Luna:
3:45 PM.
“Looking for attention, again?” my ‘friend’ spat. I shuddered. I felt like somebody was pounding my head with a mallet, asking to be let in while I refused.
I couldn’t stand up. I grabbed onto my friends leg, trying to scream for help, but she stomped on my hand, and yelled for me to get away.
Then, I felt a hand on my back rubbing up and down, and a soft voice began whispering soothing words to me.
“It’s alright, calm down,” whoever she was said. Who was it? A few moments later, my breathing began to steady, and I looked up through my sweaty, matted hair. My first stereotypical thoughts were, wow, it’s a blonde. But as I looked closer, I saw that her eyes were red and watery, like she had just finished crying, and her voice was raw.
She helped me up, and gave me a small smile accompanied by a small nod before walking away. That’s when I remembered her name. That skinny, pretty girl. Lyra.
I quickly got up, avoiding the stares of the people who had formed a circle around me, and the silent glare of their phones, undoubtedly recording the whole thing.
When I left the building, I checked my own phone. I had gotten a message from an unknown number inviting me to a party.
I had a science test tomorrow. I mulled over it for a bit. If I studied, I would just be looking at material I’ve seen before. If I don’t, I could have fun and forget about everything at the party. I bet there would be alcohol. It was a college party, after all. Science was easy, or was it? I hoped it was.
