I'm in pain Catherine. Why won't you help me? Don't you see I'm suffering? I'm screaming as loud as I can, but you wont listen. Im so cold.
I opened my eyes and quickly jerked up. I was in my bed.
What the hell was that?
I thought to myself. I wasn't sure if I was dreaming or not, I don't remember. It sounded vaguely familiar to Jaden's voice and the thought scared me. Chills ran down my spine and I felt something cold run down my cheek. A tear.
I was crying?
There was so many questions forming in my head, and I had no idea what was going on. I snapped out of my thoughts when something abruptly opened the door, it was Jaden.
"Hey, what's going on? Are you okay?" He asked worried, walking up to me and sitting by my side.
"I....I heard......" I stuttered still not knowing what happened.
Jaden just looked at me confused and worried.
"Nothing....it was just a n-nightmare." I managed to say.
"What did you dream about?" He asked a little calmer.
"I uh......fell.....off a cliff." I couldn't think of anything smart to say.
Jaden chuckled a little, "Okay scaredy-pants. I made breakfast so if you don't want to eat cold eggs then I suggest you go down to eat now, you look pale." He said getting up and walking downstairs.
I rushed up and went to the bathroom. I washed my face then gathered my long brown hair into a pony tail. I was very pale indeed, but I didn't want to say anything of what I heard, I was still uncertain if it was just my imagination. I went downstairs and entered the small kitchen. There was a old mantle on the table and a yummy looking meal. I love when Jaden cooks, he always makes me want to have seconds, and even thirds.
"Today we have some freshly cooked eggs from the farming stand, with whole grain toast, crunchy bacon, and a 100% natural orange juice with a little of mango added. Brought to you by the one and only Jaden Sage." Jaden said sounding like a commercial or a fancy restaurant chef.
"Thank you very much Mr. Sage." I said with a fancy tone and a big smile.
My fanciness quickly disintegrated and I gobbled all my food and almost the plate. I looked at Jaden with my mouth full, his smile was gone and was now replaced by an open mouth.
"Jesus Christ! At least enjoy it you animal!" He said looking very surprised at my extreme hunger.
I just giggled a little and grinned at him. I washed down all my food with that delicious orange juice and patted a napkin on my lips like a rich girl. Jaden just laughed at me a shook his head. He grabbed my plate and washed it. Afterwards I decided to go to the tunnel market to pick up some groceries we needed. It took my about thirty minutes but when I got home I expected to see the house cleaned and everything organized since Jaden was supposed to clean up but what I went home to was everything exactly the same as it was when I left.
"Jaden what the hell?! You were supposed to clean the house you lazy ass!" I screamed getting no response.
I went into the kitchen but he wasn't there. I also looked in the bedroom but no sign of Jaden.
"Jaden?" I asked, worrying a little now.
I heard something get knocked over downstairs.
"Oh my goodness Jaden you are so dead!" I once again screamed. I can't believe he would scare me like that.
I rushed downstairs into the kitchen. There was a cup on the floor, but Jaden wasn't there.
"What?" I sort of whispered.
The cup was rocking a little. On the table there was a note, I went to pick it up. It was a small envelope sealed with some red wax with and 'A' on the center of it.
"Jaden this isnt funny you jerk!" I yelled at the empty house.
I opened it and there was a letter, the handwriting was neat and organized. It looked so professional.
Can't be from Jaden. I thought
I started reading it and realized it wasn't from Jaden for sure, but I didn't know who it was from although it sent a massive wave of chills all over my body.
Dear Catherine,
Hello my sweet Catherine! It's been quite a while since we encountered, how have you been? You've grown up so much! I'm not sure if you remember me but you really should. A while ago this little girl was being stubborn and kicked me in the crotch and throat. I swore she would pay, and I finally found her. It took me a while but your town friends easily gave you away. I see you are now very good friends with Jaden. Yea, he is very kind and loving. He didn't fit in with us. We needed someone who wasn't going to regret or feel bad for a useless soul screaming in front of them. I forgive him, but I don't forgive you. You almost killed me you know. So, instead of getting revenge on you, I see you care very much for Aid, so I am going to torture him instead :). He seems like an important part of your life, so why not? How sweet of him, taking your pain and suffering himself. I hope you regret what you did, although it won't matter anyways because I'm not letting Aid escape again. Have a very good day and don't look out the window ;).
-D
P.S. Aid (a.k.a. Jaden) is what i call him, because he would always aid those in need. It fit him pretty well, especially with you.
Oh no
Is the first thing that came to my head. This is clearly the man with the mask, but why did he take Jaden? It wasn't his fault, I didn't want to involve him. I dropped the letter, tears rolling down my face. I had no idea what to do. I couldn't just go beat up those guys and save Jaden just like that. Mostly because my small figure was no match for the huge tough men that were the Anchors. I was falling apart, I couldn't handle this, I was going to go insane. Without thinking I looked out the window and saw a bandanna and some sunglasses nailed on a tree.
Oh no
I repeated. I ran outside and looked closely at the objects hung on the tree. They were Jaden's. When he was an Anchor, he wore these. I looked at the ground and saw huge scratch marks on the dirt. They led far deep into the forest.
"Oh no..." I said, again.
