She then remembered the battle back in Floran City just a few days ago. Tears began flowing on her face as she had a glimpse of Gaious and Damien's face. "I'll avenge you two, I promise, even if it is the last thing I do. I will make things right." She mumbled as she slowly closed her eyes.
"I'll make things right."
