Chapter 26: The Rise of Feliones

The next morning

Zuno and the bartender spent all night discussing the possibilities of gaining men and women and retake the city. Grim dismissed what she saw last night and decided not to tell anyone about it.

Zuno had made an agreement with the bartender to gather the most influencial people to the bar, since now Ravenrock army are outside the city, they could make secret meetings inside.

"I still can't believe they would fall for it so easily." Zuno said as they all had breakfast at the inn.

"Well sometimes the brawn might not have the brains after all." Grim joked and they all laughed.

"We should not underestimate them, they might have a few tricks up their sleeves." Zyx advised.

After breakfast, the team split up and silently spread the word about the rebellion throughout the city. Now what is left for them to do is drive off the Ravenrock army out of Floran City area to allow the rebel to establish a base there. After a few hours of going through the city, representatives of the people met at Annie's Inn. They had two people guarding the door and also be a lookout in case Ravenrock patrol approached them.

"Thank you everyone, for coming here. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Grim, leader of the rebellion and daughter of Sir
Fergus. Let's get right into it yeah. Desperate times calls for desperate measures, the kingdoms are struggling for power and domination throughout Enndorcsia. We, the free people were stripped off  of our freedom and were forced to pick a side in the war in order not to get annihilated. I and a few people have decided to rebel against them and have gained a powerful ally, the feliones. Now it is time for us to show the world that we would not be silent when our freedom is taken from us. We will fight back and reclaim what is ours!" Grim addressed. The people nodded and agreed, they didn't clap nor shout.

"I propose we eliminate all Ravenrock forces here and now. We shall have Zuno use his shadows to kill all the people inside their landships, then we hit them hard with all we've got. Grim can provide support by firing fireballs at the musketeers to scatter them. As for the others, we charge and eliminate all until they are driven back to their kingdom." Zyx suggested.

"I guess I can make it happen. But first we must take out the patrol silently, and have some of our men dress up as them. Only then our plan will work." Zuno added.

"I agree, we should do it. How say you?" Grim asked the others.

"Aye, I shall have the best men ready at your signal. May the Gods protect us." The bartender said.

"We shall begin immediately, at dawn we shall strike, warn the others to take shelter and ready the men with any weapon they have." Grim ordered.

The meeting was dismissed and they all returned to their houses. Just as the people left, the patrol squadron entered the Inn. "What is going on here?" A soldier asked. There were 5 soldiers on patrol.

Zuno casted shadows to block the exit and surrounded the soldiers. "What madness is this?" The soldiers were confused. In the midst of confusion, Grim and the shadows swiftly stab the soldiers under the chin, killing them instantly. "Right, that is settled with, get five men here to change outfits and tell them to be on the walls." Grim said.

The night went by fast, none of them got any sleep. They were all nervous for dawn. Now it was a few minutes till dawn, men and women had gathered behind the walls nearby the gates, Zuno was hiding on top of the wall, ready to do his job. The feliones were front in line, they would charge with their might and break the musketeers' line.

Zuno looked down to Grim as she signalled him to begin the mission. Zuno popped his head a little over the walls, but what he saw was not the army that had left days before. Larger number have gathered outside of the city. Zuno panicked and ran to Grim. "It is not the same army, there are more of them." Just as he said it, Landships began firing at the walls and cannons were fired at the city.

"We stick to the plan, Zuno take down as many landships as you can. He knelt down and placed his palm on the ground, his eyes turned all black and black lines appeared from the ground going to the landships.

"Shadows!" A Ravenrock soldier yelled. Ten landships were immobilized by Zuno's shadows, he then went on and on. Grim jumped on top of a building and summoned her magic staff and started firing fire balls at the army. "Open the gates!" Zyx yelled. The gates opened and the three feliones rushed to the Musketeers' lines, behind them 100 or so men and women charged. They wore usual clothes while wielding swords, pitchforks, axes, and spears. There were 30 landships and 300 musketeers on the other end. The odds were never in their favor.

After disabling the landships, Zuno charged to the battlefront with 5 shadow figures beside him. Grim had burnt the landships that were disabled by Zuno, but there was still 15 landships remaining and a few canons. It was a slaughter, the musketeers easily shot most of the men and women charging, only 20 men and women remained with the three feliones, Zuno and Grim. Now they were surrounded. "Haha, you think we would fall for such stupid tricks?" Jik laughed. "Now you all shall die and also the people inside the city even the children. Say goodbye" He ordered the musketeers to prepare to fire.

But then the ground suddenly shook and roars were heard from behind the army. The felione folks all came charging from the lost forest, some were running on four and some on two legs. They quickly broke the musketeers' line and killed most of the musketeers. The tide of battle has turned. The feliones only were 50 people strong. Now Commander Jik and 20 musketeers were surrounded. "Who's laughing now?" Grim said. "Return and never come back! Tell your king, this city is ours!" She yelled. The remaining Ravenrock army fled the scene. The people and feliones cheered and roared in victory.

"We heard you roar and came to help straight away." A felione said to Zyx.
"Thanks mate." He replied.

The people in the lost forest all came out and entered the city, they had taken the remaining muskets, cannons and landships.
It was now dusk.

"The true power of the feliones huh." Zuno said to Grim.

"Yes, they truly are powerful." She answered. They both looked at the sunset and smiled.

"Father would have been proud." Grim said as tears came from her eyes.

"Indeed he would, you did great." Zuno comforted.

"But we lost many men and women out there, I guess that is the cost of war." She said.

The dead were given proper burial whether they were from the city or the Ravenrock army.

"ZUNO! GRIM!" Familiar voices were heard, Zuno and Grim looked down to find Jennifer, Arya, Wize and Sam waving at them and placing a big smile on their faces as they entered the city.

"That is what we get from doing what we do, happiness." Zuno said.
