"Crap! It's the troupe." She said. Kurapika's eyes began reverting into a scarlet hue. "Kurapika, you can't! Not right now!" She scolded. He looked at her exasperatedly.
"But--!" The blonde began. "Please find me again. I'm sorry for putting you through so much trouble." Erika said, sadly. Kurapika looked into her glassy eyes and nodded confidently.
"Hide. Now! Please evacuate the building and its inhabitants. It's about to get a little hot in here.." She said. Kurapika's eyes widened when he realized what she meant. The blonde rushed into the building and ran quickly up the flight of stairs to find Dalzollene.
He found him in the hallway and grabbed onto his shirt. "W-wha?! Kurapika?! Look, if you want your job back its already taken!" Kurapika panted as he shook his head. "P-Phantom.... Troupe.." He told Dalzollene.
The bodyguard then understood the situation and ordered him to get Neon out. The blonde nodded as he dashed into the room. Without explaining, he scooped up the blue haired mistress and bolted outside. When he got to the main room he could already smell the noxious grey smoke.
"Cover your mouth, Neon-san!" The young girl, ultimately confused, covered her mouth and nose obediently and watched distraught as she was taken from her home. The rest of the bodyguards filed out unscathed but confused.
"Kurapika what's happening!?!" Dalzollene asked. Melody interrupted. "I hear multiple heartbeats. They're all rough and cold.." She said. Kurapika began his explanation, "The girl you captured was part of the Phantom Troupe. While we took her to the car apparently one of them used Nen to track her. She used her Nen abilities to set the house on fire because it was the only way to spare you guys from death." He said.
"Death?!" Squala, the dog man, shouted. Kurapika nodded grimly. "I'm sure she believed they would have killed you if you stayed." "Please! I'm sure she just wanted to kill us all!" Squala retaliated. The blonde became enraged by the comment.
"If she meant to kill you, she would not have sent me to warn you." Kurapika said. "And if I knew you were gonna be like this, I'd rather just have not warned you at all and taken the rest with me." The dog man seemed uncomfortable after the lecture. Squala nodded his head, defeated, and followed Kurapika to the forest behind the house.
A moment later Neon Nostrade began to whine. "Wahh! All my stuff is in there! What about my clothes?!" She screeched. Her two servants attempted to calm her down but to no avail.
Too annoyed to care Kurapika looked her in the eyes. "Would you rather die then?" He said harshly as he pointed to the burning building.
Neon gulped slowly and shook her head side to side. "Then please, miss, do not complain." He said. The blue haired girl nodded and muttered a quiet, "Yes.."
Meanwhile..
Erika had reverted back into the killing-calm she used while with the troupe. "Ah, you guys are late." She said. Uvo grinned when he saw the flaming building in the background. "No survivors, Ika?" He asked. Erika cocked a brow at him.
"Guys, I don't think she's in a good mood after being kidnapped." Shalnark said with a smile. Feitan began to chuckle coldly with his high, scratchy voice.
Annoyed, Erika transmuted a barely visible shadow and knocked Feitan's own shadow over the head with a rock's shadow.
"Ouch." He said and glared murderously at the purplette. Erika stuck out her tongue and yelped as the killer began to chase her. "Crap! Shizuku! Help me!" She pleaded. The vacuum girl contemplated for a moment. A very long moment.
By the time she said no Feitan was already dragging her by the collar and walking back to his usual spot. Uvo roared with laughter as the other members snickered at her misfortune.
Erika made the bottoms of their shoes burn and genuinely laughed when they began complaining.
The girl stiffened a bit. Is this the real me? A cold killer who enjoys joking with her other murderer pals? Or am I a girl in love with a Kurta and friends with twelve year old children? Is it possible to be... Both?
She thought deeply on the spot. "Hm?" Machi said. "What's wrong Erika." Franklin asked. "Huh? Oh I was just wondering whether burning them was right.. Perhaps I should've let Wildfire loose? Would that seem worse?" She asked them. Uvo patted her proudly on the back while cackling.
"Ouch! Your voice is causing me to go deaf. How am I still able to hear after all these months?!" She joked. "Eeehhhh?!" Uvo complained. Shalnark and Feitan snickered at him this time.
I'm sorry Kurapika. I'm still figuring out who I truly am.. She thought bitterly, but laughed automatically as Feitan held Uvo in an armlock. "Hey I'm still injured!" Uvo shouted.
Her giggles simmered down to a soft smile. The Phantom Troupe was, no still is, her family. She just wasn't sure which was correct..
Yet.
