I had a headache and my whole body hurt. My eyes fluttered open to find the horrifying mask inches away from my face. I gasped a little, it had many small symbols I didn't understand. The edges looked sharp, and spear heads outlined the top of it. I was curious, curious to see the monster under the mask, the beast that tore my life to shreds in seconds.
I was careful and quiet, slowly lifting my hand up and placing it gently on the bottom edge of the mask. It was definitely sharp.
Why would someone make a mask sharp? Wouldn't it be scary if you cut your neck or something?
I lifted the mask trying not to make contact with his skin. What I saw under it was unbelievable. It was an exact replica of Jaden, well, almost. His lips were thin and his skin was a very light tan. His eyebrows were small but dark brown. His eyelashes long, a few wrinkles on his forehead. And his nose, small and round. I didn't believe it, he couldn't be. I was brought back to earth when he rolled over and kicked my leg. I gunted loudly, freezing when he moved.
He didn't wake up, thankfully. I stopped my train of thought and got out off of the couch. My legs were wobbly, making me stumble to the floor. I found my jeans but my shirt was destroyed. I looked around and found the guys hoodie.
I'm gonna regret this.
I grabbed both things and put them on swiftly. The cuts at my back were on fire. With every small movement, i felt them stretch and sting again. I stood up and tried regaining balance. When I was finallynable to stand up right, I walked to the door and quietly exited the room. There was nobody else in the hallway. I ran towards the room where Jaden was. The door got stuck, I tried pushing it harder but it wouldn't move. I backed up a little and ran forwards, slamming myself onto the door and falling to the ground. I lucky opened it although it deffinitely opened my cuts a little.
"Jaden!" I yelled running towards him.
He was on the floor, a pool of blood around him.
"No Jaden! Please hang on, I'm right here it's okay, I'm with you. Jaden wake up please!" Tears were blurring my vision and I tried shaking him a little.
"....c a t h e r i n e......" Jaden's voice was very weak and low.
"Jaden, your okay! Don't move I've got you." I placed a hand on his cold cheek, "hang on, I'll be right back." I got up and ran outside.
The building had many cabinets all around, and papers on the floor. I glanced at some and saw they looked like.....a doctors report?
A hospital
Hope sprang back into me while i serached instensely. There may be some first aid kits around here. It took me a while running around rooms and shuffling through drawers and cabinets but I found some towels, bandages, medicine, and alcohol. I ran back into the room and quickly tended Jaden's injuries. He whimpered a few times but I managed to clean him as much as I could and wrapped him up carefully.
"Catherine what did he do?" Jaden spoke slowly.
"Nothing Jaden don't worry about that just calm down and regain your strength. We need to go." I sat him up and leaned against the wall, holding him in my arms.
"No Catherine tell me what the hell he did to you!" He scared me this time, yelling loud and strong.
"How about you tell me about your father?" I replied getting angry.
He didn't reply this time. His eyes flicked downwards. He just kept silent and still.
"Jaden.....is he your-"
"No. That bastard is my terrible excuse for a father." He cut me off, sounding angry now.
"Jaden, why the hell didn't you tell me? Do you not trust me or something? Am I not your best friend?" My heart was once again hurting.
