Chapter 9

Italics: thoughts

A/N: Some of this may not be accurate since I haven't seen these episodes in a while. Also I've changed some of the events slightly.

Normal POV

Anko explained and had them all sign waivers in case they died. Each team received either a heaven or earth scroll. As soon as their gate opened, team 7 rushed in. Luckily they came across a team from rain village with an earth scroll. They had gotten the heaven scroll and easily subdued and took the other one. Naruto was relieved they had gotten it so fast, the impending danger was probably nearby. After a little more distance, they stopped and took a break. Suddenly a giant snake tackled Naruto away from her teammates. After some distance, she managed to find some footing in the trees and successfully attacked the snake. It disappeared in a large poof of smoke and she rushed back to her team to find them defending themselves from that "woman" from earlier. She ran past her team to rush at their attacker, he was taken aback by her sudden appearance.

"What do you want with my team Orochimaru of the sannin?" She asked. Orochimaru smirked and shed the skin he was disguising himself with.

"Nothing in particular" he lied/hissed at her, glancing to Sasuke behind her. She took notice of his gaze. Quickly making a few chakra enforced clones and one to support Sakura, she told Sasuke to run. He was hesitant but nodded as he realized she made more clones and would follow. Naruto took out a flare to notify the examiners of Orochimaru's location. Naruto's clones lasted long enough to get away, so they rested in by a rock that semi hid them from view. Something moved in the brush and Sakura through a kunai in that direction, it was a squirrel, and it ran away.(the one with the paper bomb) Though soon after 3 sound village ninja appeared before them.

"We've been ordered to eliminate you, so prepare to die!!" Yelled the one man as he charged at Naruto with a weapon. Naruto easily parried his attack with a kunai. She quickly glanced over to see Sasuke holding his own and Sakura fighting a losing battle as she was being held roughly by her hair. The female nin was about to end her life when a green blur came from behind and kicked the woman harshly, causing her to let go if Sakura's hair. Naruto finally managed to subdue the enemy but was a little tired. Sasuke found a way to defeat his enemy that was draining his chakra. Sakura wasn't able to do so as Lee had defeated her attacker. They gathered around after the injured enemies fled.

"Are you guys alright?" Asked Lee.

"Yeah thanks for saving me Lee" Sakura replied.

"No problem" he said with a thumbs up.

"Thank you for helping bushy brows" Naruto told him.

"A...as long as you're not hurt it's fine!!" He exclaimed.

"But you are" she said pointing out a small cut on his face and approached him. She put her hand by his cheek as it started to emit a green glow. When she removed her hand the cut was gone.

"Ah! No it was nothing!" he said touching his cheek where the cut had been and a blush on his face.

"Yeah thanks" Sasuke said with a dark aura surrounding him.

"Lee come on!" A voice said from the trees.

"Sorry but I must be going now, please take care!" Lee said before disappearing in the direction of that voice.

"You guys come over here too, you have wounds too no?" Naruto said oblivious as always.
