Normal Pov

The advancing gennin were told that the final round of the exam would happen in a month. They were free to do what they wished until that time. It just so happened that all the Konoha teams had decided to meet up at one of the training grounds after everyone had healed. Kakashi, Kurenai, and Asuma were there as well going over the recent events. Naruto was listening to their conversations until she suddenly disappeared.

"Huh? Where did Naruto go?" Sasuke asked.

"Oh she's probably hiding" Kakashi replied nonchalantly.

"Why would she be hiding?" Ino asked.

"She probably felt the chakra of someone she knows, he did say he would be coming back soon" Kakashi continued.

"Whose returning to the village?" Shikamaru asked.

"Jiraya-sama is"

"Why's Naruto so excited about him?" Sakura questioned.

"She hasn't seen him in a while, plus she kinda looks up to him."

"Naruto...looks up to this guy?" Sasuke questioned out loud picturing some heroic figure.

"Yup he'll be here soon enough, though Sasuke, personality wise don't expect very much of him"

This statement popped the image running through all of their heads. Just then a white haired man appeared next to them.

"Yo!" He said. He looked around but did not see who he was looking for.

"Where's.." he began only for someone to tackle him from behind before he could finish.

"Pervy sage!!!" Naruto exclaimed mid tackle. Jiraya stood up not really surprised.

"Hey kid you missed me" he grinned.

"Yeah I did" she smiled.

The other rookies looked confused and of course Sasuke was jealous.

"So who are you anyway?" Sasuke asked. Jiraya grinned and pulled something out of his pouch. It seemed to be a confetti popper. He handed it to Naruto as he began his little dance and summoned a medium sized toad.

"I am the toad sage... JIRAYA!!!" He ended and that was Naruto's cue with the popper. Everyone watching sweat dropped.

"Good job kid right on time!!" Jiraya grinned as he rubbed Naruto's head. Naruto enjoyed his praise. The other gennin looked skeptical.

"Why does Naruto call you pervy sage?" Sakura asked.

"Cause he's a pervert" Naruto explained bluntly.

"Hey!!! " Jiraya exclaimed, "I'm not just a pervert I'm a super pervert!!"

This made the children grab Naruto and back away. Naruto was very confused as they gave him a strange look. That's when Kakashi stepped in.

"Despite that fact, Jiraya-sama is actually one of the strongest ninja in the village. He is often away because of his information network"

"Well anyway kid I've come to help you train" Jiraya said "so let's go".

Naruto quickly followed him as they left the training ground.

"Why would she be so attached to a guy like him?" Sasuke thought.
