The Phantom Troupe took a short detour to a hotel. None of them rented a room and broke into a random man's.
He shrieked in agony as Feitan cut him up and Erika cocked a brow as Uvo began digging out beer from the fridge.
"Why do you need that? You don't even get drunk." She said. Shalnark was already typing into the Hunter website when he said, "Leech managed to cut a small hole into Uvo's skin and inserted leeches into him when Uvo was dealing with the hair man."
"Gross." She said as she peered over Shalnark's shoulder. "They owned a Nostrade family car, right?" Erika nodded. She watched as the blonde found info on the hotels they were staying at and shrieked when Franklin sneakily entered the room with a armful of beer.
"We should sell those empty cans to a person and get some money while we're at it." She joked. "Very funny.." Replied a concentrated Shalnark. He pulled a paper from the printer and handed it to Uvo.
"Be careful, Uvo, and don't be too reckless." Shalnark warned. Uvo nodded with a grunt as he turned his head to Erika. "C'mon Ika!" He said. "Me?!" She questioned, confused. "Of course! You must be itching to burn them, right?" He replied. It was true that she wanted a little revenge, but if she went with him she'd have to face Kurapika.
"A-alright. Bye Shalnark, Franklin." "Be careful!" The blonde called again, waving. The two spiders hopped out the hotel window and landed on the floor. They walked a few minutes, discussing plans. "I'll use Zetsu to hide while you deal with them head on. It's better for them to think there's only one opponent instead of two." Erika said. Uvo nodded in agreement and bent down a little.
"What?" She asked. Uvo grinned before saying, "Just like the old times?" Erika pondered his words for a second. Realization struck hard and true as she grinned while climbing onto one of the giant's shoulders.
"Ah! Your heavy!" Uvo complained. Erika smacked his head from behind as Uvo laughed. "Hold on." He warned as they began accelerating. Uvo burst into a full sprint as they neared the Nostrade hotel.
The two bounded up the steps and by the time they reached the second floor Erika hopped off the wide shoulder and used a Nen ability she hadn't done since the Hunter Exam.
"See you there Uvo." The purplette said as she muttered the words, "Escaping Shadows ." Under her breath. Her body began to turn misty as she took the form of a female shadow. The feminine shadow waved goodbye and began to slink from wall to wall till she entered a room. It was bright with lights so her shadowy body was easier to spot. Erika reverted back to a regular body and used a strong Zetsu to conceal herself.
Uvo stomped in a moment later and nodded to her from the shadows. He moved to the foyer where a blonde Kurta stood, prepared.
Erika's mouth turned into a tight line as she observed the two. "You the one who captured our other member?" Kurapika checked Uvo from top to bottom before nodding his head nonchalantly.
"Yes. I'm saddened to say she didn't scream under our conditions." He lied. Kurapika felt a stinging sensation with every foul word that came out of his mouth.
Uvo just seemed even more riled up. "I'm saddened to say that I can't repay the favor once I finish you. We have a pretty good torturer as well." The large man said.
"I'll humor you. Pick a destination you'd like to die at." Uvo offered. "A place away from society that's large and unnoticeable would be preferable, I suppose." The blonde answered.
Erika could only stare as the two began treading towards the mountains. She followed silently through the shadows, pausing every so often to make sure she didn't give off her hiding spot.
They soon arrived in the rocky mountains. It was secluded and dark and the only light was from the scarlet moon that shrouded the sky with its moonlight rays.
Erika stood on top of a mountain ledge and watched anxiously as the two stared face to face. Then they moved.
Both were swiftly going at inhuman speeds that it was almost impossible to keep up. Uvo landed a clean punch on Kurapika's left arm. The purplette winced but was relieved and shocked to see him escape unscathed.
Confusion spread through Uvo's face as he shrieked out, "50 percent!" The troupe member's aura greatly increased as he lunged for another punch. The blonde Kurta endured it as well, only a few scratches visible.
"Is that all you've got?" Kurapika asked. Erika watched in disbelief as Uvo charged his enhancer punch to 100 percent. As he went for the hit, the bones in Kurapika's left arm snapped as he blocked the rest of his body from getting damaged though he didn't seem fazed by the now swelling forearm.
Uvo continued with a smoke screen that concealed his aura and physical body giving him the tactic of surprise. Kurapika didn't fall for it, though, as the spoke screen cleared up with the wave of his chains.
Uvo seemed confused and shocked when a tightening sensation filled his body. He used Gyo to check and sure enough there were chains wrapped around him.
Erika, too, used Gyo and crinkled her face as she saw her dear fellow troupe member chained. Uvogin shook with rage and he used all his physical strength to try to break them. The chains surprisingly didn't budge.
Kurapika muttered a few more words to him but Erika couldn't hear because of the distance between them. She became distressed, however, when the blonde began attacking the large man. Torture.. Erika thought. Uvo didn't move a face muscle and continued to repeat the words "Kill me."
The purplette made a move to reveal herself but Uvo spared a moment of his precious life to look at her from the side as if saying "No."
Kurapika began to speak again and Uvo retracted his eyes from her to look at the blonde. He flinched when another chain entered his body, winding itself around his heart.
Erika ignored everything then. She removed her Zetsu and ran towards them. It was too late as Uvo coughed up blood and began to fall.
The purplette let out a cry as she rushed to his side. Uvo fell into the girl's arms and looked at her weakly. He grinned at her before muttering, "Grow up.. Big.. And strong.. Okay... Ika?" Erika let the tears she'd been holding in escape then. She nodded fiercely as she stained tears into his tank-top.
Erika could also feel Kurapika's eyes boring into her. She looked at him sadly. He responded with a confused and troubled expression.
"Erika, he killed tons of people and felt no remorse. How can you still cry over his corpse?" He asked exasperatedly.
She opened her mouth to reply and croaked out, "U-Uvo.. H-he was the one.. Who.. W-who picked me off the streets and brought me into the troupe.. He was like.. A brother I never had.. A-and now.. He-he-he's d-dead!" She shouted, fresh tears running down her cheeks.
Kurapika enveloped the weeping girl into his arms but saddened as she weakly pushed him away. "I need a moment alone." The girl muttered. The blonde pursed his lips and he walked away. When he was out of range, Kurapika punched the mountain creating cracks like a web from where he had connected his hand to the rock.
The Kurta swore then as the broken hearted girl continued to cry into the dead member's shirt without stopping...
