002 || The Girl

Kean's POV

The past is all behind me, and I'm free from those days I hid myself. Ngayon, andito na ang tunay na pagkatao ko, subalit hindi ibig sabihin nun ay gagamitin ko ang kapangyarihan ng pagkatao ko at ang pangalan ko para lang makuha ang gusto ko at katakutan ako ng karamihan. Ipagpapatuloy ko parin ang pagpapatunay sa aking mga magulang ang pagiging matatag ko para sa kagustuhan ko.

I'm here at my dad's school, De La Rosa University. He said that I should come back tomorrow to tour the new students before the first week of school. I just agreed kasi hindi naman tungkol sa pagmana ko sa school.

Sinabi ko na sakanila na gusto kong tumayo sa sarili kong paa, and dad agreed. Hindi siya katulad ng ibang mga tatay sa mga books and movies, na pipilitin ang kanyang anak sa family business. In fact, he was proud of me, and that he saw himself in me. Kaya full support sila sa desisyon ko at di nila ako pinilit sa pagmamana ng school, besides, they still have my little sister Talia and my... Never mind. Talia can run the family business.

"Rhoi, I may have agreed to your proposal, but that doesn't mean that I'm out of your life. I'm still your father, at kahit natutuwa parin ako dahil nagawa mong tumayo at ipaglaban ang sarili mong kagustuhan ay kakalimutan mo ang gampanin ko bilang ama mo. Alam ko na kasi ang sasabihin niya. Well alam ko naman yung dahilan nila ni mommy. They just want someone they can trust to take care of me in the future. Well I don't blame them if they're pushy. Ever since high school, wala pa akong niligawan or kahit pinakilalang babae sa parents ko. I was too focused on my studies that having a girlfriend never crossed my mind.

"Dad, I will never forget that I'm still your son, I respect you and mom. And yes dad, I will think of that topic soon. I know you and Mommy are just looking out for me. Don't worry Dad, I'll find her soon, she be here by my side, guiding me and supporting me of my decision. She will be like mom, my right hand and my true love."

Pagkatapos kong masabi yan ay kitang kita mo ang proud na ngiti niya. "We're so proud of you anak. I see you've finally grown to a smart young man. I can see that you will have a bright future ahead of you." Mom entering Dad's office, I know she heard that speech of mine. It was her idea of me having a girlfriend.

Mom gave me a light kiss on the forhead and smiled at me. "Our son is gonna turn out great. He's just like his old man, aren't you?" sabi ni Dad, with a wink.

After that conversation with them, tinext ako nila Andre na pumunta daw ako sa park. Kaya sumakay na ako sa jeep.

Since I'm being independent, hindi ko dinala yung kotse ni dad. I commute. Nagwowork din ako para makapag-ipon at makabili ng sarili kong kotse. Kaya sa ngayon, ganito muna ako.

Sumakay ako sa tabi ng driver at napansin ko na may babaeng maputi at brunette ang buhok at nakaheadset. She's wearing a Black sweatshirt and white shorts, but it really looks good on her. Ok what's this? I shrugged it off. Di ko nalang siya papansin at magsusuot nalang ako ng headphones.

Maya mayang unti, biglang tumawag si Michael.

Me:Oh Pre, asan ka na?

Him:We're here at the park waiting for you. Eh ikaw? Asan ka na?

Me:Nakasakay na ako, hindi ko ginamit yung kotse ni Dad.

Him:What? You know you'd be faster if just brought it. Plus, how could we set you up with a girl? How will a date happen?
